Just a wee bit of fun. Every so often the topic of the best ICT team or the worst ICT team crops up. So just for something a bit different, what about the all time 2nd XI or the unsung heroes team if you like. Just some players that have done well for us but don’t ever seem to make it into our best ever XI.

    So here goes

    GK Dean Brill

    RB Ian Mcarthur
    CB Gary Warren

    CB Mark McCulloch

    LB Richard Hastings

    RM David Bagan

    CM Paul Cherry

    CM Ian Black

    LM Aaron Doran

    CF Craig Dargo

    CF Scott McLean

    subs

    Mike Noble

    Liam polworth

    Iain Vigurs

    David Xausa

    Sandy Robertson

    Brian Thomson

    John Scott

They would all make our first team now. Some cracking players in that list.👍

Looks like you might not be so far off CaleyD - here's an extract taken from an interview Partick's Gerry Britton has given to the BBC...

"I genuinely fear for a lot of the smaller clubs who are on a real tipping point and a situation like this could very easily push some clubs under."

Partick Thistle find themselves in a precarious situation at the bottom of the Championship if the league season was to finish early.

The Glasgow club are two points adrift of second-bottom Queen of the South, but have a game in hand.

However, Britton says clubs at the top of the table should be rewarded for their success so far, even if clubs like his own avoid relegation.

"There's a number of scenarios being spoken about," he said. "If the league stops here then okay, teams have to be rewarded. We are into the last quarter, so the teams at the top need to be rewarded.

"It's hard not to be self-interested. When I look at it, the one proposal I've heard of the top two teams getting promoted with no relegation, of Kelty and Brora coming up, that works for me.

"If we did have an experiment with the top tier going up to 14 teams, we might find it works."

So if that's the way it pans out we'd be going back up to the Premiership with DU.

I'll believe that when I see it. Hope he's right but can we survive time without any income?

Id be more worried if they were not meeting to form an action plan tbh

I just hope there is an answer but having to pay wages without any income is a challenge to any business never mind one without reserves.

The only thought that comes to mind is that it's not the club's responsibility for the individual players to keep fit. It's theirs and a good, honest player knows this and works with his trainer  on moves and actions to achieve this.

Basically it's called ambition and self respect. Sooo…. midweek games should not be a huge impediment to achieving a high level of fitness. Surely not at this crucial and advanced juncture of the season.

True professionals and semi pros are not the same thing. The honest and really ambition and responsible athlete  works this out.

    on the sherbet again

  7. Downside: No matter, a one goal win against a team of kids is nothing to shout home about.

Upside: It is highly probable that most of them are earning as much if not more than our guys. Another cup final which is very winable. Well done guys in what could have been a banana skin. 👍

Our cost base (spending) since relegation has barely changed from when we were in the Premiership, so if Robbo doesn't have the budget...where's the money being spent?  Something, quite literally, doesn't add up.

I doubt very much if we were spending *£400k per annum on youth when we were in Premiership but then again maybe we were.

  9. I really don't know how much more people can ask from Robbo considering what he has at his disposal and the budget he has. Dundee fans must be wondering what we are complaining about. We are still in second place ffs! short memories, don't forget this team took the runaway leaders to bits.

Pleased to see Saints stating that he will arrive in the summer. I would imagine that they enquired about buying him now and our board were able to say no. Hopefully that’s the end of it.

He doesn't want to be here so I would cash him in now.

I see St J are eyeing up Mikey Devlin in exchange for Matty Kennedy going the other direction whereas Aberdeen are offering Curtis Main.

Would either be worth getting in on loan or would we have to pay some of the wages?

Paying some or all of his wage would be quite normal.

Curry has gone and now with strong rumors that Coll and Rooney have signed PCA's and the club are looking to get settlements for early departures, do we play them or plan for the future and drop them?

                          Ridgers

    B.Mckay    McCart     Tremarco  McHattie

    Doran       Trafford      Keatings   McGregor

                                  Storey

                                 Todorov

I would drop them now. Obviously loyalty is not one of their attributes.
