My perception of the different personalities is not that they wish to compete, but that they have different ideas on the day to day running and/or historical disagreements....with the exception of Muirfield Mills who were just an utter basketcase which was always destined to fail miserably!

I'm of the opinion that a high level board of investors/directors (charged with securing capital investment and setting the budget) which had a management board/committee sitting below it to take responsibility for operational activities might just be able to pull everyone together.  The Management Group would be headed by an Executive Director (the link between boards) and made up of representatives from each club dept (Football, Commercial, Marcoms, Community*, Youth, Fans) plus a General Manager.

*Although this now seems a totally separate organisation, it needs to tie into the club very closely.

Totally agree Caley D. This was talked about many years ago but one man clobbered it.

What saddens me is that it seems impossible for people to work together for the betterment of the club be they Orion, Tulloch, Muirfield Mills or whomever. We always seem to end up with competing factions.

Think it's an ego, control and self interest thing if I'm reading it right

At the moment he's certainly not getting the best out of any them.

Pretty dissapointed with his criticism of individuals in the Press (P&)during these last couple of weeks. Doran,McCart Trafford have all been highlighted when collectively as a team they have all been dross.

Seems to be one of Robbo's deficiencies, he should never publically criticise any player individually. We win or lose as a team.

  4. I think this just goes to show that there doesn't seem to be any new blood interested. A big pity but glad to see two very successful businessmen willing to come back and bring their business acumen (and money) to help the club.

Ah cheers for that, I know Billy has a son Euan. I wasn’t sure so I asked a Buckie fan who said Sam was Billy’s lad. Not much of a likeness anyway.

last I heard Euan was at Nairn but I think he may now be in the States.

Went along to Bonnyrigg v Buckie last night which felt a bit like a Caley/ICT old boys reunion at times. Spider Stewart as manager, Sam Urquhart, son of The Legend, Sam Robertson, son of Wilsie, Lewis MacKinnon, now 34 and playing centre half, plus Kevin Fraser, Shaun Carroll, Andrew McAskill, Jai Cheyne, all associated with ICT if I’ve got this right.

Sam Urquhart is Alan Urquharts son (ex Clach and Ross County) was with us as a kid, went to Aberdeen then back to us for a wee while as a youth. Big potential but didn't quite get there.

I think the whole Project Brave has been a "jobs for the boys" exercise at Scottish level creating lots of extra admin jobs in the central belt and is costing small clubs a lot of money they can't afford.  Is it any better than what clubs had in place before?

    I very much doubt it.

One thing I noticed during the game yesterday was how the Partick captain rallied his teammates and drive them on following our equaliser.

Not everyone believes that a captain needs to be screaming at everyone all the time, but I feel that we are lacking a natural leader on the pitch.

so who would you replace Carl with?

  9. I hear the former Caley president Hugh Crout's health has deteriorated considerably. I am pretty sure Hugh will now be well into his 80's but I hope he recovers well enough to enjoy many more happy years.

No idea. How may local players have County made first team regulars in the past decade? Just for context that they are the well funded localish 'community club'?

I think selling Ryan gives us the edge on return on investment and also think we could argue that we have had more players coming through to the first team squad. However, we have to get away from this County comparison thing. IMO a Highland "Academy" would cut costs dramatically and reduce the number of kids being given false hope and then dumped. Negotiations could be difficult and would be better held by people who have no personal positions to protect.

It was a discussion with a colleague from Dunfermline that reminded me about that Fife Elite and that they had benefited from getting some of the talented graduates - not sure if there is a draft type system involved like NFL etc, but I'm pretty sure all those clubs involved have signed players from the academy.

Players will develope to the level they are capable of. If they are capable, the Premier League team would pick them up and so on down the leagues to highland League. It just takes mature people to work it out and save all clubs a lot of money. It is a well known fact that the majority of kids being coached in so called academies will not play at the club's league level.

For clarity I meant anyone in general, not specific to these two individuals - apologies.  However, question remains where is the source?  It would be an idea for the board, IMHO, to have a mix of those with cash deposits but also those who can bring some business acumen or connections or indeed any skill that the club currently does not have behind the scenes.  This may be naive, but....

personally I believe directors should have a minimum of £50k invested in the club.

I'd love to know what source has decreed that Messrs Fyffe & Dalgarno are ready for the off - is this backed up by fact or just from the rumour mill?  Anybody who puts money in to the club must know that they are not getting it out so whilst I am not saying we should graciously accept, perhaps there should be less vitriol around who we are willing to accept money from?  Yes, we all have the best interests at heart and would hope that any new "donor" (not investor as that suggests a ROI at the end) has the long term future of the club as their goal but the brutal facts are we need money, we need stability and we need a board who have the cojones to make the hard decisions NOW to balance the books, re-engage with the wider community - importantly Fan AND Business - and ensure that we retain FT football and at least top 3 in the league with an occasional spell in the SPL to boost coffers from time to time?  Can't be that difficult......

But please, anyone, don't come in with a blaze of glory on here with suggestions of how to shape things going forward and then disappear without a trace.  We need staying power and sleeves rolled up.

I don't think you will find that Mr Fyfe has any shares in the club. If he has, I will be very surprised.
