You may very well be right. Normally, cards are exclusive to each competition, but I've seen suspensions across all competitions before - when the red-card has been for 'violent conduct'. But, I really don't know. Fortunately, we won't have too long to wait to find out. The SFA produce a weekly update on suspensions on Fridays (occasionally Thursdays). http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/football_document_libraries.cfm?page=2567 Update: I've just had a look at that list and (even before last night) Marley Watkins is now due a one game ban! That confuses me as he had been on only 5 bookings before the Dundee United game and I assumed that his caution yesterday was his 6th and the one that triggered the ban. I'm certain it's 6 yellow cards before a suspension. Perhaps there's a 'carry over' from last season or something! SPFL – PREMIERSHIP 14/02/2015 MARLEY JOSEPH WATKINS (INVERNESS CT F.C.) 1 FIRST TEAM MATCH FROM 28/02/2015 There's even a bit of ambiguity there, as when does 'from' 28th Feb actually start. The 28th is the date of our Motherwell game on Saturday. I'm guessing it starts after that - but is only for SPFL games. So, I'll speculate that Marley will miss the Partick Thistle away match! Confusing, but there's not a great deal of transparency around the disciplinary process! So, in essence, the booking he got last night hasn't tipped him over the threshold, as it appears he was already there.

That's Watkins with 6 league cautions now, so he's due a one-game suspension. But, usually players in that situation are free for the next match and the ban 'kicks in' for the following game. So, I think he'll be okay for Motherwell and the Cup game v Raith, but will miss the Partick Thistle away fixture. But Warren, it seems got a straight red - which means he'll certainly miss the next game. Depending on what the referees report states as the reason for his dismissal, he could get an immediate 2 game (all competition) ban - meaning he'd miss Motherwell and then the cup tie. Won't know for sure until the SFA disciplinary weekly report comes out on Friday! While I'm on here, that was our first score-draw, away from home, under Hughes. (in his 27th league game with us on the road!)

We'd probably have to go far in the tournament before that happened! The English Premier League is ranked at no.2 by UEFA so clubs from there enter much later than SPFL teams! I did read that if Celtic beat Inter Milan, then in 2016/17 we (Scottish clubs) will get 5 teams in Europe for the following season. Maybe wrong, the whole system appears shrouded in secrecy! But, as much as it sometimes pains me, I support every Scottish team in Europe. To do otherwise is simply betraying your own club's future opportunities!

I also, initially, thought it was a clean strike and was perplexed when a couple of different match reports said that the strike 'took a deflection'. I also noted that IHEs player ratings mentioned the shot hit a Killie defender's head. I've looked back at the footage and it appears that there was the slightest of touches - although it was net-bound anyway! But it's almost imperceptible in real-time and slow-motion!

Although I don't follow cricket much, the first thing I did this morning was look up the result of the game! The Afghanistan match is next for Scotland - on paper their most realistic chance of getting that elusive first win...although, like most of the 'Associate' sides, are no mugs! I just found out that disappointingly, the next World Cup in 2019 is being reduced to not 12, but just 10 teams - what a slap-in-the-face for these developing cricket nations! It'll probably be the 10 Test playing nations. Surely that's a backward move if the ICC are wanting to make it a truly global sport. I'm only following this tournament because Scotland are involved, but if it was the 10 Test nations, I would barely acknowledge it!

It did take a deflection, though!

And you just beat this pedant to it! We could probably still mathematically be relegated via the play-off, but you're correct - we cannot now finish bottom!

The top of the final table from 1965: It appears Elgin would certainly have needed to win at Telford Street to clinch the title. Bizarrely, it was apparently 1-1 at half-time! But that Elgin team of the 60s won most Highland Leagues during that decade. They also got to the Scottish Cup quarters in '68 - still the only non-league club top reach that stage (Spartans almost equalled it this year!) - and that Elgin side are certainly stronger than they currently are!

Marko Vukanovic isn't an international.

I hope we sign him - it would be another country ticked-off on the 'How many nationalities..." thread!

Apparently 1-2 now! (watching on Bet365 website). County 86 mins. Inverness 88 mins. No sendings off. Two bookings each. Nine corners to County, no corners for us - that's all I know as the streams gone down! I assume we won 2-1. Even though we play some of our home games there, this is officially an away win, at last!

GOAL! 66 mins. County 0-1 ICT

Dutch footballers did not fit in seamlessly over the bridge! That's a good point! Och, trust County to spoil it! Serves me right for 'buying' the cliché! It used to hold true - they could speak the language and were adaptable etc. - I guess it was just another football myth!

It's encouraging Hughes is still looking about for re-enforcements. Although the inference must be that he doesn't yet think that Ali Sutherland or Calum Ferguson are ready for the first team. He's probably right, we're coming into the 'business end' of the season, and it's maybe unfair to throw them in at the moment. This guy, has much more experience and without wanting to generalise, Dutch footballers tend to adapt very well to the UK/Scottish game. His recent international experience should have given him confidence too. I wasn't excited about Sekajja's appointment, but I think this player may be worth a punt! Now I've said that, I'll probably now read in the Highland News today that he's been released with 'good wishes'!

Apparently a game against County tomorrow, (Thursday). Thursday February 19, 2015 Ross County v Inverness CT - Highland Football Academy, 1pm

It'll be nice to have a current full international striker on our books again! He seems to be Curacao's top marksman. Intriguingly, if we do sign him, he'll be missing at the end of next month - on FIFA World Cup (Russia 2018) qualifying duty!
-
I don't think he has!

We need to get on the phone to Hearts and get Prince Buaben signed-up. Then the players can run out to that 90s classic, "Two Princes" by the Spin Doctors!
-
Just remember one other point. One of the 3 Scottish teams will start in the 2nd Qualifying round. It's supposed to be the winners of the Scottish Cup, but depending who wins it, it could transfer to being the Premiership runner-up.

Got a wee tingle thinking about it! (Not you're honeymoon!) Imagine the anticipation for the draw on June 22nd? - with the first game only 10 days away! Games coming on consecutive Tuesdays.... I haven't looked ahead to any further than that - there is a Third qualifying round and then a 'Play-Off' round before the Group Stages. In pre-season this year, coincidentally, we played friendlies on the 4 'dates' above - July 2nd - Clach July 9th - Forres July 16th - Brora July 23rd - Deveronvale We could be looking at an altogether different scenario this summer!
