Top photo Mantis, it was a beauty of a free kick by Greenhalgh. We were on top in the first half but Hearts had much the better of the second. The only real chance we created was a late free kick by Liam Polworth. It was freezing. My knee seized up it was so cold.

I'm off work on Tuesday, am considering cycling over to Newtongrange for this.
  3. South America eh? Sergio Markarian ;)
  4. There used to be guys who took a 'Leith Caley' flag to games, haven't seen it in a few years.
  5. Leith is a great part of town. Trainspotting was set in the early 80s, it's all gentrified now with Swedish themed pubs and latte bars on every corner.
  6. Derek Adams joining would be like that weird time when Harry Redknapp went from Portsmouth to Southampton and then back again.
  7. Neil Warnock was linked with us in 2007 when we appointed Brewster for the second time.
  8. Given Hearts turnover of managers perhaps a Manager of the Month award would be better suited for Tynecastle. Lazslo won the football writers manager of the year award and the SPL award
  9. What he won hearts' manager of the year? No he won Scottish manager of the year.
  10. Lazslo won manager of the year for the full season he was in the SPL, overall he did a good job at Hearts.
  11. We'll probably take 1,000 odd fans to this and get slated by the media. Hopefully it's us v St Johnstone in the final in front of 6,000 fans. **** the SPFL and their sponsors.
  12. Here's an article about Kevin MacDonald's time at Swindon - a mixed bag but it seems he went into a rather difficult situation. http://thewashbag.com/2013/07/14/we-need-to-talk-about-kevin-macdonald/
  13. Levein was a horrorshow as Scotland manager but he has a good record in the SPL.
  14. Some absolutely terrible names put forward here. Mark McGhee? Really?
  15. Not sure I'd be in favour of this. Maybe having Foran as an assistant could be the way forward. I'd rather Foran as a player-manager with MM as assistant to be honest.
  16. We really should've won that game 4 or 5-0. I thinkif the deflection from the defender that hit the post not long after we went 2-0 up had gone in we'd have probably scored six. Richie Foran was magnificent, after a display like that I don't think it'd be a bad idea to make him player-manager for the rest of the season. Dominant in the park, good on the ball and utterly committed. I love the man. Graeme Shinnie had one of his best games I've seen him, he defended dilligently, didn't get caught out of position and was a huge attacking threat. He runs so directly with the ball but from right back he can cut inside and cause problems. I can't think of another attacking full back who plays on his opposite side, it must be unusual for opposition players to deal with. Nick Ross also had a magnificent game. I've often thought that Nick Ross looked as though he kept threatening to up his game to another level but never really delivered. Today he arrived, perhaps the goal gave him confidence but he seemed to find space, he used the ball brilliantly and attacked Hibs aggressively and directly. On another day he could well have bagged a couple of assists, the little dinks and through balls for McKay almost came off several times. I'm really pleased for him, if he keeps that going he'll be a replacement for Andy Shinnie. I also enjoyed Dean Brill falling over every time he moved more than five yards.
  17. He's obviously leaving.
  18. John Collins - Could be a possibility, although you have to wonder why no-one wanted him other than Livingston in the last few years. Jim Jeffries - No thanks. Old school, struggled latterly at Killie and hasn't done that well at the Pars. Craig Levein - Possibility. Shocking Scotland manager but has been a very capable SPL manager with Hearts and United. Duncan Shearer - No. John Robertson - No. I think our players made him seem a better manager than he was and he has failed everywhere else, including in the League of Ireland and East Fife. Alex McLeish - He's past it in England but it might be interesting to see how he did with an SPL side. Turned out pretty dour teams of late. Paul Hartley - Up and comer with clear talent and prospects but it'd be a risk. These things can go either way. Jimmy calderwood - Absolutely no chance. Complete ersehile, old school SFA Largs dick of a manager. Barry Wilson - Maybe a little too soon. Has anyone ever jumped from managing non-league to the SPL? He has no experience of full time football as a coach/manager, no contacts in the transfer market. He'd be better as a number two at the moment.
  19. We should bin all of Butchers signings. My team ------------------Esson------------------ ---Esson----Esson----Esson---Esson--- -------------Esson-------Esson------------ ---Esson---------Esson--------Esson---- -----------------Esson---------------------- Esson can do a great job pushing forward to support Esson, although I'm a little worried that Esson and Esson may not marry up well in the centre of the park.
  20. This is an opportunity, it's exciting. Managers don't stay forever, we'll soon see how we develop. Anyone got any odds for the new manager?
  21. I think our team made some of our managers look better than they were - Robbo and Brewster in particular.
  22. Holloway is a pish manager, he scraped through the play-offs with Palace last season and was found wanting in the EPL. His 'hilarious' interviews aren't as funny when your team are getting roundly pumped.
  23. Mo was poor at Well after taking over from Butcher. Richie Foran as player-manager with Malpas staying as assistant?
