  1. He was talking about Ross Tokely. Since promotion to the SPL, fame went to the big man's head and he kept missing training after nights out with Paris Hilton and was rumoured to be spending £1000 a night on champagne.
  2. Unsung hero, he's been brilliant this season.
  3. The reason that our merger worked is that there was a concrete benefit to it. There is no benefit merging any other teams in Scotland, not really. THe obvious candidates are Dundee and Dundee Utd but what would they get? A mid-table SPL side who occasionally have a good cup run? That's what Dundee Utd have now and Dundee have had in the past, no real benefits. I liked Scotty's link, I've always thought we are the Sxcottish Sampdoria. Expect to see us in the European Cup final around 2030 by their timetable.
  4. 12-12-18 sounds a decent split but I don't understand why the 8-8-8 split needs to be a part of the package. I can't see that much more money being created from it. Why not have a single governing body, a fairer split of money, a pyramid etc but keep the SPL as it is? What's the reason? I haven't followed this as I lose the will to live about league reconstruction and all that pish.

We drew 2-2 with Hamilton today.
  6. Newcastle fans reacted to the defeat by attacking police in the city centre, and one brave Geordie tried to fight a horse MON THEN EH
  7. A couple of guys from the Gellions bus left the Ayr Utd 4-3 game at half time. Don't think anyone left the 4-4 United game early.
  8. I was watching the FA Cup semi-final today, was pretty impressed with Sergio Aguero and Eden Hazard. Both looked as though they'd be handy additions to our squad.
  9. I wonder if any Sunderland fans are complaining about their new manager now? He could probably have goose-stepped into the post-match press conference and they wouldn't care.
  10. I assume there will be a full house as the GFITW actually turn up for a game? I'm going. I enjoy going to Celtic Park, it's like a wildlife programme but for humans.
  11. The great and the good are seething at the appointment of Paolo Di Canio as manager of Sunderland AFC, mainly because he has been quoted as saying that he is a 'fascist'. He said at the time that he was a 'fascist not a racist' and has claimed the quote has been taken out of context. Given he has a tattoo of Mussolini on his back and Il Duce on his arm, that's some context we are missing! Would you care if our manager had 'shifty' political views or affiliaations? If Terry Butcher came out as a member of the BNP or a committed supporter of Tommy SHeridan's People Front For Pollokshaws Swingers (Marxist-Leninist) would you leave your Caley scarf behind? Personally I'd find it a bit weird and would prefer that footballers stuck to football but lets be honest, if a manager or a player won the team trophies would you be fussed ifhe liked Mussolini or Stalin or Pol Pot?
  12. Morton had a tartan kit in the 90s
  13. In the run up to Christmas, the players on Twitter were talking about collecting the 'fines' imposed to fund the night out and there was a bit of banter about who would go and collect all of the fines Blackman accrued. I don't think they were keen to try and get him to pay up
  14. Stakanovite comes from Stalinist Russia. Stakanovic was a RUssian worker who was lionised for his feats of hard work and labour.
  15. I can't make it, but good luck. Dunfermline are a good club, have sound fans and is a good away day.
  16. Apparently it was Gibbons who scored the second. Pretty experienced side there. Good to see Hogg and Devine getting a run out.

In that area of Dundee I think £200 gets you a three bedroom flat.
  18. The big question is, who did we use to scout Steve Marsella?
  19. He'll have been called into the Under 19s, he's played for them before.
  20. Devine and Meekings at centre back. Warren must've got tired scoring his double.
  21. Fans often over-rate players that don't play. Pepper had a couple of good showings from the bench but isn't a good choice to start yet.
  22. At the start of the season we needed the likes of Billy McKay and Andy Shinnie to step up to replace Johnny Hayes and Gregory Tade. They managed it. Now we need the likes of Nick Ross and Shane Sutherland to step up and replace the people we have injured. As above, we have a good first XI but rely on younger, rawer players as they drop out. Nick Ross has been a regular in the side for a few years now, we've all seen his potential, he needs to be grasp this opportunity. Same with Shane - he looked good when he came on at Easter Road, he needs to make the leap to being afully fledged SPL player, if he's capable of it.
