  1. I think we go should back to the late 19th/early 20th century style and have a committee picking the team!
  2. I'd rather they took their time, with Duncan Shearer, Foran and Kellacher holding the ship (all very capable) for as many games as it takes, than rush the appointment and end up with someone rubbish.
  3. I must say, I do love the excitement of the managerless limbo!
  4. HT - ICT 1-1 St Johnstone FT - ICT 3-2 St Johnstone ICT 1st scorer - Mckay ST Johnstone 1st scorer - May Time of 1st Goal - 12
  5. I believe Williams is currently injured. For me - Brill Shinnie Warren Meekings Tremarco Draper Foran Doran/Watkins Ross Watkins/Doran Mckay Subs - Esson, Devine, Greenhalgh, Agdestein, Raven, Pepper, Polworth
  6. Billy Reid played utterly horrific football at Hamilton and recently failed to get the Airdrieonians job. No way!
  7. I'm led to believe Sutton is a rather defensive-minded manager - not what he need or would suit us. His record at Lincoln was 27% won, 25% draw and 47% lost. The more I think about him, the more I can't understand why he's even in the running...if he is of course.
  8. Was it not something to do with Alan Savage and Orion?
  9. There was talk of Neil Warnock moving to Inverness/the Highlands when he retired was there not? Don't know if he has a house here already though.
  10. Did we not have Hagi and Popescu as scouts once?
  11. I was going to say that we should sign some of the better Hibs players, just for giggles and that, then I remember there aren't any!
  12. At least he had the decency to keep his mouth shut throughout, as opposed to those other two vagabonds who singlehandedly tarnished their reputation here forever.
  13. Do the players not like him or something?
  14. It's knoll. Only someone who was there would know that!
  15. How's that?
  16. http://www.lincoln.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=34354&posts=14 Lincoln City fans view's ^ Personally, I hope we leave Sutton well alone.
  17. I reckon it was actually the real Terry Butcher all along!
  18. Sutton would be the wrong choice IMO. Tapia seems to have been sacked from most of his jobs as well.
  19. http://www.lincoln.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=231883 Here's an article about Sutton applying for the County job when McStay was sacked. The last line doesn't fill me with much confidence.
  20. Gary Warren was the captain of Newport (and the British Teachers Team!). I think he'd be just as good as Foran, if not better!
  21. Sky Sports are reporting that Richie Foran has signed up for three more years!
  22. I see Craig Brown is touting Kenny Shiels for the job. If that's not a good indicator for not appointing him, I don't know what is!
  23. We've probably a better squad now than the one Shiels inherited, but how good was he at Killie when tried to put his own touches on Mixu's squad? The aforementioned two expensive keepers and those Nigerians doesn't make for good reading. If he were to get the job, he might alright to begin with, but I'm unconvinced he's the man to take the club forward in the long term.
  24. Sacked and then re-instated almost immediately at Coleraine (sounds like some d!ickhead Director nonsense) before going on to win the league title (by 15 points), promotion and a cup that same season. Won another cup and finished 2nd in the league the following season. Resigned after Directors started berating him following a couple of losses to near rivals a couple of seasons later. Took on an all but relegate team at Ballymena and whilst he couldn't save them, he did get them promoted again at second attempt....won 2 cups and qualified for Intertoto in the process. 10 wins, 10 draws, 10 losses was his record at Larne, a job he resigned from due to his work with the national association. How good a manager was he at Kilmarnock though? While he may have won the League Cup, how much of what he achieved was through his own quality and not having a great platform for him put in place by Mixu Paatelainen? From what I can see, there could well be a chance that he's nothing more than this decade's Ivan Golac - only more annoying!
  25. The thing to remember about Shiels, is put aside his 'media persona' and the fact he won the League Cup. He inherited a good squad from Mixu Paatelainen (who I'd have as manager in a second!), which certainly helped him along the way. Of his own signings, he blew a whole load of their budget on Samson and Reguero and on top of that signed two Nigerians who have since both been released without playing a single second of football. His record as a manager in Northern Ireland is also rather patchy, including being sacked by Coleraine. With that in mind, I'm not really sure he's the man for the job at all.
