There already is a Caley Thistle version of Caledonia (or Caley Thistledonia as maybe it should be called). It was on here a while ago actually (unless that was actually in one of many nightly Caley Thistle related dreams - I had one once where McCaffery and Juanjo re-signed, Caff played as number 10 and Juanjo was the number 5. The obscure reasoning for these numbers was never really revealed...) The main chorus went something like - Let not she become a stranger, cause that would make me more than sad Caley Thistle - the best we ever had

Would he go if he was offered it? Absolutely. Will he be considered for it? No. Will he be offered it? Never.

Is it just me, or is it that whenever there's been trouble/arrests at the Caley Stadium it involves Celtic fans about 90% of the time? -
I have no qualms about that result whatsoever. ICT were poor and never got going at all. They weren't even beaten by the better team, just one that wasn't as bad. The game could be still going on right now and the score still begin with "Inverness nil". There was no bite on that team at all, with nobody who really looks like they are capable of scoring goals - but then what do expect of a front four that contains three wingers and a left full back? The selection itself was odd - where was Shinnie meant to be playing? He seemed to switch from sitting behind the striker, to left wing to full back. Why wasn't Gillet at centre back to cover Tokely with Shinnie at full back, with either Sutherland or Gnakpa playing out wide? Surely that would've made a lot more sense. I'm also of the opinion that Tokely plays best at centre back when he has someone alongside him who can act almost as a sweeper. Gillet would've been perfect for that role today. And what's the deal with Meekings? Couldn't cross, pass or distribute the ball to save himself. Why was Piermayr ever dropped? And why wasn't Sutherland on from the start? And where's Billy McKay? He was playing well up until a few weeks ago. Never see him now. And I have to agree with those who mention the keeper issue. Esson is a better keeper than Tuffey - FACT, the latter of which at times seems to have an air of Michael Fraser about him - and I don't mean that in a complimentary way. I can understand giving Tuffey a chance in the cup when the game is against someone like Auchenleck Talbot or the Tain Thistle reserve squad, but not against Celtic. With the makeshift defence that ICT had to persevere with (any defence that includes Proctor is a makeshift defence by the way), surely the one thing you get right is the keeper. Which leads us onto another issue - David Proctor. He's an absolute donkey and has been for years. How he continually gets a game is beyond me and it doesn't seem to matter who the manager is, he's seems to get a game no-matter what. Plus marks today for Gillet and Ross. I thought they played well. But things must improve - and heart is the most important one of all.

I'm sure all of us remember that in the past, Celtic have scored a fair amount of late winning goals at the Caley Park. Does anyone else reckon that if ICT can, for this game they shoot towards the North Stand in the first half (as they have done previously this season), thus diminishing the support Celtic would get towards the end and also making the chances of them scoring late, particularly from set pieces less likely? I think it's worth doing tomorrow. Discuss

http://www.historica...ss_Thistle.html This'll probably give you the best answer. Interesting to note, that Thistle played in a blue and white striped number in the early days, followed a very current ICT-esque blue and red top. Also note that Thistle's first kit was a white and brown striped composition. I'm sure one or two on this site will remember these kits in action! I see as well that some of the early Caledonian kits included a belt!

If Williams is out, I'd rather see Gillet moved back into centre-back than Proctor with Graeme Shinnie coming back in on the left.
-
Because it's Celtic perhaps! Just because of the defences previous performances against lower clubs, doesn't mean it'll happen this time. I don't know about you, but I don't think Proctor going up against Hooper and Stokes is can be bared thinking about!

I see Chris Killen has scored 17 in 35 for the Chinese team he plays for. That's a good record (don't know what the standard there is though - probably not very high). Think he'd be a great signing mind. He's still a New Zealand international as well of course.

Don't know if you could officially count him, but the trialist Giany Joinville had to have a mentioned. He was so bad it was funny! He Lionel Djebi-Zadi look like Roberto Carlos!

In your opinion, what has been Lee Cox's best game in a Caley shirt? I can't think of a particular game off the top of my head, but I do remember him being an integral part of the side that went on to win the First Division at the first time of asking (the first time it had been done in about ten years). What must be remembered here is that when he came he was a straight replacement a similar player in Ian Black who signed for Hearts and had been an extremely important and prominent player for the club for about four or five seasons - Cox more than filled the void that was left. Since joining ICT in 2009, Lee has made 60 appearances for Caley, scoring 3 goals. Out of the 3 goals, do any of them stand out as a favourite? Probably his ninetieth minute winner in the first game of the 2009/10 season away to Dunfermline Athletic. That was also his league debut for ICT. What type of player is Lee? A battling central midfielder who isn't afraid to get stuck in and can play the ball well. He can also play as a right full back though this is not his main position. What are your thoughts on Lee's current ability, any room for improvement? He has ability and is at an age where he can only improve, so really just improve on what he already has. He has potential though, that's for sure. Paolo Di Canio has been known to get the best out of the Swindon players- most notably Simon Ferry, Matt Ritchie, Paul Caddis and Aden Flint. Do you consider Lee to have any strengths or weaknesses, and do you think Paolo could improve his game? I think as I said previously, just continue on the road he is taking. He has potential and many capabilities that make him a good central midfielder and just needs to keep working on the attributes he already has in order to become the best player he can be. The one weakness he maybe has it that at times he does seem rather injury-prone. Just how much will Caley miss Lee? There has certainly been mixed reactions after Inverness supporters finding out an offer had been accepted. I think you have to remember that £25,000 is a lot of money to a club like ICT - particularly when that player could leave for free in a few months anyway. While he is a good player and most would rather he would stay, he isn't in my opinion as good as some of the other central midfielders at the club. Andrew Shinnie, Greg Tansey and the currently long term injured Welsh international Owain Tudur Jones would probably be regarded as better options at this time. It's also the case that the club captain and former striker Richie Foran seems to have been converted to a defensive midfielder recently and has produced some admirable performances, again perhaps leaving Cox out of the starting eleven. And finally, what can Swindon fans expect of Lee? A hard battling central midfielder, who won't shy away from a challenge, can pick a pass and will chip in with the odd goal now and then. His attitude too is maybe something to mention. This can also be seen from when he first came to Inverness from Leicester City. Before the start of the season, he hurt his arm badly after falling through a glass table! Despite being advised to take a break and not risk further injury to it, he was adamant that he would play anyway, and did so while wearing a very noticeable cast. During this time he produced some excellent performances, which perhaps sums up the attitude he has as a player and another attribute which he will bring to Swindon Town.

A strong, powerful attacking set up for me putting Celtic under as much pressure as possible - Esson Meekings Tokely Williams Gillet Hayes Tansey Foran Gnakpa Tade Sutherland Subs - Tuffey, Piermayr, G.Shinnie, McKay, Winall

Disappointed, as ICT should have won that game. There was four or five really good chances in the second half and how at least one of them didn't go in I'll never know - but with the clock winding down and appearing at times that Nick Ross was playing as the lone striker, what did you expect? Nobody was really at their best today, apart from Gillet - he was the best player on the pitch by an absolute mile. Tokely was okay, Hayes had his moments and the new guy Gnakpa showed that he offers something new. Tade and Foran didn't have one of their better games by their standards - the latter in particularly was flying in all over the place, and his booking was stupid on his part. Also, how does Nick Ross stay on the field for ninety minutes? He seems awfully weak and really doesn't add much to the team at all. With the game there for the taking, it should of been him that was hooked instead of Tade or Sutherland. Anyway, another clean sheet. Not too bad I suppose, but ICT really should of won that.

Yeah, that went through my mind as well.... Hopefully it means "I will come down and see you" not a "I'll be playing against you" kind of "see you soon".

Oh dear, I see whoever runs the ICT Fans Twitter page thought that he was a new player!

Hmm Jonny Hayes says - As good as gone then by the sounds of things.

Indeed, and Richie Foran was only getting a game for the Southend reserve team apparently. According to someone on P&B who's seen him play him, he's great at right wing but dreadful as a defender. If anything, at least he sounds exciting!

I saw him with Tade this afternoon in Starbucks. Just thought I'd share that with you.

Indeed, even though the OP says he wouldn't like to see it, it shouldn't even have been put forward.

Just out of interest, how do you pronounce his name?! Jinack-Pa?
