  1. We certainly did during his first spell at the club. In fact I think that's where he played on Feb 8th 2000, and he was excellent that night. He also had a spell there towards the end of season 07/08 when Munro got injured. Hastings played the last four or five games at CB while McBain moved to LB IIRC. He was okay at best there.

Funnily enough, when Boardroom Banter was on the go, I did once ask if we could have a one-off "Butcher's Banter". IIRC is was only a couple of months after TB had become ICT manager. When the reply came, they said they'd put to Butcher and Malpas to see if it could be done. Well, I never heard about it again after that, so whether they ever did ask Butcher or he wasn't keen, I have no idea.
  3. Esson Duff Tokely Munro Shinnie Hayes Duncan McBain Odhiambo Rooney Foran Subs - Tuffey, Morrison, Blumenshtein, Ross, McCann, Sanchez, Innes I guess I'll just have to put some injured players on the bench to fill up space!
  4. Walker - retired from football to help run the family business Ridgers - Nairn County McNulty - Was at Elgin until end of last season but not there now. ??? Smith - no information after leaving ICT. Zibi - went to OKS 1945 Olsztyn (Poland) but now at Korona Kielce (Poland) Come to think of it, I'm sure I read somewhere that Smith went to college in America after leaving ICT. Where he went there, I don't know, what he's doing now, I don't know, and if he carried on playing football there, I really have no idea.
  5. Some of ICT's ex-goalies seem to have disappeared completely. Whatever happened to Nicky Walker, Ally Ridgers, Andy McNulty and Johnathon Smith? And most of all, whatever happened to Zibi?!
  6. What about Crystal Palace? Similar shirts, similar badge, and sometimes, should do better.
  7. Exactly, how could you? I'm more making the point of that it's a bit hypocritical to criticise the formation Butcher played, when it's the same formation you yourself would of played had you been in charge.
  8. ICT lined up 5-4-1, I know, as I was there and saw it myself.

I doubt someone like Ricksen would come here, he is the kind of hardman ICT could do with though.
  10. Well that was bad, very bad. I almost curled up in my seat in embarrassment! Fair play to Celtic though, they played some snazzy stuff at times, and it could well have ended in double figures...........no really! Everything that could've gone for ICT essentially did. Outplayed and outclassed. Only Nick Ross I could really say had a good game, while Foran tried hard and Tuffey did okay. Sadly though, the same can't be said for one David Proctor. He was rotten yesterday, absolutely stinkingly bad! His goal-line "clearance" own goal was comical. I would go as far to say a blindfolded Djebi-Zadi would have defended better! If McCann is injured get Tokely to right back ASAP. While I'm not calling for his head, I do have to say that a good chunk of the blame has to land at Terry Butcher's door. 5-4-1? What was all that about? Sutherland up front on his own? He was helpless up there and had nothing to work with. I was actually rather optimistic before the start of the game, I didn't think we'd see an ICT win but I did think they'd give Celtic a good game. Unfortunately that all changed when I say the team line up on the big screen. It was just baffling. My impression of what Butcher was going to do was try and contain Celtic for 70 odd minutes before unleashing Foran and Rooney, but you can't play like that. If you let Celtic have the ball they'll beat you, and that they certainly did. In saying that though, I'd rather lose 6-0 in the CIS Cup than I would in the SPL, but it still isn't good enough.
  11. So you write a post calling for Butcher's head with one of the reasons being that the formation he played was wrong, yet it's the exact same thing you would've played!?
  12. Esson Tokely Munro Golabek Shinnie McBain Duncan Duff Hayes Rooney Foran Subs - Tuffey, Ross, Sutherland, Sanchez, Proctor, Odhiambo, Morrison
  13. And that was pretty hopeless as well. ICT are essentially screwed from the very beginning, cause they can't pass nor can they deal with long balls.
  14. Dear oh dear, that was head in hands stuff today. The defence was carved wide open time and time again, and that cost ICT dearly. Munro was medicore and just boots it up the park, Innes was unimpressive and Proctor hasn't the abilty, nor the intelligence to deal with speed. Tokely I thought started off alright, but he ain't a left back. Bring back Golly, or McBain, or even Shinnie! Hayes worked hard, Odhiambo was okay and Nick Ross was far better than he was against Hamilton. A much improved performance by him, and it was his making that set up the goal. Rooney looked lost without the distribution, while Duff was okay at times. I think Sutherland looks a player and should perhaps get a start next week. The main culprit for the loss though, has to be the manager. The tactics were the same as they were against Hamilton. Long ball, after long ball, after long ball punted somewhere in Rooney's direction. It didn't work then, it didn't work today. He had two weeks to fix it, but he didn't fix it and that's not good enough. It was a great achievement getting promoted, but saying up is another thing altogether, one which I'm not certain he's up to.

Esson McCann Tokely Munro Gillet Duff Duncan Cox Odhiambo Rooney Hayes Subs - Tuffey, Sanchez, McBain, Ross, Proctor, Innes, Sutherland If Sanchez, Gillet and/or McCann are out, I'd move Tokely onto right-back with Innes moving in should McCann be out, with McBain coming in for Gillet.

Nothing, he was here, he did well, now he has gone. No booing from me, nor any applause, it's the players at ICT at this present moment that I am interested in.

  18. I'm rather undecided on this signing. Whilst I suppose it is cover for the first team, I wasn't particularly impressed with him the last time he was here. He's not a bad player, but from what I've seen, he isn't particularly good either. It also makes me wonder of this means that McCann will be away for good in January, with Duff taking up the first team role at right back.
  19. I take it that Supersport United didn't want him then?
  20. A point to ponder here, could this game have been the first time in Scottish/British/European football where two Asian-born managers have faced each other?
  21. It's not the first time the MOTM award has been a bit bizarre. I seem to recollect last season after the Morton 1-0 borefest, Odhiambo (who'd had a horrible game) was awarded it, and a few seasons ago Ian Black seemed to be the default awardee no matter how he played.
  22. I think it says a lot about ICT's performance when some of us can't decide whether certain players were the best or the worst!
  23. Renegade replied to Pedz4king's topic in Caley Thistle
That's an interesting point. I reckon that every time I've seen Ross have a good game, it's been when he's been on the right. If it is indeed the case that ICT continue with Hayes mainly on the right and with Foran out, then Shinnie (I young player I rate highly BTW) may be a better option.
  24. Renegade replied to Pedz4king's topic in Caley Thistle
To be fair to Nick Ross, whilst not necessarily have a good game IMO he did seem to come more into things a bit more in the second half and I have seen him on a number of occasions have a good game. He certainly wasn't the worst player today, (that was a certain Mr Proctor) but I do think he needs to bulk up a bit.
  25. If football was a game like tennis or badminton then Imrie would be world class. Unfortunately football is a team game and wee Douglas was only interested in himself.
