The Official World Cup Thread
I reckon the standard of the New Zealand team is higher of that of the current Scotland squad.

Well that's Italy gone, finished below New Zealand - unbelievable stuff. I know they had a couple of debatable decisions go against them, but they still deserved to go as they were pretty rubbish in each game. Well done to New Zealand though, they might be out on goal difference, but I thought they played well in each game and weren't the no-hopers many had them down as. Chile v Spain tomorrow, possibly the game of the tournament?

I know who I want to be the next ICT manager - Ricki Herbert! Interesting to note as well, if you read Steve Paterson's book, he says that he and the current New Zealand manager were big friends during the time they had at Sydney Olympic. A Herbert/Paterson dream time...?

Terry Butcher on Tele now
I'm not sure Butcher's got the right attitude to be England boss. Imagine if they came up against Argentina. He still seems awfully bitter about a lot of things.

Will Hamiton end up ahead of ICT?
And wee Dougie Imrie!

Terry Butcher on Tele now
Not necessarily so. He was also referred to as "Ex-Scotland Assistant" (no relevance there) and I think I also heard him on one occasion as "Ex-Motherwell Manager"!

Terry Butcher on Tele now
I've seen quite a few programmes Butcher's been on since he joined ICT, and the club never get mentioned. If it were me, I'd slip a couple of ICT references in, just to give the club a bit of a name-check and a bit of PR. Butcher never does though, whether it be on his recent Sky Sports appearances, "James Corden's World Cup Live" or the infamous Champions League coverage caption fiasco. Unless of course, he's using this coverage to bring up opportunities for where his next move could be.

I've watched both the Slovenia games so far, and if England can't beat Algeria then they won't beat Slovenia either. From what I've seen, Slovenia are a good side, though I think England will certainly up their game.

Tokely destination
The official site seems to take forever to update, it's the last place I check for ICT news. Until I read his book, I hadn't realised what a trans-continental career Pele had had. I wonder if Beijing Gouan were the team after him. They do have Maurice Ross at the moment. His influence perhaps?

CaleyJags sign 9 stars of tomorrow
I would argue that Jimmy is a victim of timing. Had ICT been around in the senior leagues when he was a "young" keeper and put in performances such as we witnessed on a weekly basis against teams both big and small I am sure he would have gone a lot further. Lets not forget that as a 'lower league keeper' he did keep both Nicky Walker (a former international) and Les Fridge (ex Chelsea and St Mirren in the top flight) out of the team !!! Les Fridge was rubbish though!

Is it not the case though, that Uruguay and Mexico just need to draw their game for them both to go through? If that is the case then expect 90 minutes of neither side trying to score with easy slow passing to each with a few kicky uppys just for good measure.

That's that Colin Murray. Some DJ off Radio 1 and used to do the Channel 5 games. Oh, and by the way, has anyone been listening to Chris Moyles's "Comedy Commentary"? No, I haven't neither.

Fixture list
That's not a sneak peak of the new ICT home kit is it?! :D

Watched the Chile v Honduras game earlier (I haven't missed a game yet!), and thought Chile looked good. Real fast paced, attacking stuff, something that's been lacked in the World Cup so far.

I think it's time this site had a bit of World Cup fever! Click Here It's just CTO as normal though. A bunch of trumpets droning on and on. :022:

Pre-Season Friendlies / Early Season Games
Crewe haven't been a Premiership side for about twenty years! Ex-Premiership indeed.

Charlie Christie's surely a bit too old for the Under 19s is he not?

Butch being a bit too harsh?
I'd probably stick with Green. He may have made one freak mistake, but he also had one excellent save as well.

Personally, I thought that Ghana looked really good. Oh, and only two days till North Korea, I can't wait!

Chick Young @ World Cup
Has anyone actually seen Chic Young at the World Cup yet? I don't think I've seen him at all.

I was going to say that myself. Some of the goalies seem to take goal kicks that go the length of the pitch and out for another one. The bounce on it is terrible as well, I wonder if we'll see any goals from simple long balled free kick from the other half that bounces over the keepers head.

Get posting on all things World Cup! Thought the first game was pretty good and a draw was a fair result. What about those horns though? I'll think I'll get one of them for the Caley Park!

Greatest Ever Goal versus England!
And if that is a true reflection of the typical Scottish man you have a serious problem. Well educated looking bunch aren't they? What a total cringe fest that video is. And a horrible song as well I have to say. I listened to about 10 seconds and could bare no more!

Greatest Ever Goal versus England!
What about the mighty Kirin Cup a few years ago? Scotland had to beat such world powerhouses as Japan and Bulgaria to win that!
-
Greatest Ever Goal versus England!
I'm not an England supporter, nor a Scotland one for that matter, but I find all this ABE stuff a bit cringeworthy. It just shows what a rather backwards country we can be at times, but sadly, I'm not surprised.
