Probably because Man United seldom lose at Old Trafford so he never finds himself in such a position where the crowd are getting on at him in the manner they were with Butcher and Malpas. Probably because he plays entertaining football, especially at home. Something Terryboy doesn't. Probably because Man United seldom lose at Old Trafford so he never finds himself in such a position where the crowd are getting on at him in the manner they were with Butcher and Malpas. This is the guy that threw a football boot at David Beckham... I'm sure his outburst would have been a lot worse if he was receiving the same abuse/criticism from our fans. He let rip at Beckham and the rest of them, but that was behind the closed doors of the home dressing room. I'm pretty sure he does have his own view on some supports, but he'd never embarrass himself by doing it in the dugout.

Butcher's outburst has to be one of the most unprofessional incidents I've ever known of from a football manager. You never see Alex Ferguson turning round and swearing at the Old Trafford support, he might have his own views on them, but he wouldn't embarrass himself with a barage of swear words directed at them. His little outburst strikes me of a manager under pressure. A manager who isn't under pressure doesn't lose his cool like that. In a way, I'm not really surprised, it's common knowledge that Malpas is an arrogant little man, and Butcher's a bit like that as well. Have a look at some of the choice words about Sydney FC. Sounds a bit bitter to me and again, not very professional, but not surprising. It's always been clear that Butcher has an ego that tied to a basket, he could fly round the world in. Notice as well, he was very quick to say how bad his players were against County and Partick, but when the negativity is on him, he can't handle it.

I don't think I've ever seen a slower winger. Which would be okay if he could the other stuff, but he doesn't. He can't pass, can't beat a man, can't tackle. He might have a good cross, but never seems to able to get in the position to do it. Bring back Morgan I reckon.

Season 2007-2008 to the present day
Renegade replied to IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER's topic in Caley Thistle
Playing the most boring football ever in ICT's existence. -
So you want to take out Tokely and put Proctor in, who's been rubbish all season, keep Bombscare Bulvitis in, shaky Golabek, can't pass Duncan and does nothing Sanchez. Okay... They'll do as I tell them.

1. ICT draw against Raith and fail to beat Dunfermline. Graham Bayne is too much of a handfull for Bulvitis and runs him ragged. I see a real gubbing happening in the near future as well. 2. Pressure starts to mount on Butcher and Malpas. 3. Rumours brake out that Butcher and Malpas fall out with a first team squad player, likely one that is not one of Butcher's signings, but still a regular in the first team. ICT lose the Challenge Cup final. 4. The aforementioned player, seems to go the way for Hastings, Vigurs and McBain and seems to disappear completely. 5. After one final gubbing from a team that should not even be a match for ICT, Butcher walks followed afterwards by Malpas, only after strong rumours that he's going to take over. Outrage his shown by the fans, not wanting to see another management dud in the dugout. 6. To his disgust Malpas is not offered the job, he see's as rightfully his. He leaves ICT saying that the conditions he was working was "difficult". He also has a few choice words to say about the mindset and attitudes of the ICT support. 7. In the press a few days later, Butcher sights "money problems" as the reason he left. He also says the ICT's supporters mindset was "backwards" and "unrealistic". 8. ICT start looking for a new boss. Former managers are heavily linked with the job, with Paterson and Robertson heavily touted. A former less likely boss may also throw his hat into the ring. There may even be the possibility of a big name boss being interested (Mr Adriles perhaps but not necessarily). The fans seems quite keen on the big name but nothing comes of it. ICT supporters seem very keen on one other name in particular but he isn't given the job. Some fans call for a certain CTO poster to be given the job, and a small campaign begin. The poster keeps quite on the campaign and is not given the job. ICT appoint a manager who know his football and may or may not have been in the game for a while. They don't make the mistake of rushing the process. 9. Brewster comes out saying he can understand Butcher's "displeasure". 10. After some of Butcher's dead wood signings are shown the door, ICT bring in some talented youngsters. A former hero may also make his return. 11. ICT have a decent Scottish Cup run but narrowly miss out on a trip to Hampden. A final push is taken for promotion, but the Championship place is missed out a few weeks before the end of the season. Most ICT fans see the second half of the season as a "relative success".

Oh come on, I'll eat my hat if this is true.
-
I thought he was quite good in the first half, one of the better ICT players. Second half, he seemed to disappear.

Anyone else spot Duncan's ridiculous antics to Bulvitis?
-
Because of the term's close association with India, it is now considered racist and anyone using it will be banned for life and jailed for 10 years. Probably. And the fact that one of County's most famous managers was born there...?
-
Now the term "gypsy" has been banned maybe it's time we came up with a new nickname for our somethimes rather unfriendly, garbage eating, rat faced neighbours. Someone has already mentioned calling them "Slumdogs", which is alright, but what about "the rednecks"? or "The Fortune Tellers"? I know, I know, these are rubbish, so does anyone have any of their own ideas?

It might be something people haven't touched on yet, and may disagree with, but I would never have gotten rid of Alan Morgan. He was far better on the wing than Eagle is just now.

Les Murray on Butcher
-
Notice as well, that Butcher is very quick to tell everyone how bad the team was how the fans had every right to boo them off, but when the tide changes and the negative comments are made about him, he can't take it.
-
Butcher put him in at centre-half, whilst the natural centre-half in Mihadjuks started at right back. Madness.
-
According to here, Sydney are, according to Butcher, the "gypsy club".

I actually thought ICT might sneak a win today, but in true ICT fashion, blew it....again! :029: Besides the first goal in about 30 seconds, ICT were the better team in the first half, and for parts of the second, but once again gave the ball away stupidly, once again had no control and had no communication. The last two goals for the Queens were quite simply scored via the defence falling asleep. Funnily enough though, the performance was a bit better than previous weeks, but still not good enough. Renegade's results are in, and here they are: Esson - :022: - Didn't have much to do but did pretty well when called upon. Once again let down by a poor defence. Tokely - :022: :022: - Did very well in the first half and was unlucky not to score with a good shot. As ever good going forward but seemed to disappear in the second half. Bulvitis - :022: :024: - Far better than the last couple of weeks. Passed the ball simply, which was better and made himself available at goal kicks which was good. Still not the answer though and ICT really need a decent centre-half in January. Munro - :022: :022: :022: - Again looked solid and steady and held it together the best he could with what he had. Golabek - :020: :020: :020: - Useless at times and looked shakier than an earthquake. His madness along with Sanchez's was what led to the first goal. Had that been Lionel making that performance, people would be foaming at the mouth after that performance. At this rate, he might actually do better! Hayes - :022: :022: :022: - Looked the most dangerous player in the ICT squad. Skillfull on the wing. Good goal from the free kick as well. Cox - :022: - Gave a lot today. Far better than he has usually been recently. Seems to be more like his old self. Don't recognise him without the cast though. Duncan - :024: - Seemed to be a bit better than usual today. Still not exactly amazing and still can't pass at all. Eagle - - What exactly does he add to the team? Barely in the game at all. Sanchez - - What does he do exactly? Spent have the time on the ground, but the rest of the time didn't seem't have a clue. Gives possession away a heck of a lot as well. Foran - :022: :022: - Put the effort in, but needs someone to feed off. SUBS - Rooney - - Doesn't do anything. Not a very good player. Imrie - :) - Put the effort in, but didn't have long enough to really do anything. __________________________________________________________________ Butcher/Malpas - :33: - Sorry but what we you thinking? 4-5-1 up front at home again!? Madness. Foran up front by himself, can't you see he needs someone to help him? And where was Ross? Where was Shinnie? Where was Barrowman? Where was McBain? Oh yeah that's right, they aren't good as your beloved Stratford. Still far too defensive at home and still a few too many long balls. And whatever happened to communication and ball control? Seems to have disappeared under Butcher.

According to today's Courier, Butcher still hasn't decided whether or not he'll put Tokely in defence from the start, due to last weeks defence keeping a clean. He also goes on to say, that if he does start him, he's not sure where to start him, citing the right back and centre back postitions as possibilties, or perhaps in the midfield. I must say, it it was me there would be no contest in considering puting Tokely back. The sooner the Disaster Duo of Proctor and Bulvitis is split up the better.

I didn't know Robert the Bruce was a football manager.
-
IIRC that bloke Dorrans who's also in the squad, was nearly at ICT. Brew tried to sign him from Livvy , but he went to West Brom instead. I also, I think the reason Brew signed Imrie was because of his failure to capture Dorrans.

I had quite a lot of the page being unable to connect, especially on Saturday night.
