  1. Black is an absolute angel - butter wouldn't melt, and it's all other people's fault...
  2. I'm actually quite a good lip reader... I'm not sure exactly what he said to the linesman but it was something like : ya wucking fanker. What on earth's wrong with that?
  3. Malpas getting the job would clearly upset and annoy a lot of supporters.... That's why I think he'll get it!
  4. I'm not disputing the penalty award - just saying it was one of these that comes into the "soft" category - sometimes given - sometimes not. McBain could have, and should have been warned about the way he was reacting - A good ref would have done just that - I just don't believe his behaviour merited a straight red card. Now of course we lose his services for the Celtic game, which doesn't do us any favours. It is extremely harsh. I think the club should appeal against that decision.
  5. Bad mouthing the officials has now become part of the modern game. (In fact it has been for some time now) Good refs will on occasion understand the frustration and feelings of a player who has been on the wrong end of a dubious ruling, and will often issue nothing more than a stern warning. Unfortunately common sense wasn't applied in this instance, and it has cost us very dearly indeed.
  6. I was addressing the events that led to McBain's red card, and attempting to explain why the red mist might have descended. As I said in my post, bad decisions by referees, backed up by their assistants, can seriously affect a players livelihood.... It's not always easy to accept such decisions with good grace. I might be wrong here.... but I think you might find, maybe just find that Roy McBain would agree with me on this one...
  7. I've never seen so many short sighted posts on one thread in all my life... The problem wasn't the penalty itself - it actually started with Obua's goal.... That goal should never have been allowed to stand - Obua got nowhere near the ball -he just charged into Esson while his feet were off the deck as he tried to catch the ball.. it was a clear foul on the keeper. Nobody expected that goal to stand... but it did. Decisions like that can seriously affect a professional player's livelyhood.... That decision could even end up being the difference between SPL and Div 1 football next season... So how was Roy supposed to feel, when Conroy added insult to the proceedings by awarding the penalty? This was adjudged by most neutral observers at the game, to be one of the extremely soft variety.. Of course Roy should have said something like.. " Oh referree, are you sure that was a penalty?" But he didn't say that... Of course he didn't feckin say that.... he's a feckin human being - thank God. What would anyone else in his position, with half a brain have said to the ref?

I agree with all that except for the bit about Archie Knox...
  10. Magic.!
  11. Perhaps they think Robbo lives too far away from the stadium to be considered....

ARCHIE'S CURSE And so another Premier League manager is off to the Job Centre. This time it`s Blackburn boss Paul Ince, who has been give his P45 in time for Christmas. So much for the season of good will to all men. Reasons will continue to be advanced for Ince`s failure. Tactical naivety, poor man management and the inability to organise his defence will be among them, as will the idea that the step up from League Two football was too much for him. However, there`s a more sinister factor. It`s called Archie Knox. Sammy Lee appointed him as his number two at Bolton and lasted nine league games after that before being given the boot. Ince called on the services of the Scotsman and did only slightly better, surviving seventeen matches before having the chance to spend more time with his family. Whoever takes over at Blackburn would do well to indulge in the pastime known as Axing Archie. Allowing him to remain is like having the Grim Reaper on the staff.
  13. Are you sure about that? He did say on Radio Scotland he hadn't heard anything from the club after submitting an application.. Given the way the management of this club operate, I would be surprised if his application was even acknowledged.

Looking more and more like Brewster's successor. Personally I think it would a big mistake... but nothing surprises me anymore at the manner in which the ICT board and the DoF arrive at these decisions...

Maybe they took the view that to do so, might compromise their impartiality...
  16. I think the points docking process should start today..... To the tune of 3!!
  17. He could look good in the reserves, (saw him several times) but he was never SPL 1st team material...
  18. You would rather gamble with Knox?
  19. Johnboy replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
What's Knox ever achieved as a football manager?
  20. I hope anyone going tomorrow does start up a Robbo Robbo chant... I'm sure it would urge on the players.... Maybe the Jambos could join in too!

Never really proved himself as an out and out manager. Great coach all the same....
  22. Plus Bennetts got to pick the team and decide how they approach the Hearts game tomorrow... Still.... I'm sure he'll take it all in his stride...

I don't really think we need anyone who goes round defecating in other people's shoes...
  24. A bit different from the manner in which Brewster was appointed... BUT I sincerely hope you're right.
  25. ICT board - Please note...
