Thanks Absent Friend... I realise now my response to CaleyD's post could have been mis-interpreted. I was trying to make the point it was rather a long one... Being serious for once I thought it was an excellent post and a very accurate summation of the events that have unfolded at the club since the appointment of Mr Savage... Scotty's comments on David Sutherland also made good and interesting reading...

Unfortunately we don't have too many Ian Black types in our squad ready to take his place... That's why I wish Brewster could have thought out an alternative punishment for his latest mis-demeanour - whatever it was.... Dropping him does no favours for our team whatsoever.... :018:

Sorry Stevico... Marius to me is no more than a very useful squad player, who does have undoubted skills and has had some decent strikes for us... I have commented on him positively in the past... The point is there are around 20 other players who reguarly feature in our first team squad... Just for once... Could you maybe try and mention one of them in a post apart, from you know who..? Are you really so blinkered you only ever see one player on the field when Caley are playing..?

Unfortunately Brew seems to have adopted a Graeme Souness style of mangement, and is having about as much success with it as he did. I would love to see him turn ICT's fortunes around, but I can't see it happening now.... So.... Put me down for "not sure" :024:

Just been confirmed on STV news... Black has been axed from the squad for the Aberdeen game after a row with Brewster.... Brewster has said the matter is being dealt with internally... Whatever the f... that means... :020: :020: :020:

This morning's Courier carries an interview with Brewster in which he enthuses over Niculae's goal in Bucharest. "I'm sure Marius will have had a major lift from his performance for Romania, he said "I'm just hoping that his new found confidence can also have a positive effect on the rest of the squad. He's done it for his country in terms of scoring a goal. Now he has to do it for us on Saturday" Words like "straws" and "clutching" spring to mind for me here... The article goes on to say.... Rumours of dressing room unrest and problems behind the scenes are two reasons beng put forward by the fans concerned at this recent run of poor form. Brewster accepts that some of the stick is justified, but maintains they are only one win away from turning the corner. "If you go so many games without a win, your pride takes a bit of a dent, and you start trying to look for excuses when the main reason is probably just a lack of confidence". At certain international levels.... yes. Marius has scored 6 or 7 goals for us in the SPL so far this season... None of these were as easy as the gift he was presented with last night...

Another international goal on his CV won't do him (or us) any harm at all.... :022: But let's not get carried away here... the Russian defending was terrible... Marius and his mate were queing up to nod the ball into virtually an empty net... Opportunities like that don't present themselves too often in the SPL.
