  1. Absent Friend : Have you read any of the reports into this tragic case? Read This Then tell me why you don't think this guy should receive a custodial sentence.
  2. AF... The car he was pursuing was suspected of having been stolen. The police driver decided to pursue it without putting on sirens, flashing lights etc - that action alone might have given the girl a chance... He was completely irresponsible and he deserves to be locked up for manslaughter.
  3. You're surely being a wee bit hard on rapists and paedophiles here? As far as the others are concerned hanging would be too good for them.
  4. Agree with H/Dee.... Rory McIllroy is a fantastic prospect and is bound to win a major any day now. Definitely worth a flutter at 33/1
  5. Jean Charles de Menezes sprang to my mind too when I heard of this latest police attrocity... Birdog... that guy wasn't even part of the G20 demonstrations... he was just a passer-by trying to make his way home. The police will know who actually carried out that brutal and unprovoked assault... Will anyone be charged over it?
  6. Not at all, Absent Friend. However there is a time and a place for everything.... Now is not the time and TCS is certainly not the place for the broadcasting of any message in the Gaelic language.
  7. Slight problem with you wanting Burns, he is dead. Tommy can communicate from beyond the grave.... I believe he picked the side that played against Iceland. It was definitely his decision to drop Ferguson and McGreggor.
  8. Me too.... I wish Burns or Souness had got the job.
  9. CD.... I sincerely trust you will treat the suggestion above with the contempt it deserves.
  10. A good footballer should be capable of playing in more than one position. I would like to see him tried in a cental midfield role alongside Blackie. His distribution/passing is good, he is good in the air and tackles pretty well. I don't think he should replace Munro in cental defence.... not yet anyway.
  11. It was a horrendous tackle and could easily have broken Iwelumo's leg... I thought it was a good game. Brilliantly taken goal by Gary O'Connor - couldn't believer Tevor Francis saying you would expect any striker to score from that position... Don't recall seeing him score many goals like that in his playing days....
  12. That really stinks....
  13. The whole game is featured tonight on the BBC Alba Channel from 8.00pm. If only they could get hold of some English speaking presenters, commentators, etc on that channel... it would be absolutely brilliant.... Maybe they don't realise there are quite a lot of people in this country that can now speak English.... A lot of them probably switch it off because they won't be able to understand it....
  14. CC did the Setanta summarising thing at one of the Celtic games last season, I thought he was first class and would have been an automatic choice for future TV coverage. You have to say though that CB has a terrific face for radio coverage.
  15. Pleeeeeeze!
  16. Im just praying Dargo & Wyness don't come back here and haunt us.
  17. I went to Methil about twenty years ago to watch East Fife vs Dunfermline. My abiding memory of that day was Norrie McCathie of Dunfermline attempting to punt the ball up the park, but he sliced his kick and the ball ended up heading for the roof of the stand. The couple of hundred bods in there instinctively covered their heads with their hands... I was puzzled for a few seconds until I realised a heavy shower of rust particles was descending from the roof covering everything and everybody in sight....
  18. Alex...First of all my heartfelt sympathy to you for the pain you must be feeling for your lost colleagues. Something that has puzzled me for a long time. Why do they fly over the sea at an altitude of 3000ft? What would be wrong with flying at a couple of hundred feet? In something like a major gear box failure surely the passengers and crew would have a decent chance of surviving the impact of a crash into the sea from that height?
  19. You've really got feel for all the guys (and girls) who work offshore and their families when a chopper crashes in circumstances like we have witnessed today. Just about everyone knows someone who works offshore - Alex Macleod - one of our regular contributors is well known to many on here and the first thought on hearing news like today's is oh, my god... I hope Alex is ok... I know quite a few others too who work offshore, as I'm sure do several others on here. The safety record of the chopper that crashed today is very good, but that won't be much comfort to the families of those involved in today'a accident. Very sad.... RIP all those who perished today.
  20. I toured around Donegal a couple of years ago, on a wee golf holiday... I loved the place...The craic and the music in the pubs was superb but yes, it is very expensive. Are you not spending anytime in Scotland Canada Bob? Here in Wetherspoons in Church St, you can get a pint for 99p and steak pie and chips is about a fiver! No such thing as a cheap holiday abroad at the moment.
  21. Good win tonight for our guys but by god it was a struggle. The last five minutes with Craig Gordon's goal under siege, seemed like an eternity. Ross McCormack looks to have a good future at this level, but somehow I can't see Scotland winning the world cup in 2010.
  22. Johnboy ya daftie ,yer were heading the wrang way over the bridge whit happened to you on Saturday?? H/Dee : I've been a huge fan of Brewster the player for a long time... When I heard he wasn't going to be playing on Saturday I had to have a long hard think about it.... There was a wee flurry of snow around here at 12.00 and I remembered this quote of yours from another thread and thought... feck it. Being Scottish is about standing at places like Gayfield and Methil freezing to death watching fitba in conditions that fowk would get prosecuted for taking their dog out in,
  23. Don't you mean Falkirk? No. Its up north near Wick Yeah I know.... but is it the "worst town/city/village/ you've ever been to? If so... Why?
  24. Don't you mean Falkirk?
  25. Coatbridge is beautiful at this time of year... Cumbernauld would probably get my vote, with Dundee a close second. Someone told me once the best view of Dundee is the one in your rearview mirror as you head across the Tay Bridge to the hallowed sanctuary of the Kingdom of Fife.
