  1. I suggested when Brewster was sacked that Robbo should have been appointed on a "caretaker" basis until the end of last season, when a sensible selection proccess could have taken place. I believe he (Robbo) would have kept us in the SPL... and would by now have been offered a decent contract by the club. The last few games of last season - especially Falkirk - convinced me that Butcher was a big mistake, and wasn't TM4TJ.
  2. All here Sorted... Impeccable credentials
  3. I don't think Barry is the player he was 5 years ago but I wouldn't argue with bringing him back.... especially if he was given a role in the management team.
  4. Seems blindingly obvious to me that one manager had his team well and truly fired up for yesterday's game, and the other one didn't.
  5. I wouldn't blame Lionel entirely for the defeat.... there were plenty of other abysmal performers out there today. How many times do we have to see Rooney one on one with an opposing keeper and shoot weakly straight at him?
  6. Yes, but he picks the feckin team....
  7. I'll always associate them with the theme tune for The Royle family...
  8. Dammitt.... I missed out there....
  9. Surely you can walk from B&Q?
  10. As I don't come from this area, I not getting over excited about this one.... Should be a great atmosphere all the same. I can understand it is a massive fixture for most of the fans, but personally I much prefer to see ICT taking on the Old Firm - and gubbing them. Roll on season 2010 - 11!
  11. Talking about media manipulation, I'm still puzzled by the waving of the Scottish Saltires to greet Megrahi at Tripoli Airport... Where did these people get these flags from? Are they on sale at every other corner shop in Tripoli? I don't think so. I did see a suggestion in the Scotsman the other day, that factions of the media brought these flags to the Libyans, in an attempt to discredit Scotland and make the story more sensational. I wouldn't put it past them.
  12. CD, whether you like it or not, there is now a sizeable element of the support who only go along to TCS concerned with what music you will select, and what words of wisdom you will come out with to urge the team on! It is rapidly becoming a more interesting topic of conversation than Butcher's team selections. I'm wondering if anyone one from Channel 4's Big Brother has approached you, sounding you out for an appearance on the next (and last) series of that show?

  14. Charles is an educated man, 5thStand - he's not like you and me. I just think we are entitled to expect a better quality post than the one above, from a man of his impeccable credentials.
  15. No, no... not Las Malvinas 1982 but Argentina, World Cup 1978... 3-1 defeat by Peru, 1-1 draw with Iran, ignominious exit tainted by a drugs scandal, and all that after Ally MacLeod proclaimed that "we're going to win the world cup". Here was an "external" disaster in the best Scottish "here we go here we go here we go... oops sh!t lads, looks like we've bitten off more than we can chew here" traditions of Flodden and Darien. On the other hand I'm not sure how we could "blame the English" for 1978 as tends to be the case with Flodden where their Second Team (their First Team was away to France that day) simply gave us a good doing and told us to clear off home again. And of course in the case of Darien they were simply nasty, nasty boys solely responsible for sabotaging an otherwise wonderfully thought out enterprise. Darien??? But I thought colonies were only "an English(UK) thing." Difficult to blame the English for the Megrahi affair, but I suppose Gordy Brown as heid honcho of the Westminster Parliament is the next best thing. Charles : You are not making any sense at all here. Who's blaming, or even attempting to blame the English for the "Megrahi" affair?
  16. Wow, I thought I was unique in having a penchant for Canadian Club but only in airports ! Uncanny, do you think there are any more of us ? Gawd... I hope not.

Hey you.... Just quit winding people up.... There are few enough celebrities coming on here to post words of wisdom as it is... We have to try and keep a hold of this one... You never know, maybe someday he'll be back at the reins at ICT, and taking us to dizzy heights yet again!
  18. I'd better stop reading this thread...
  19. Are the SNP squirming? I'd say their credibilty as the governing party in Scotland has risen dramatically over the past few days. That much could hardly be said of the opposition parties!
  20. Hardly likely to live for many years to come, given the standards of medical care available in Libya....Cancer sufferers there tend to come here, seeking treatment! Good question about the Scottish flags.... Having watched MacAskill being "grilled" by MSPs this afternoon, I was very surprised no one - from Annabel Goldie to that ghastly Margaret Curran woman, thought to ask him that. Well done the SNP government and K.Mac... You're doing Scotland proud!
  21. Indeed.... I'm so pleased for them.
  22. Excellent article here on these points
  23. How many can you squeeze into your stretched limo for the run back to Sneck?
  24. The celebrations last night were regretable... The Scottish Government had been assured by Libya that this would not happen... Unfortunately, for reasons of recent history, America is the most despised nation on the planet, by virtually the whole of the Middle East... The reasons for that are not hard to understand. It might have been better if Obama hadn't appealed to the Libyans to behave in a more dignified manner on al Megrahi's arrival in Tripoli. Regarding medical care for al Megrahi in this country, it was said last night he has, for several weeks now, been escorted to and from Inverclyde Hospital, Greenock, almost on a daily basis.
  25. Hearts totally outplayed tonight... Whether at club or national level, Scottish football's going rapidly downhill...
