  1. While i agree that these games provide good opportunities to pick up points, i think we should also be realistic. Take a wee look at Ayr's home record - they've lost just once in five games having beaten Raith and held Dundee and Partick to draws. Given that form, what right do we have to expect a win?
  2. There might be an argument for getting rid of them before the end of the season depending on just how committed they are to staying with the club in the long term. If we lose touch with the leaders and Butcher intends to leave at the end of his contract then why not start the rebuilding process as soon as possible? This is a hypothetical scenario of course. For now, i think we should be getting behind the manager and team as much as possible. It's a very tight league and a few wins would see us climb up it very quickly.
  3. The return of Oleg Blokhin's 4-2-3-1 which was devastatingly unpopular when Brewster played it. I think we would create more chances by playing Hayes, Sanchez and Imrie behind Foran, while Proctor and Duncan provide the solid platform that they need behind them. And it looks really pretty. ----------------ESSON---------------- TOKELY---BULVITIS---MUNRO---GOLABEK ----------PROCTOR--DUNCAN---------- HAYES---------SANCHEZ----------IMRIE ------------------FORAN-----------------
  4. Sounds good to me. The brothers McInnes and I will heading through nice and early. In my two previous trips to Somerset i've witnessed a 5-1 defeat and 3-3 draw. 6 goals will do again, as long as we get at least 4 of them.
  5. How did Allan McGregor manage to sneak into the last photo?
  6. It's not a bad result. Dunfermline are better than their league position suggests. We play the bottom 3 and County in our next 4 games. Good chance to go on a run and haul ourselves up the league.
  7. Well that's one monkey off our back - we haven't taken the lead at home in the league since the win over St. Mirren on April 4th. Now let's finish the job.
  8. Raith v QoS draw @ 3.50
  9. Highlights
  10. Richie Foran.
  11. They couldn't beat us at Dens though. I thought they were lucky to get the point. That day, i thought we might challenge for the league. We had played two very difficult away games and come away with four points. Events since then leave me feeling that my optimism was naive. We have too many new, inexperienced players and the experienced ones are on a downer having spent five seasons in the SPL. A title challenge is too much to ask and all i expect to see this season are positive signs for the future. Unfortunately, i see the opposite - short-term thinking and unrealistic ambition.
  12. I didn't realise they drew tonight so yes, it's possible we could've beaten Holland and still gone out on goal difference to Bosnia.
  13. Another 3 points would've seen us pip Ireland to the final play-off spot.

    Juanjo

Come on Yngwie, we all know that Juanjo just got a haircut and changed his name to Dani Sanchez.
  15. Sportsound devoted a fair amount of time to this (and ICT in general) tonight, with interviews with George Fraser and stevico. Unfortunately, most listeners will have been left with the impression that the club paid a huge signing on fee PLUS 4 grand a week to Marius, which we now know wasn't the case. Jim Duffy and Tom English gave us all a right good telling off for having ideas above our station. That applies to board for this stupid transfer and to the fans for getting on Butcher's back so early in the season.

    Eagle

One thing i'll say for Butcher is he's a lot more responsive to the demands we make on this forum than Brewster was. First Lionel, then Stratford and now Eagle have been dropped in the immediate aftermath of threads starting to demanding their removal. Now Terry, could you do something about the directors and the stewards?
  17. It's on Wikipedia so it must be true. Poor Deano's onto his 5th club since leaving us now. Glad to see he's knocking a few goals in though.
  18. That's an interesting explanation of events. Does anyone want to come out and offer an alternative one? For me, although this whole situation has been shrouded in mystery, i have always just assumed incompetence on the part of the muppets. Am i cynical (always assuming the worst from our board) or gullible (swallowing every word of IHE's colourful hyperbole)? I don't know. Maybe i'm just confused. Where is stevico?
  19. FT. Great result.
  20. Proctor and Imrie in for Eagle and Sanchez. What does this mean? I assume that Proctor will slot into the right midfield role that he made his own in the latter half of last season, while Imrie will play behind Foran with Hayes moving to the left. Or........it could be a complete change of formation.
  21. He turned 29 last month.
  22. Did anyone else make it this far into Renegade's post?
  23. ....depite going 1-0 down to an early peanlty from Nacho Novo. We haven't lost to Rath Rovers since October 2000, winning 10 out the 12 games played since then and scoring 33 goals in the process.
  24. And while our website advertises their businesses, this what what we get in return. Example from MacArthur & Co.'s profile of board member Ian MacDonald: That's what we are to these people. Inverness Thistle & Caledonian FC Ltd. Get them to feck.
  25. I hear Terry Butcher and Maurice Malpas did a fine job building a Motherwell team from scratch after a difficult start.
