  1. Skinner, Polwarth, Christie, Noble......i think there's a pattern emerging here.
  2. It's very worrying when you think about it like that. I think we might be pretty solid next season but we don't have one single player who can create chances with a clever through ball or take a man on and deliver a decent cross. As things stand, our most creative player is Dougie Imrie, but he can't be relied upon for consistency, nor does he have the quality to carry the team when its not playing well in the way that Barry Wilson or David Bingham used to. If this issue isn't addressed soon then we might find it difficult to break down the likes Montrose and Annan, never mind Dundee.
  3. I think we all recognise now that creative midfielders/wingers are what the squad lacks. In Duncan, McBain, Proctor and Cox, we've got the defensive midfield covered, but creativity is exactly what we lacked for most of last season (until Morais got fit) and will continue to lack without signings.
  4. Courier Article on Trialists Two Slovak forwards coming this week, possibly playing tomoorow night. Sanchez in Spain but Butcher will speak to him. Still hoping to sign Eagle.
  5. It has to be a concern. We are playing against only one full-time team before the league season kicks off. Maybe Butcher sees the two cup games as good preparation though, given that they will be competitive.
  6. We won it with 70 points last time and the same total would've won the league in any of the 5 seasons since then. However, the money Dundee are throwing around might change all that.
  7. It's not a Romanian consortium fronted by Georghes Hagi and Popescu, is it?

The`last three World Cup qualifiers are on the 12th of August and the 5th and 9th of September. We don't play on those days so there shouldn't be a problem.
  9. OK, perhaps a poor choice of words on my part. By the establishment, i simply mean those who are in power i.e. the board and major shareholders. I felt that there was a tone the posts of yourself, mainstander and Charles Bannerman, that suggested we fans should shut-up and let the people who know best get on with running the club in the way that they see fit. I feel that the level of dissent expressed on these boards over the last two seasons has been a perfectly natural response to some of the decisons that were made by those in charge.
  10. In our last stint in the First Division, average attendances came to little more than 2000. In the four years we spent in the division with County, our average attendance was always lower than theirs. We'll find out next season what effect five years of playing in the SPL has had on the fanbase. Hopefully we can add 500 or so to the crowds we were getting lat time, but even that might not be enough to compete with the likes of Dundee, Dunfermline and Partick who last season averaged 3788, 3112 and 2966 respectively.
  11. Absent Friend, Mainstander, Charles Bannerman - we have just been relegated. On the road to relegation a lot of decisions were made by managers, board members and shareholders that supporters are entitled to question and naturally wonder if they were the decisions that led to this outcome. Some of our most loyal supporters are being chastised on this thread for asking those questions. I'm glad that it's people like IHE who speak up in difficult times rather than friends of the establishment like you three who are willing to sit on their hands while people like Brewster and Bennett jeopordise the success and spirit that this club has built over the last fifteen years.
  12. Pele was a very successful Higland League manager before he came to us. On topic, i don't think this is the time to be having a go at Butcher or digging through his managerial history. He presided over a major turnaround in the team's spirit, organisation and results last season. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough, but the guy deserves our complete backing going into next season.
  13. Yeah, congratulations Pugsy. Now fluck off back over the bridge.
  14. Winning at Pittodrie, Easter Road and Ibrox. I'm still trying to come to terms with the fact that we were relegated in a season that saw us win at those grounds. Tokely's winner in Paisley was probably the highlight of the season for me though. I thought we'd done it that day. I'm still trying to come to terms with..........
  15. The day was bright and sunny But the game I wont relay And there was no Kilmarnock bunnet To make me want to stay But I'm not going to talk about it No, I'm not going to talk about it
  16. Aye, but we took it well. I don't think they quite realise that we won't cause anybody any hassle if they just leave us alone. And as The Knowledge has pointed out, it was Chibber's shiny, pointy, homosexual, tacky, cheap call centre shoes that got the barstewards attention in the first place. The away support has been fantastic for the last few weeks. Long may it continue.
  17. I thought we were very good for the first 10-15 minutes when we matched Motherwell's 4-3-3 by giving Imrie the freedom to support the strikers and drift to either flank. We really should've gone ahead during that period but Morais' flicks, Foran's flick-ons and Blackie's through balls didn't quite come off. Then Motherwell got a grip in midfield (mainly because our midfield was so wasteful) and by the time they opened the scoring Dougie bas back in right midfield where he stayed for the rest of the game. We were in danger being over-run when his flash of of genius set up Morias for the equaliser. We`played well for most of the second half and were unlucky not to get the win. IHE - i think you're being a bit harsh to our full-backs. Lionel didn't start well but he came onto a game and does wonders to create the second goal. Proctor obviously isn't in the same league as Rosscoe as a right-back but he's been pretty solid since he moved there. It was Rosscoe who lost his man for the first goal and a number of players were guilty of slackness for the second. Generally though, i've enjoyed watching Caley since Butcher took over, no more so than last night. The fight and spirit in the team is great and while we don't pass the ball all that well, in Foran, Imrie and Morais we have exciting forward players who, on their day, can give us a chance aginst anybody. We are staying up.
  18. This was the high point of the season so far. We`were very solid and even threatened to play football at times. The support was fantastic and Rosscoe rifled home a winner in Paisley! I can't ask for any more. Great day.

"Stan did you watch it online on gsp" I think so. The link came form ********. I was really impressed with Dinamo. Haven't seen any stats but they must've had about 70% of the ball. They did use the width of the pitch very well and could've scored many more than the 5 they got. Are they always this good or are Bistrita a small team?

FT 5-0 Dinamo. Great entertainment and a really sexy lineswoman as well. This is one of the best Tuesday afternoon's i've had for a long time.

This is fantastic stuff. The Dinamo keeper gets injured and having used all 3 substitutes they put hat-trick hero Marius Niculae in goals for the last 10 minutes.
  22. Caley Stan replied to a post in a topic in General Football
Marius just completed his hat-trick with another header. Yes, the quality of the crosses has been good, Dinamo also keep the ball very well and are clearly superior to the other team, Bistrita. Another factor is that Marius is playing on the last defender, very much like a penalty box striker, just like IHE always said he should.
  23. Caley Stan replied to a post in a topic in General Football
Marius just glanced in a header to put Dinamo 1-0 up. The guy didn't even jump for headers when he was with us.
  24. 8 teams in only 2 are picking Munro - Harry and IHE. Great minds.....
  25. It's because Setanta are going to show one of the games live but are picking it nearer the time, depending what game is more important. They cant show games live at 3pm so all the games are at 12.30 so that they kick off at same time and one can be on the tv The whole thing is bit of a nonsense. It's illegal to show live football between 1500 and 1700 hours on a Saturday (rightly so in my opinion) but it's fine for the TV companies to move all of the fixtures to get around the law. Kind of reminds me of John Teasdale.....
