  1. Bulvitis' contract is up in January. He's been shaky but obviously deserves the full season to prove himself. I'd still like to see us bring in a centre-half though. IMO getting rid of Barrowman and Lionel should be the first priority this window.
  2. I find it staggering that he takes their corners - from both sides. Is the top half the First Division better than than the bottom half of the SPL?
  3. na, na, na, na, na - na, na, - na, na, - na - naaaaaaaaaaaah, na naaaaaaaaaah na, na, na, na, na - na, na, - na, na, - na - naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, na naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah I'll be singing all night. Rooooooooooooooooooooooooneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey
  4. "Another day in June, we'll pick eleven for football. We're playing for our lives the referee gives us f*ck all. I saw you in the corner of my eye on the sidelines. Your dark mascara bids me to historical deeds." I don't get it. Anyway.....waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay of topic............Liam Polwarth.....great to see him in a Scotland shirt. His dad gave me what might still be my favourite moment watching football. Little known fact - Ian Polwarth was Alex Ferguson's first signing for Aberdeen.
  5. Dunfermline v Dundee draw @ 3.40
  6. I saw his @rse that day - and i've never recovered.
  7. Just as Andrew Driver did, he attends Hillhead High School - a non-denominational comprehensive. IMO people from the West End shouldn't be allowed to represent Scotland. English, Somali, whatever - they're all a bunch of cardigan wearing Belle and Sebastian clones who wouldn't know a football if it rustled their mop-top.
  8. We don't really know yet. He looked very dangerous on the break alongside Imrie at Tannadice last season. I think that's the only time i've seen him start.
  9. Jaggie1994, that's the second time this week that we have posted very similar posts in the same minute. Are we the same person?
  10. Terry's new system will provide Rooney with a platform to play in in a run of consecutive games in this division. The jury remains out on just how a good a striker he is, and it will interesting to see if he takes his chance. I was screaming for his inclusion at times last season, simply because he was the only striker in our squad who showed anything approaching composure in front of goal. Strangely enough, composure has been his biggest problem so far this season as he has missed a succession of one-on-ones. Interesting to note though, just how often he manages to get himself in that position in spite of how slow he is.
  11. Mine is the flag of 'Khalistan', the name of the proposed Sikh homeland which translates literally as 'land of the pure'. While in the Punjab, and hearing Sikhs talk about Khalistan, i could never help but think of it of it as 'the land of the Caley'. Hence my username and avatar. Perhaps a little random, but it's too late now. When i eventually grow up, i might change it to Stanley Caledonian.
  12. Mallard sounds good, invading sounds really good . There are trains at 1216 and 1332. I think it would be good to try and get as many folk as possible on one of these trains in order to maximise the effect of the invasion. The gypos won't know what's hit them when the the ICT train pulls into town.
  13. The game plan definitely involved letting Imrie, Foran and Sanchez off the leash to some extent. There was a lot of interchanging, with Foran and Imrie swapping wings a few times and Sanchez dropping off into space as he always does. Of course, this was only possible because Proctor, Duncan and the full-backs played disciplined roles behind them.
  14. Away, Away, Away, Away...............Caley, Caley.
  15. Now, having listened to the whole show, i have to say - what an articulate man and great representative for ICT. Make him Chief Executive.
  16. Great support today. I never thought i'd see the day when Russell Duncan got a song - it's only taken 9 years! Where were the sesh/loyal army today though? It seemed to be some middle-aged guy with a dodgy goatee who was starting all the songs. Performance? Great. All of my years shadowing IHE paid off today when Terry responded to my call and played the formation that i asked for. Seriously though, our attacking threat was very exciting. OK, we didn't exactly play them off the park and their defending was woeful, but we discovered something important today - Foran, Sanchez and Imrie with Duncan and Proctor playing behind them is flucking amazing midfield. We didn't have to dominate the game because our creative players were so effective every time they received the ball. Sanchez in particular, consistently played the right ball at the right time today. He created 3 goals in the half hour this way. I love him. Foran and Imrie were also great. They've got the work-rate and desire to go with the creativity and we really can't go wrong with these guys on each side of the pitch. Apologies to season ticket holders. It must be incredibly frustrating, but the fact is, we have been very good away from home this season. I think it'll come your way soon. Keep the faith. As Rosscoe said on Sportsound: "Don't write us off".
  17. And in the spirit of the sensationalism that killed a previous thread...... Ross Tokely on Sportsound, blaming the English for our poor start to the season!!!
  18. Wait for us.
  19. Jim Spence has a beautiful smile.
  20. Partick @ 2.62
  21. You called it before the event Yngwie. I was nieve enough to be seduced by Mark Thompson's defence of the decision to invite Griffin on grounds of political impartiality. In reality though, the vast majority of the show was used to hammer Griffin. He's clearly a horrible creep but i ended up feeling sorry for him at times. In the aftermath of an election that saw one million British people vote for a fascist political party, i think we should take a collective deep breath and discuss the issues that have caused them to do so. As Chris Huhne pointed out, it has far more to do with public disconnection with mainstream politics than it has to do with race or even immigration
  22. Im delighted to see Grant hit this milestone. He's come in for fair amount of criticism over the last couple of seasons but if you look back on his ICT career thus far it has been a huge success. He was a regular in the team by the time we started to challenge at the top end of the First Division and was a rock alongside Dods throughout our first three SPL seasons in what must've been the best defensive pairing we've ever had. After Dods' departure, he took on the captaincy and, through the most difficult period in our short history, put himself in the firing line, never shirked, always gave his all for ICT. Here's Terry Butcher's take on Grant Munro today:
  23. I find that a bit harsh davie. While i accept your point that successful football teams are run as businesses in the modern era, i'm simply expressing my dislike of that situation. I love football. I love both the game itself and its capacity to bring people and communities together. Consequently, i would prefer that football clubs were run openly and democratically from the bottom up rather than by secretive groups of businessman who are often reluctant to disclose exactly what their role at the club is, or what their interest is in being involved in it. That's just a personal preference, and i don't see how it can be equated with a betrayal of a "small town personality".
  24. I'd take that over the s**te Sutherlands been brewing up for the last year and a half. Pun intended. Two evils and i'm not sure which is the lesser. Personally, i'd rather we were a members club playing in the Third Division than an SPL team providing a platform for wealthy businessmen to promote themselves and increase their power base.
  25. I remember Savage saying that he wanted to "introduce boutique football to showcase other players". I assume that in his eyes, Niculae was just the first in a range of designer labels to be showcased at the Orion Dome. **** that.
