I agree davieB, I thought he did the thankless chasing lost causes job today. He does look good and likes a challenge, is strong in the air and not shot shy, but that was a drawback today, too eager to please and could have done better on a couple of chances but elected to shoot first time when a good first touch may have been better. He can't be far of the fitness mark and he even collected the ball from behind the goals a couple of times in his eagerness to get on with it. themann4thejob says :021:

We really should have taken something from this game. For all our huffing and puffing it was St Mirren who had two clear chances to kill the game. One header in the second half downward and bounced high and wide when a goal seemed easier and at the death when they rounded the keeper and stroked the ball wide, a bad miss for them. We on the other hand could not muster any real clean chances on target despite dominating most of the proceedings. Bayne hit a ferocious shot in the first half which would have screamed into the net had it been a yard either side, unfortunately it was straight at the keeper from the edge of the box. He headed one just over in the second half but his contribution otherwise was not enough. Hastings was not tight enough and poor in the air, Tokely was caught out for the first goal, a long crossfield ball floating over his head, he will be disappointed by that but he did well apart from that error. Grantie and Caff I thought looked better today, with Caff having the best game out of the back four. Russell Duncan continues to give the ball away, but counteracts that with some great play. I also thought Rankin had a better game than the Gers one, not too difficult though. Black was decent and kept his cool. Cowie was my MoM, grafting hard and making a great penalty box run to slide the ball home from Niculae's excellent cross, he new exactly where and when Cowie was. I will stick up for Marius here, I thought he did a great shift and a lot of shutting down defenders and running down the keeper stuff. If I have any complaint it seemed he is over eager to please and shot fist time on a couple of occasions when he could maybe have taken a touch or two, however he can put himself about and worked the Bayne shift pretty well, the goals will come. Bayne, yes unfortunately it was my comment, he looks a shadow of the player we saw before. Maybe the competition is getting to him. I thought this game was tailor made for Zander, soaking wet pitch, skin them on the wings, alas he never got on. Our Canadian International better buck up or we will be in trouble, he has gone from hero to zero in a few months and was guilty of causing our defence a few problems. Overall, we should not have lost this game with the amount of ball we had, we played pretty good for long spells, but the killer touch is still lacking. Both their goals were poor defensively, even the shot for the first looked saveable, the second happened at the opposite end but we looked far from convincing when the cross came in. We will play worse and win but we need to sort it out quickly because the games are not getting any easier over the next few weeks. This week has come and gone and we are still pointless, therefore next weeks home game is getting to the stage of a must win scenario for the two games after that are tough away days.

Johndo 4:23 "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him." You have opened up a whole new avenue there, this could be the next great offering since HMS Sneck.........where the heck is that boat anyway, I am missing it. < As the mist cleared over the parapets of the enemies encampment, and the guardians of the fortress Love Street peered yonder as far as the dark and syringe infested passage of the White Cart Waters, there, berthed under the shroud of darkness bobbed the leader of the armada, HMS Sneck her shipmates merry from.....................>

Wood scored twice and was fouled for a penalty as Montrose thrashed Stirling Albion 5-1 in the Challenge cup last night. from BBC sport site John Baird's hat-trick helped Montrose earn a place in the second round of the Challenge Cup with a sensational win over First Division Stirling Albion. Baird fired the Division Three outfit in front from the penalty spot after Garry Wood was fouled by Laurie Ellis. Baird added the second with a dipping drive from 30 yards and set up Wood to slot home from 10 yards. Ross Harris replied in off the post, but Wood bulleted home a header from a Baird cross before the roles reversed. Powerful boy Woods, good to see him keeping his hand in.

The grassy knoll.....was Clarkson tackled unfairly?
tm4tj replied to CELTIC1CALEY3's topic in Caley Thistle
Was it not similar to the one Dods gifted Well up in Inverness in the last minute, bringing down Macdonald needlessly from a similar position. Difficult for the ref to give anything else but both needlessly given away. Grantie should question himself and not the guy who fell over his outstretched leg. Steep learning curve for the cap'n. -
Aye, right eeuff. Staying in Glasgow Friday and possibly Saturday. :010: The Alamo bar is about the closest to the ground, it is the one on Caledonia road next to the Caledonia Bar which is shut unless anyone can confirm otherwise. mappy thing linky

One that will loom on the horizon for us in the future It is now mathematically impossible to avoid relegation :029:

I myself with zogg should be able to attend this game, going down on Friday and maybe staying till Sunday.

Remember the Alamo Yes I am sure the Caledonian was boarded up at the last game of last season.

Strewth The lads not even played this week and he is still getting stick. If you can't comment and be happy for him don't bother leaving a comment on this thread. Theres already a thread slagging Rory off elsewhere. This thread is entitled congratulations, it's not another method of getting cowardly digs in again. He has not had the best of times in recent games but give him a break, somebody has belief in him.

St Mirren held them to a 2-0 defeat :029: Or am I missing something here.

Aye, it works fine for me as Well. Must be user misuse, do you need help :023:

Thanks for answering for me IHE. Why should he be immune to crticism. If he is not up to it he should suffer the same fate as the rest, publicly pilloried and villified. Maybe CC was under pressure to deliver and his hand was forced into playing Marius. By all accounts he is not ready to play yet. He will hopefully prove to be a good aquisition, but he will only get pass marks if he delivers and a run of poor performances will only lead to unrest in the camp.

Did you get the impression that they have no confidence in Grantie or is the Niculae factor rearing it's head already.
