  1. On the assumption that this is correct, it is fair to say that with the catalogue of injuries we had and the chances he had to impress, it was our younger home grown players who were the better performers.
  2. And who came close to being beaten in the first cup game against much lower opposition but who eventually gained the right to play the virtually undefeated Premier League winners......who earlier in the season won 9-0 away from home. As they say in Liechtenstein 'tres tricky!'
  3. Just to put ticket sales into perspective, Celtic have in excess of 50,000 season ticket holders. The demand for tickets from their long range non season ticket holders will be enormous.
  4. Good news....Hampden Park confirm that the kick off time is still to be confirmed....https://www.hampdenpark.co.uk/whats-on/scottish-cup-final-2023.html
  5. Quite interesting to note that the highest score in 149 Cup Finals is 6 by Renton and Celtic. In the 150th final, Celtic are on course to set quite a few records after losing just 1 league game this season. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Scottish_Cup_finals
  6. We can but hope that behind the scenes discussions are taking place about the timing of the final, ticket price reductions and transport issues.
  7. Now do the same for Celtic to see if they are going to win 10-0.
  8. Yogi probably kicked a ball around in training for us............
  9. An absolutely nice guy who always seeks to give his best. The statistics do not show how many taxi rides he has given to Danny Devine.....https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/65427032 Let us not forget that Aaron created our opening goal in the winning cup final.
  10. For the final Peat and Diesel should be approached to do the pre-match music starting with .... Teuchters all let us rejoice For we are young and free We've golden soil and wealth for toil Our home is girt by sea Our land abounds in nature's gifts Of beauty, rich and rare In history's page let every stage Advance Teuchters fair In joyful strains then let us sing Advance Teuchters fair Should bring a smile to Celtic's Manager.
  11. It was magic seeing us reach a second Scottish Cup Final. Never ever thought it likely. Am really pleased Celtic beat Rangers today because I think Rangers would have hammered us on the 3rd June...... So this Friday is now the most important game of our season.
  12. The next two games will be tough!!!
  13. With the exception of Raith, every other team in the Championship now have must win games. Potentially some shock results may now happen. However, beating Dundee today will be a massive win for us if we can grind out that result. For Dundee they can basically clinch the Cinch next week if they beat Cove and draw with Queens on the final day.
  14. Great character always happy for a blether. Great groundsman. Great loss.
  15. Utterly amazing.
  16. Hamilton is a massive challenge after what has been achieved so far. They really are a tough nut and it is quite remarkable that Tuesday's game represents by far and away our biggest challenge this season. Meantime congratulations to the Club for the result today. We need everyone to play out of their skins on Tuesday.
  17. The hardest game of our season so far.
  18. Counts for very little if we struggle and lose against Arbroath, then Cove, and of course Hamilton. However, there are signs that we want to keep grinding out results to see if we can make more progresss. That said, we do generally struggle against teams from the bottom three places in the Championship. Here's hoping we can squeeze something out of Arbroath. Pointless worrying about other teams and their results.
  19. The TV pictures show a different picture to the one Irvine had in a split second. When he becomes a more mature official he will no doubt calmly speak to both his lino and fourth official to see if they agree with his initial thoughts. Mature referees normally take their time before calmly showing the red card. To me he over reacted and hopefully he will have the courage to realise that the tackle was not as his mind first thought.
  20. Almost certainly yes. Fair to say Inverness probably inspired the authorities to introduce it but will the Josh Meekings incident come back to bite us? Will certainly influence the behaviour of both sets of players with Donaldson prone to giving away penalties.
  21. .....or if Falkirk beat us and either Rangers or Celtic they would be the first third tier side from Scotland in Europe....
  22. The point on contracts is that a lot seem to expire on the 31st May, 2023. With the final on the 3rd June there could be an issue with some players. Both ICT and Falkirk might also have a play off second leg beyond the 31st. The SPFL play off dates are 1 June cinch Premiership play-off final, 1st leg 4 June cinch Premiership play-off final, 2nd leg.
  23. That is a very good point which also applies to Falkirk too.
  24. We have to treat Falkirk as if they are Celtic or Rangers. We have to learn from Ayr not competing in the second half. This will not be an easy match and given some of the results in the English FA Cup this year and the result by Darvel againgst Aberdeen there is no reason why Falkirk cannot create another big shock and reach the final. Minds must now focus on beating Queen's Park.
  25. The litmuss test now will be whether we can beat Queens Park next Saturday. We have successfully avoided playing Hamilton on the 29th April following last night's performance so also need to work out how to beat them when it is re-arranged.
