  1. Accies are required to respond to the SFA by tomorrow 'We note from the records at Companies House that Mr Strain is currently the only director of the club. We have informed the club to write to us within seven days to outline the steps it intends to take to ensure it complies with its legal obligations following the implementation of the determination referred to above.' Unless Strain is successful in an appeal against the SFA's judgment that he is not fit and proper to run the Club, tomorrow is key because someone has to certify that the Company is a going concern. A Go Fund Me appeal by supporters is currently at £20k against a target of £50k. Could be a dramatic day tomorrow for Accies and possibly for the League.
  2. BBC SportHamilton Accies: SFA 'fit and proper' ruling against Zeng...Troubled Hamilton Academical are left without a director, while a Scottish FA ruling also bans the League One club's owner from the day-to-day running of affairs.
  3. I think that is unfair on 9 teams in the League plus Ross County who want another shot at a playoff to enter the League.
  4. Cove having just four subs shows their resource issue. I cannot recall if it was them but the last time a team had so few substitutes I seem to recall we lost!! Pleased that Megginson is not in the team - he has all the attributes of Derek Adams. Good luck to the lads today.
  5. Decided not to appeal!!! Pity really because points deduction might have been increased. Daily RecordAccies boss glad club didn't appeal points deduction afte...Rankin' side were deducted six-points from their League One tally after the club was found to have breached the terms of its transfer embargo
  6. Accounts now published for the year ended 30 May 2025. https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/SC149117/filing-history
  7. I have refereed a few games in my life and run the line slightly more times. It is a difficult job. I am not a Rangers supporter but do agree with the sentiment behind this statement - 'Rangers statement in fullThe handling of key incidents during Sunday's semi-final has again raised legitimate concerns about the consistency of refereeing in Scottish football. Club representatives met with the Scottish FA this evening to seek explanations for major decisions in the match, including the incident involving Jack Butland and Auston Trusty. Following that meeting, we remain unsatisfied with the explanation of the referee's decision in that incident, the application of the Laws of the Game, and the VAR review itself, which we do not believe was sufficiently robust or thorough. We recognise that refereeing decisions can impact both sides in a game, but too many important matches continue to be influenced by calls that are inconsistent and difficult to justify. These decisions have real consequences, determining results, impacting fans, and affecting the livelihoods of players, coaches and staff whose work is judged by outcomes on the pitch. The club has consistently raised issues as they have occurred with the Scottish FA, but we do not feel there has been enough change in how refereeing is being developed at the highest level. We understand and share the anger among our supporters, who have grown frustrated at the repeated inconsistencies in major match decisions that continue to affect the club. For the benefit of our supporters and the wider game in the country, we will continue to hold the Scottish FA to account and expect them to lead meaningful progress that delivers lasting improvement. ' I am not sure VAR has raised refereeing standards but nor have I any suggestions on how to achieve positive results unless every handball or foul in the box that results in a penalty is an automatic yellow card. Goalkeepers are quite rightly perhaps over protected but Trusty's stupidity should have resulted in a red card should similar acts occur in the future.
  8. Watched Brackley Town overcome Notts County in the English FA Cup with Ricky Calder......
  9. Playing in a leased stadium with modest crowds is not sustainable given debts of perhaps £2m. Payments to HMRC etc has to come from another source. Who or what is that source? Who is feeding the Club? Reading between the lines, the SFA/SPFL seem to be gathering information by a gradual means. I suspect not everything has come to light just yet which means further penalties may follow although the SFA/SPFL may have got things wrong and Hamilton may have potentially been the unfortunate recipients of a miscarriage of justice. We await details from their appeal hearing.
  10. BBC SportHamilton Academical lose points and fined after transfer...Scottish League 1 leaders Hamilton Academical have been handed points deductions and a fine after paying trialists and fielding amateur players while under a transfer embargo.I raised the amateur question after we lost to them. Given their accountants position they now seem in quite a precarious position.
  11. From the Herald 'The SPFL have withheld a £70,000 payment to Hamilton Academical after expressing concern over the club’s ability to fulfil its fixtures until the end of the season. The League One club’s unaudited accounts were filed with Companies House on October 3. The year ending June 30 2024 showed a loss of £1.4million with the league board fearful that the club might struggle to see out the campaign. They’ve now withheld money the club regard as vital to their chances of completing their fixtures.' When you look at the Accounts on Companies House you can see that Seref Zengin, Director signed the Accounts off for the 30th September 2025 and then resigned on the 1st October, 2025. Hamilton are behind with their Confirmation statement. From a going concern point of view it looks like they may be dependent on their Directors to meet any creditor demands for payment.
  12. I could not make it because I was at Hampden watching our youngest winning cup final player make and then score our equaliser against Greece!!
  13. Thought he and the team deserved it again. However, John Rankin is hopefully next up and we regroup for the chance again in November. Certainly life is better this season but Saturday's result showed the danger of getting our preparations wrong.
  14. Did Hamilton play any registered amateurs? You have to credit Rankin for over coming some serious setbacks so far.
  15. https://spfl.co.uk/news/shaw-wins-l1-award Oli Shaw to be watched but not when he is unmarked like Nathan last Saturday!!!
  16. Wotherspoon's second goal was pure class. Our attendance was way greater than the other four games combined. Easton's injury did not look very good. We wish him well. The young referee was very good. The entertainment when he asked a substitute to return from the field of play to the dugout was made funnier by the announcer when he went back on again. Presumably 'Two Soups' messed up the paperwork. Hamilton looks like a really challenging game next weekend.
  17. Just viewed our second goal - Ferguson would have coached the players to feed it back to our keeper!! Truly wonderful result. East Fife next week have some very good strikers so this week a lot more work to hold our defensive record.
  18. Calum's shot was really top class and gave the 'keeper not Mutch chance of saving it! Three points and we move on.
  19. .......and finally....'Registered office address changed from C/O Bdo Llp, 2 Atlantic Square 31 York Street Glasgow G2 8NJ to Sarens Psg Stadium Stadium Road Inverness IV1 1FF on 9 September 2025'.....
  20. https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/SC149117/filing-history Dawn and Alan Savage now appointed as Directors.
  21. Good news from Companies House...https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/SC149117/filing-history On the 26th August 2025 the Club officially came out of Administration. Time to change a line in the Proclaimer's song to 'Administration no more..' and fairly soon close this thread,
  22. It is utterly stupid playing with fire. However, those amongst us who are 'old' know that we did some silly things when younger although not on the scale we have seen. In the absence of parents having instilled commonsense into their off bring it is then up to other supporters to point out offenders and hopefully stop this dangerous practice.
  23. .....could Russell Martin be tempted to ignite County?
  24. Roy must be seething....but could Gary Warren partner Robbo? Will Robbo suggest Neilson? Will Adams return having previously indicated that his team were very substandard. Roy likes honesty.
  25. I think a few have had overnight stays.
