  1. 6' 2'' lad from Elgin. http://www.northern-scot.co.uk/news/fullst...SPL_chance.html - the new Alan Main.
  2. Multi-cultural = fifer, wicker, aberdonian, dundonian, drumnadrochian, cockney(nearly),bucharestian(possibly),Prince Georgian,Invernesian,fit likerian, etc.
  3. ...it was pleasing to see Richie Hart training hard yesterday during shots of Deano. This could be the best season of his career.
  4. Inverness had to fight for their rightful place in the SPL. Court attendance was the order of the day. Subsequently Livingston were generally deemed to be in the wrong but survived without points being docked. Sheffield heard the result of a tribunal yesterday which basically said we can only check that the procedures were correctly followed but there is no doubt in our minds that you were well and truly shafted because of the way West Ham conducted their business. They should have had points deducted but there is nothing we can do within our terms of reference. Sheffield started their pre-season back in the Premier League in the Highlands...... Justice may still occur if United find a quick and successful judicial review route. Livingston were of course relegated once they ceased using expensive business consultants as unpaid players.
  5. In the real world football is a whole lot harder. Playing on grass against real teams fighting for annual survival never gets easier. Look back at the history of ICT and it was complacency that downed us. Recall the 5-1 home defeat to Ross County. Charlie has acknowledged we have a very painful start to the season and if we want to get points on the board and avoid an early day St Mirren again everyone grafts.
  6. Given last season's pre-season game it is truly remarkable that they took from the Highlands a touch of the Court of Session so ably mastered by ourselves. For West Ham the saga has a touch of the Livingston great escape about it and we can but hope justice is still done before the new season starts.
  7. I suspect they will all be snapped by Hibs in the next 24 hours in a desperate attempt to solve their longstanding problems.
  8. http://www.mariusniculae.ro/ Quite an achievement to get him to fly to Inverness. Looks slightly better than Brewster and an even bigger signing than Paul Ritchie from Hong Kong on a free!!!
  9. '30.10.03 A record Nine Stockport County players were called up for International duty today, highlighting the talent now on show at Edgeley Park. Jim Goodwin, Wayne Henderson and Jon Daly all received call-ups to the Ireland Under 21 squad, while defensive duo Joleon Lescott and Rob Clare both join the England Under 21 squad to face the Irish. Andy Welsh and Mika Aaritalo both received Under 21 call-ups to Scotland and Finland respectively whislt Chris walker and Dominque Taboga receive their first Under 21 caps. Debutants Walker and Taboga have both been impressive in thier reserve team displays, with Taboga pushing hard for a first team place. Taboga's call-up could be due to his new found flexibility, which has seen him operate in the centre of defence as well as in his more accustomed right wing back role. Walker has also settled in well after his early season move from Portadown, with some strong displays for the Matt Le Tissier's Under 19's. We wish them well.' ArabForNever will recognise a familiar name of a player currently injured. And some more familiar names: # 5.9.03 Owen Hargreaves- Season long loan from Bayern Munich. England international Hargreaves is frozen out at Bayern adn available on a loan so we jump at this opportunity. His versatility accross midfield and tenacity will be welcomed. # 25.8.03 Adam Collin- Season Long loan from Newcastle. Brought in after Tardif injures himself. He returns when Henderson joins. # 26.7.03 Mika Aaritalo- Free Transfer. Aaritalo was rated as one of the great striking prospects when he joined Villa so we jumped at the prospect of signing him for free when he was released from his contract by Aston Villa. There is a great sense of excitement around the club about the future possibilities for Mika. # 12.7.03 Kevin Kyle- Free transfer. Released by Sunderland after they were relegatedd, Scottish international Kyle is a target man with a great header. Will hopefully provide options in attack as well as adding depth to the squad. # 1.7.03 Dominique Taboga- Free Transfer. Arrives from Austrian side DSV Lebeon after he was spotted in a scouting mission. Will start in the reserves where he'll be given time to adapt but hopefully will be challenging for a first team spot in the near future. Kapfenberger SV made a very poor start last season but then finished 8th!!!
  10. Toboga with the right haircut will look like Bobby Mann so he's a cracking signing. The other lad will be the new Basry Wilson. Brilliant recruits - just hope they settle.
  11. He looks potentially very good. Dargo is history.
  12. If you contrast his exit with other players such as Denzil,Barry, and Dodsy, they all went onto better contracts. However, they conducted their exits with dignity. In Barry, Denzil and Richard they conducted their re-entry with dignity too! Craig has openly made it clear it was for money. He is better off our books if he lacked ambition which a move to St Mirren is and now we know why Charlie had to sub him so often.
  13. Yes they heard what Alan Savage was planning and said they would only be interested if he did in fact re-create the Sound of Music.
  14. Charlie and Parky are the only management duo in the country who can see eye to eye with him so he will be a great success.
  15. The Gillingham web site have him taller. Name: Dean McDonald Nationality: English Date of Birth: 19/02/1986 Height: 5' 7" (170cm) Weight: 11st 0lbs (69.92kg) Great goal scorer - motivation is apparently the problem.
  16. Adds a new meaning when the boss says to Bobby Mann get tight up to the centre forward.
  17. Will Elton John be asked to open it?
  18. ArabforEver what the **** does it matter?
  19. It is unlikely he would return as diet and fitness coach. The heading should read Robbo's a Pork Pie!
  20. He's not Scheidt though. 'rafael scheidt So farewell then Rafael You cost several million They must be laughing their bums off On the Copacabana at that one If you have tears prepare to shed them as we take a painful journey through the Celtic career of Rafael Scheidt. December 15 1999 was the fateful day when the boy from Brazil finally put pen to paper, and caused a million guffaws at the pronunciation of his surname. His signing had been touted for many a month. Celtic contract guru Jim Hone had travelled to South America to clinch the deal that would see the Brazilian national team centre half sign up in Glasgow. Basically things went badly wrong from minute one. He wasn't fit, on the eve of his debut he was taken to hospital with appendicitis, he collided with a team mate in training, injuring himself quite seriously in the process and by the time he was due to actually make an appearance the manager who had signed him was back in punditry purgatory. In his first six months in Scotland he had played less than 90 minutes of first team football. Oh and there was small matter of a major scandal brewing in Brazil; apparently the national manager had been taking bungs from Brazilian league clubs to pick duds to play in meaningless friendly games, allegedly to seduce gullible European clubs into shelling out for a "Brazilian international". Sound familiar? ' see http://www.ntvcelticfanzine.com/
  21. If it is Porter bit of luck we have air links to Manchester, Birmingham and the East Midlands. Dundee fly to London City but very little else.
  22. As a final word I have to say Darren Dods has conducted himself honourably in his transition to Dundee United. Craig chose his own exit plan which compared to Dodsy or Henry demonstrates we have probably not lost much. Gary McSwegan showed significant dignity in handling a difficult situation well.
  23. Ambition knows no bounds with Craig. He looks light weight compared with Skippy.
  24. Dargo only played two thirds of last season. Brown played a half. There will be some good players around without contracts for a while yet.
  25. Have faith in the management team. Presumably Partick have some spare cash. Buchanan has never played Div 1 let alone SPL.
