  1. Born in a side street at the foot of Easter Road, slightly diluted Leith Irish...... what else could I have been or wanted to be! Raised in Inverness in the red n' black. Out of curiousity every Invernessian I know was either a Caley/whatsit, Jaggy/whatever or a clacher/? I doubt if you only got into football league 12 years ago........ so who did you drop to follow your local club?
  2. I'd say the tone of your whole post! :001: As for the academy lookin' like a barn? I'll just have to accept your comment! You have a bit of a downer on barns? Been knocked back in a couple I expect. As for it being green, what do you expect it to be? maroon! Thought the name Hibernian would be a clue. :023: [img width=500 height=373] Jesus we've even painted the grass. :rolleyes02:
  3. For a closet yam your not too subtle. Posting a photo of a unfinished building and slating it is not too clever. It was nice to see the smaller Herriot Watt facility and the marvellous Murray Park. Its the way ahead for the modern game. I'd love to see one set up here. I watched Rangers having training sessions with 50 to 100 local kids in their Rangers tops at Grant street, last year and the year before that. I must say I wondered why this wasn't a ICT initiative? How it will look when completed.
  4. Nice to see some commonsense being applied. :clapping03:
  5. Scott Brown, Gary O'Connor, Kevin Thompson, Steven Whittaker and so on........ but as Alex MacLoed says the club will benefit in the long run! What we have to figure away around is how to stop the O/F benefitting from it? :001:
  6. Craig Gordon was a great yam. Many thanks to Vlad for chasing him out the door. :rotflmao:
  7. Don't need them! :blob01: :blob02: :blob01:
  8. I think the annoying thing is that there's more where they came from, well annoying if you ain't a Hibee that is! As a team we will only really miss Scott Brown! ain't got a replacement for Scotty. But for Whittaker, Sproule and Killen we've got more than adequate replacements. :001:
  9. I was sadden to hear of Willie's passing, on a couple of occasions I was on the teams bus for away games, as a young boy, and Willie always was kind and friendly to me, which helped me get over my shyness and awe of the company I was in. :clapping03:
  10. Isn't it strange that when I got to that very part, I got something in my eye and the air-conditioning was playing havoc with my sinuses. :009:
  11. Signed the petition as I believe that the reason to deny to be unjust. There's a lot of imported duffers in Scotland who have permits but will never play for their first team. Not pointing fingers but they can be located in a pink bus shelter! Niculae has the class to contribute to the improvement of his chosen club, basically the sort of import we want to see in the SPL. If his chosen destination was on the banks of the Clyde then he'd be playing tomorrow! :001:
  12. Great band, missed them when they were last up and the time they did the Raigmore. I'm on holiday then so it looks like I'm gonna miss out again. Anyone who doesn't know them try a taste
  13. Got my copy of the book. It's strange reading for me, as I know most of the people in the book, intimately! It's like reading someone close diary, curious with a bit of guilt. My wee bit is located on page 142........ immortalised in literature, must admit I got a wee kick out of seeing my deed/name in print. I'm half way through the book, it's very touching and I like the way she has added what the professionals thought of her by using their own words from their reports. It's a touching story and I'm very proud and a tad envious of her literary skills, always fancied writing a book but I lack the needed literary skills. If your unlucky to have a kid with learning difficulties I hope you find this book a bit of comfort or inspiration. If your just looking for a summer read then you could do a lot worse than this emotional tale.
  14. Oh we have a whole new batch and a goalie ........ erm ...... this one disnae give away freebies! :001:
  15. Yeah he did that at Easter Road a few years back! good ol' Elton giving the fans what they want, the guy is a great showman. :001:
  16. Is this the same Tom Anderson who taught music at Millburn?
  17. Like most Hibees I don't think we saw the best of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GySIAOO8PZE. I hope Gary Johnston can get Ivan to release the ball earlier. His speed is a major part of his game but his biggest failing is holding onto the ball to long. What City are getting is a totally exciting player when he's on his game, Ivan........ he's getting an extra £150k a year and a chance to put himself in a more prominate shop window for a step into the premiership and as for us hibees we're getting humped by the board as they strip us of all our assets. :blob01:
  18. Charlie Duncan and Ian Cummings were two of my favourites. But it was Huistain(if that's the correct spelling?) Lazenby that I admired most. Great passer, tackler, header and reader of the game. I know he went on to play his football in Australia, Brisbane thistle I think? David Milroy was a great example for young players to model themselves on and a very good player, servant to the Jags. My favourite Caley man was Bobby Noble, as I have a strange affinity towards the thugs of football. :001:
  19. I hope that after reading it that you would post your thoughts on the book. Nuala was up here at the weekend and I know that she'd love to hear your thoughts. I can't wait to read it myself ........ never been in a book before hope I don't come over as a t*sser! :024:
  20. 'A friend like Henry' is the soon to be released book of the drama 'After Thomas' that was showing on ITV last Boxing day. Its a more in depth look at the story of the autistic boy and his dog, that the critics claimed to be the best programme on TV that day. It covers a lot of areas that the drama couldn't. It is sad as well as being uplifting and will detail the trials and tribulations of the journey that this family had to take to get a diagnosis and help for their son. Help that came from an unexpected source. The book is written by the boy's mother and my sister-in-law Nuala Gardner. Who has tried to not only make it a good read but it is her hope that families, who may be facing a similar journey, can refer to this book as a guide or an inspiration. It will be availiable in most good book stores from the 26th of July and a percentage of the profits will go to the Autistic society. :read02: :thumb04: :read02:
  21. Gary gave his sign on fee, from the transfer, to the youth development. Which was a great gesture and typical of him. Much as I like Scott I doubt if he'll part with his sign on fee. Your correct that only GOC went through the system. Good bit of business by Petrie, makes up for Riordan, Caldwell and Murray fiasco's. :001:
  22. I wasn't born in Inverness, though I grew up in Inverness and always called it home. Do I call myself an invernessian? no! To me you have to be born in the place to lay claim to that tag. And I can't really believe that I have agreed with IHE .......... think I need to lie down :confused06:
  23. There are days when is great to be a Hibby! :001: :001: :001: :001: :001:
