  1. It is up the Crown you turn up Victoria Drive off Millburn Road then right before Crown Drive, it is a circular road and there is the Inverness Highland bowling green there as well.
  2. Is that a Dingwall dog? He does not look very happy with the top on.
  3. County must have been counting the eyes again To be fair to them, they did take over 16,000 to their cup final. Did Uncle Roy not buy thousands of tickets and give them to all Global staff?
  4. Known locally as Rod the Rustler but that's not a story for IBM Transport! He built the flats on the site of the old Shell filling station on Millburn Road, the 2 blocks at the south end of Shore Street and latterly the flats at the old Tarka Controls.
  5. Roddy Macdonald built flats on it about the same time he built more across the road on the site of the old County Garage on Montague Row. The cars are Morris Minor, Humber Super Snipe pulling out, Ausitn A40 van top, Morris Minor van at pumps, Ford Popular at pumps, 2 other I cant see properly and along the front Riley RMA, Morris Minor and Austin A30. The date on the photo should be 1950's as the earliest vehicle was late forties! I'm interested in that rather more scientific appraisal of the likely date than, because I'm no expert on cars, the vague thought that went through my mind that the general ambience of the photo seems later than the 30s. On the other hand, now that IBM has flagged up the cars, I can see that icon of the 50s the Morris Minor right in front of my nose which should have given me a pretty good clue, had I looked more closely. Where else did Roddy Macdonald build flats in the town?

  7. Yes Scarlet next to your Auntie's old house! The railings were put round it when the old junction at Culcabock was converted to a mini roundabout about 25 years ago.
  8. Glad I am not old enough to have had that experience! It was bad enough with no electricity and having to use a torch when you had to go in the night.
  9. I don't remember it as a cinema but have been in it as a pub in High Sreet Dingwall. Looks an old picture but the car is a late 60's early 70's Vauxhall Victor FD.
  10. On the Southern Distributor Road at Inshes.
  11. IBM

    THE DANCING

One time the office and shop of North of Scotland Hydro Electric Board.
  12. I would say yes as ilpadrino it was registered on 10 March 1970 and the Rover P5B 3.5 litre was produced until 1973. A nice looking car with lots of chrome to polish, along with many cars of that time they were very prone to rust so there will not be many left now.
  13. I now keep my parking tickets in Morrisons for weeks. So many friends have had tickets in error there. Aye and some people thought the wee mannie that was there before was bad
  14. There have been problems at Morrisons, TK Max and Halfords with similar fines!
  15. I seen it over 20 years ago and it was all overgrown, must have been tidied up in recent years.
  16. Might be his grandfather I am sure Charlie is to young to have worked there! You are right Scarlet there is a resemblance.
  17. The Carlton in Inglis Street was more my mother's hang-out, but I have similar memories - in an era of waitresses in black and white uniforms and lace headgear. It was really boring, wasn't it? Almost as boring as when she had to take me to visit her friend Mrs Reid in Charles Street and I just sat there without a clue as to what they were talking about because I wasn't too sure what Sputnik, Suez, Eden and Eisenhower were all about. And you still don't
  18. Outfitters and Drapers Ah that's where you must have got your first suit
  19. Its over to Scarlet to identify the red car then!
  20. Hopefully not soon.............well done Ryan
  21. Now you are taking the mick I don't think that is even in Scotland!
  22. Another great win today against a team we used to get very little from, just shows how far the club has come on, well done to all again, a nice send off to Graeme Shinnie from the fans today :clapping:
