  5. Was there a younger brother called Mike? I remember a Mike Sabin who attended the Royal Academy in the mid 70s and was quite a good rugby player and javelin thrower. Indeed I also vaguely recollect that he may have earlier been a pupil at Fort Augustus Abbey School. (I wonder why his parents withdrew him?) There was 2 younger brothers but I cant remember their names, I think they sold the hotel in the 70's but not sure where they went. I don't think they would have attended the Abby School though.
  6. Not a delivery on route more than likely when the lorry was new a photo for advertising the Albion with the castle in the background.
  7. A Bristol Lodekka LD6G from 1957 the year I was born, the driver must have taken a wrong turning from Edinburgh a run that would have taken most of the day or it was on loan to Highland as they were all part of the Scottish Bus Group. Notice the girls with the platform soles the photo would be early 70's, they are reading books nowadays they would be texting!
  8. The Lovat Arms Hotel in Fort Augustus, the owners in the 60's were the Sabin's who lived in the hotel on the second floor on the left side, I was in primary school with the eldest son Neil and used to play putting on the green after school if there was nobody else on it.
  9. Learning all the time, I didn't know there was Greigs buses in Inverness in days gone by. The Greigs I remember from the late 60's & early 70's just had a few coaches.
  10. old caley girl has just bid so I hope you can
  11. I seem to remember back in the days of the 3rd division ( a long time ago) that we used these vouchers for early round of the Scottish Cup and didn't pay or was it just a dream?
  12. The old Haugh Bar my regular haunt in the mid 70's, that might be a Greigs coach parked beyond it.
  13. McDermott's where some people made a lot of money and spent it very quickly! I never fancied working there when it opened up don't know why but when I went onsite later working for BT I was hated it with a wind sand was blowing everywhere and it was worse in the rain! Here is another!
  14. I don't remember the the school of motoring from the early 70's with the Austin 1100, Volvo 245 estate, Peaugot 204, Hilman Imp, Mini, Vauxhall Viva HA (I think), Ford Escort & Ford Zepher.
  15. Better photo altogether IHE without the concrete boxes.
  16. Yes a bit of a craze that didn't last!
  17. Macbraynes and Highland, Greigs used to be grey and orange and operated from Telford Street opposite the old Caley park, I bet IHE has not got a photo of them!
  18. lightwelter, your last sentence sums it up perfectly
  19. The Post Office Telephones Technical Engineering Centre.
