  1. By the way, I also think that Richie Foran is our more important Irishman at the moment. Mainly down to his determination, experience, airiel strenght, Vision, aggression, cunning and ability is all their. Rooney and Hayes are both young and learning, which is where the promise lies at the moment.
  2. Thought their might be a few maybes but for folk who think they are supporters to say they might be out of their depth is a bit much. Johnny Hayes will cause many a defence problems, but he is a winger, and they will have hot days and cold days probably more than any other position. But I do think Johnny is also a confidence player who will go on hot streakes. Has the ability to rung rings round defenders and is positive in his movement all the time. Who else have the Irish got as wingers who stand out at the moment. Adam Rooney has already proved he can handle the SPL. Was he not top scorer with 6 two seasons ago when he wasnt getting into the team. Gtets a proper run in the team and ends up with upper twenties. Fully expect Adam to get double figures again this season, and hope that avoiding injury can edge towards the twenty mark. Can see him average a goal for avery second game. And with that rate of scoring for a decend non old firm player, I think they would have a look, as international football is about players with different styles and strengths. Rooney has a very direct style that defenders do not often feel comfortable with, add a bit of pace and roberts yer mums bro.
  3. I know we have had a few ex internationals, and several who have gone on to win scottish caps, but how far away do you think Mssrs Rooney and Hayes are from being called up. If they have similar seasons to last year, do you think Trapatoni will be at the TCS by Christmas for a look. Would be brilliant if either or both were given a shout whilst wearing our colours.

    Quick question

I have just been trying to work out something for a couple of weeks. If that Rooney guy that was out in South Africa is worth millions, How much would our Rooney cost someone to buy, and how much better would he have looked out in the rainbow nation.
  5. strange, so many people have been told they can't fly the flag as it upsets different nationalities in England yet downing st can fly it. Don't get me wrong we should be able to fly our flag with pride (today's result aside) but surely this will upset the b123ards even more. :( Now that England shire are on their way home, how soon will they lower the flag. Its just a reminder of how hurt they will be, and how bad they were. Want to know if they will now raise the Saltire to support Andy Murray at Wimbledon, or shall they return to the Union Jack to support our fiercly Scottish talent. Or is Wimbledon and a Scot not important enough to give the respect to from the Government. Anyway England were terrible, in fact they were worse than terrible in all 4 games. Trouble is they breezed through their qualifying group and Capello was a God. I was seriously worried they might go quite far this time. He stuck to the system that breezed the qualifying group and got slatted for doing it, but its not the manager to blame, as players did not perform, thet mostly seemed uninterested which is a disgrace. Rooney was their Maradona and Messi in one, and the guy just looked like one of us out their. The only ones who seemed to care was James and Gerrard, with flashes from a few others but that was it. Should have been a goal, but think Germany would have still coasted it, but that we will never know. 44 years the Germans have waited for the decision to be rectified. As said before the World Cup begins now, now that we know England cannot win it. I can now enjoy the rest of the games
  6. Difficult one to match our league record of undeafeted games, but no better game to achieve it too!
  7. Its the ability of all nine players that counts, and these guys have bundles of it. Very productive age group for the youths, and every one of them has a more than decent chance. Think you will find each of them will make a living out of football hopefully. The two international werent even players of the year at the youth awards a few weeks ago!!! More to come next year also
  8. They will most likely start the week before going back to training - 5th July. As it will most likely be a succession of trialists freed by bigger clubs looking for a deal to get them selves back on track. Cant see us paying for anyone so all our signings will be out of contract, and there are loads of them about. Wont be too many rumours whist media is hyper on the world cup, or at least whist englandshire can still win it
  9. What is the problem with some people. Chic is at the world cup, SO WHAT. Just because we did not qualify are we to ignore the greatest show on earth because we didnae get their. Something that always happens at the World cup, the team that eventually wins the competition sets a trend that a number of teams will follow for some time, tactics i mean. If the winners play with one up front, with two attacking wingers and two holding midfielders watch a lot of teams try to reprocate the winning formula. So why not have a reporter or reporters jealously looking at why we arent their. Im sure he will be tellinh Lennon how it was done when he returns. Ive seen photos of Chic in Aberdeen scarfs, Celtic tops, Hearts clobber and Rangers stuff, so does that make him just a glory hunter!!
  10. Think the league will be the most open one for years next year. Rangers may be champions but without the goal machine they will likely struggle in some games. Celtic have just lost half a team in their loanees all going back, and Lennon will be shopping at bargain basement clubs compaired to last year. Utd and possibly mutherwell should be a bit stronger, Hughes is messing up hibs same as falkirk- nice to watch but toothless in attack generally. Hearts will be further up the points talley, and well the others will be ICT, Accies and St Js well ahead of the strugglers - Aberdeen, St Mirren and Killie, and I can see the other Lennon improving the Paisley outfit. most other clubs hate Lennon for being a Catholic Ulsterman which shows exactly what is wrong in the scottish game. Personally I hate him because he was a dirty cheat, who specifically cheated against US to get Juanjo sent off.
  11. Reasonably good news for us too, as he had done pretty well on budgets in the past. 9points from 3 games for us, stepping stone to top 6.
  12. Excellent news, both know exactly what is required and are wise enough to screw the head when disipline is needed in the team.
  13. exactly, only half filled with gravy
  14. When the new season kicks off, who thinks Rossco will still be a centre half, or will he be a maurading full back once again. Showed some promise as a centre, do you think Tel might be trying to extend his career by doing this - saving his legs so he gets a twenty year testimonial. In fact do you get anything for being 20 years a player at one club.
  15. Nah, North Kessock is a total non starter. No room for 2 teams in Ross shire. Might be the best way to get a Ross shire team in the SPL though. As far as I can remember over the bridge is Ross shire
  16. At least you got a cold bit of meat. I got an empty shell one week, showed them and they gave another free!!!
  17. From what I gather Scott is the U-19 coach and Doc is the first team coach. Sharing the duties. Think Doc will be overseeing Scotty, and providing a wise ear to offer advice
  18. HaHA the truth will come out, and I do predict one or more of us will be right
  19. Had a dream the other night in which I met the Bran Seer, and he did predict that ICT would play European football in a new build 15,000 seater stadium at Inshes. When I woke up it was amazing that i could remember so much of the dream and the Seer's predictions coz i could even remember going to bed! 10 years time we will be at Inshes super stad de Caley.
  20. Scott Kerracher and John Docherty to take the under 19s I would think
  21. So Dundee kept trying to tell us they didnt spend much money on players, and as many of us here said, myself included, pointed out it wasnt the cost of signing the players it was the cost of the overpaid primadonna bighead so called star players. Their wages bill last season must have been grossly stupid, and partly funded by a man, Mr Melville, who himself said second was not good enough as second is for losers! what you doing with your millions now Callum Melville. As soon as your team dont gey what you want, suddenly you have Stuart Milne pockets - very deep with padlocks on them. Dundee - when will they learn, as this will be the third time in recent history they will be in the brown sticky stuff from trying to buy success. Pity really as if they had the right people running them they should be a force in Scottish football, but cant see them in the SPL for a while now. Hope Queens win title next season!
  22. Was the music from Damien the Omen for a good while. Hated it as just didnt seem right. Think they started to lean towards the Shamrock in the end and the Thin Lizzy entry went down very well. Good old tune and better than Rod Stewart for an ongoing basis
  23. Heard today that Middlesborough are planning a few games north of the border, Arabs, Dons and ICT. Came from a Newcastle fan so no idea if there is any weight in it! Robson, Scott McDonald, Strachan - and more Scots before the new season
  24. What do you think of ICT going for some of the decent players being released from clubs down in Engerlandshire. Although they may be deemed not good enough for some teams, touching 30 or just over, would it be worth a punt on a couple of those experienced guys like Cadermarteri at Dundee Utd, Jody Morris at St J. These players have probably played at a higher standard than the SPL, but will find it very hard to get another club the way things are going down south. Sometimes one or two of these guys can change the dynamics of the team, and add strength to he backbone of the side and depth. Any sensible, within budget suggestions?
  25. Was quite a damp squid today, after all the hype, and all the banter. Glory hunters got what they deserved, poor game really, County just did nt play, didnt turn up, atmosphere on the tv was very very poor for a cup final. Started watching it hoping they were going to get humped heavily, as it progressed and after a bore first half united kind of took the game with more urgency. When they went 2-0 up, found myself smug but all of a sudden felt a wave of pity and hoped they might at least get a decent shot at goal. So be it they didnt, and they were terrible. But where wwere those players who DID play so well against Celtic. Think the occassion must have got to them, only pluses today would be Brittain and a few of the defenders. Would we sign any of them on todays showing though, a couple of them might make the squad now, but i do still like the look of Richard Brittain.
