We have more or less a totally new forward line, that will take a wee while to gell i'm sure. However.... I cant understand how the management have not acted on the defence (as yet) when its a plain as day that last season was a shocker from a defensive point of view. Rossco seems to have gone backwards in the skill dept, with much fist/arm waving as more passes go astray, Hastings is just about passable as left back but is a disaster in the middle, Mcguire....well not much to say really, except *@!!@*@ useless. Granty will be solid and will lead the line well. Brew has to sort this out either by giving the players some wakey wakey juice, or getting new ones.

We are unfortunatley, being made to look like amateurs once again, i also agree that this issue aint over yet. Wouldnt have Munro & Hastings in the middle, both left footers and left sided players see! not only that Hastings is gash in the middle (despite what he does for Canada) which leaves ( unfortunatley) Mcguire or Proctor, neither of whom fill me with any kind of confidence. I am still praying that the management wake up from their slumbers and realise that we NEED a decent, experienced central defender. Would also not have Rory on from the start, but thats just me...

But this would have led to a very sticky situation would it not? we refuse to sell MN to bucharest because it a lower fee, we accept the Jerries fee because its the largest, MN says he will not go to Germany, comes back here in the huff! We had to accept that Marius wanted to go home, we then pull out the lower fee clause, which i'm sure is the board looking after ICT's interests, stuff Marius, he's not coming back, we need the dosh to buy a defender....

That kind of deal would almost certainly have been written into a contract and not any kind of verbal agreement. Either way we look at it Marius is away, and its just about how much we get, but the big big question is will Brew get us a decent defender.

Maybe Brewster being a forward player himself cant see things from a defensive perspective! but even my privet hedge noticed the poor defence last season, surely a wee light has gone off in his head to highlight this? Unfortunatley Brew has a penchant for putting players into unacustomed roles, and i can see this being continued this season in defence. :009:
