Cup Final ticket sales
I would suggest that there is little point in getting involved in the distraction of some kind of pre-final "bidding war" over ticket sales when it would be better to leave the competitive side of things until 3pm on the 30th.

ICT in Europe
Indeed! I'm far from sure how many Inverness fans would know how to get to Lyon or to Sociedad

Nick Ross in every shop in Dingwall?

Caley Thistle Score New Victorian Market Shop
Great idea you could maybe have David Ravens pic in a pet shop, Ross Draper in a curtain fabric shop and Richie and Aarons pic in the police station  Josh's hand in the Celtic shop Warren also in the pet shop (rabbit department) and Kink in HMV.

Caley Thistle Score New Victorian Market Shop
What a good idea this is, and also what a good idea it would indeed be for the staff at this new outlet to hold a pile of tickets on the premises for quick and easy sale to the public at a centrally located venue.

Cup Final ticket sales
Presumably when you get there you can be identified by your blue and white Santa suit.

Cup Final ticket sales
Presumably as near as possible to the exit so the stewards don't have too far to take you to throw you out.

Montrose
Dougal.... I'm not sure what you're fishing for here. It surely can't be to get someone to say the bleeding obvious which is that had this door opened 20 odd years ago and one of the single sides had gone in, the nearest an Inverness team would have got to Hampden would have been Queens Park away?

Montrose
The facility now for relegation from League Two is something for which Scottish football has waited far too long. If you are not good enough in whatever way, then you need to go. Remember also that it was the former closed shop status of the bottom division that kept Highland sides out of Scottish League football for decades. The one irony is that now the closed shop has been abolished, the procedure for replacing the relegated team involves a degree of compulsion on clubs which may not want the onus and expense of nationwide travel. A case of the stable door being closed long after the horse has bolted and demand for Scottish League football up here has largely been satisfied. I have a lot of sympathy for Brora in this respect in that the people who run the club understandably don't seem to want League Two football. However they are now in the play offs so must either make the upward jump or face Trial By Tam Cowan and (as they were on Saturday's Off The Ball) be accused of throwing the games if they don't beat Edinburgh City. No one should be exempt from the consequences of failure. Laurence's proposition regarding Montrose is really no different from those who said that Rangers and Hearts should have been allowed to continue in the SPL irrespective of their financial mismanagement.

Compliance Officer / Justice for Meekings
I was not referring to the merger. I was referring to a completely separate series of events after that was all settled which related to the funding of the stadium.

Compliance Officer / Justice for Meekings
So to a large extent it's all down to semantics - the meanings of the words "incident" and "offence". This all reminds me of a much earlier instance in ICT's history when the club was almost strangled at birth when Council officials tried to have a £900,000 grant cancelled on the strength of the word "payable".

We have a boozer for Sunday
Maybe we'll have a special cup final one. Heard that we are changing our badge for the final to a hand with middle finger extended, with "F**k You Celtic" written below. Make sure it's written below. If the lettering is inside the badge the Lord Lyon King of Arms would not even need a letter of complaint before issuing the emblem in question a retrospective ban.

COG - were you thinking about something like Victoria Park, Dingwall at 1215 on a Sunday?

Semi final
If anyone was feeling particularly flush they could have solved their semi final travel problems in a rather unique way. Driving now around Inverness is an "all the 2s" taxi in full Caley Thistle livery with club badges and large images of three players, all on a white background. It is really eyecatching and extremely impressive. I am told that this is a deal done by the club's commercial department and I have to say that I think this is an excellent means not only of advertising ICT but also of generally projecting its image. This would have been a grand, albeit rather expensive way of getting to the semi, but at least that's Paul Sheerin sorted for getting back to his hotel when he next visits Inverness. I was sitting in my car on Stratherrick Road when the guy went past me and I must have given him a very obvious double take because he stopped and wound down his window. "Very nice!" I told him. He offered me a swap and I was quite tempted

John Barnes, my part in his downfall
Agreed absolutely but, in line with what I was saying in another thread about the New Religion which is Political Correctness, it's sometimes a bit difficult to say thngs like that without being issued with a Fatwah by the PC handwringers.

Request for Help to save Football Badges
Or, this being 2015, whatever you think of the system, perhaps she is there on merit. Who knows, we might even have a woman as First Minister one day... I'm not sure if you quite twigged where I was coming from and if so, it's always a bit of a bummer to have to explain irony. The point was that this Lyon nonsense is so utterly medieval that in the minds of the fossils involved, having the token woman there probably seems utterly revolutionary. That she is there on merit doesn't therefore come into it and in any case I'm not sure what merit is actually required to play a game of Lancelot and Galahad with football club badges.
