  1. Alex.................love your optimism. I, however, am starting to despair about our continued impotence up front. what you say may well be true re all our opponents.................but we have to start playing productive football consistently and, moreover..........Brew has to start reacting to situations when things are not going our way (Sat a good case in point........200+ managers in the stands knew what was required!!!) Top 6 would be a FANTASTIC achievement
  2. I am smuggling a comment out from work so no report from me either I am afraid. Imrie reminds me a bit of Keogh. I suspect he has a good engine, is industrious and may have some pace ( that is a guess). Caused a fair bit of irritation when he came on playing wide left. No final product again today and i was disappointed....................we should have had that game by the scruff of the neck after an hour. As El Mantis says.........Saints were bound to score eventually as we stood off them and let them play. Brewster should have acted earlier in bringing on Bazza........Denzil was having a bad day. 2 points lost I would venture. Nice to meet the Durness crew in the Alamo
  3. Great news...............Good luck to y'all
  4. Oh what a night ( another musical link for you Gringo)................How many ICT fans were there? It will never happen again. Feels like about 8 years ago I must say. Now that Mantis has gone home we can talk about him............who's to go first?
  5. ..................that's all really. Very white in the Borders but I could get out if needs be. I could fair go a game!!! ( and yes this is ICT related.....................I'm not interested in going to see anyone else..............can't be a neutral)
  6. If WE know this, then surely the club have a chance to take some action re protecting the pitch ( whatever that cuould be) or at least letting the travelling public know that there may be a problem.
  7. Having just seen the weather forecast for Friday, I have to say that I think this weekends game must be in jeopardy. The pitch was unplayable tonight presumably. However, although missing a game would be a pain in the ***, I am still definately AGAINST a winter shut down. Lets hope I am wrong.
  8. What a game, what an atmosphere. Another one I witnessed but I didn't realise he hit 3
  9. Good player. **** I saw that one too!! Maybe I should stop going to games!
  10. Just off to my scratcher after a busy night-shift. Before I go it occurred to me that I have witnessed a few hatricks against us over the seasons. Last week of course.........then there was the 4-4 Cup final with Alloa (Martin Cameron?),Billy Dods in the League Cup ( hadn't even sat down when he scored the first!). the last one i remember was Owen Coyle in a 3-4 reverse at home...........a great game with some great goals(a certain B Robson scored a scorcher that day). Any others?
  11. Busy yesterday....................just picked up the paper. Unbelievably tragic for Phil's family, friends and everyone connected with Scottish football. I enjoyed watching him.................in this age of cliche and sound bite, he truly was a model professional and a credit to his sport. R.I.P.
  12. No..................you're OK David. Car load from Borders/Edinburgh will appear...................inc. Chinese rep.
  13. I don't really want to spoil the euphoria. It was a superb afternoons entertainment with echoes of the Pele era. However I was getting very concerned when we sat back with 20-25 mins to play and let Hearts have the ball and play a bit. There were also moments of complacent showboating. Brews substitution of Bayne for Black was puzzling and did not work for me. Niculae should definately have been hooked. Blackie (who bossed the 1st half) didn't look too chuffed. The way we finally pushed forward and got the decider was the stuff of legends but we should have been taking the game to them for the preceding 20 mins...............not sure who was giving the orders out there. 5 in a row and I am still moaning..............there is no pleasing some people! Well done to all.................the crowd were great too Happy Whatsit
  14. Where does Denzil fit into new look ICT on his comeback? If its not broke don't fix it.............and its definately working.
  15. I am no good at anagrams at this time in the morning
  16. Ceraintly I wish him all the best, however, the little I did see of Dean , I thought he was way below the standard required and a poor piece of recruitment.
  17. Naelifts,Mantis,Mr AND Mrs Wandererer plus two guests for this one.
  18. lets hope you get the perfect pressie tomorrow!!
  19. For God's ( please feel free to insert, Sun Myung Moon, David Koresh, Jim Jones, Dennis Wyness) sake. Its only the 14th up here. We have just finished with Hanukkah and I am looking forward to Eid Al-Addha. One thing at a time eh?
  20. And continuing the theme of good news............ A lovely little Yngwiette was born last night to Ian and Alison. All doing well I am told. One slight problem...............you can't really call a girl Marius, can you ? Fellow moderators............feel free to promote this to the top of the board
  21. Surprisingly this little aside from Saturday has failed to find its way onto these boards. It was a classic of its type and had its ridiculous, funny and sad elements. I refer , of course, to the confiscation of a little boys horn by a burly steward. This man, who if checking his geneology will almost certainly find some relatives with the name Adolf, appeared to have nothing better to do than harrass an innocent young travelling fan for " making a noise" at a football match. To say that the offending article constituted any sort of threat to security is like saying that The Mantis has a full head of hair...............its just not true! It has to be said that our steward friend barely turned a hair whilst under intense scrutiny and being on the receiving end of not a little abuse...............what a pro!! Off he marched proudly parading the captured item all the way round the pitch.............what a ******!!!. But, there was more to come. Back he stormed; once again all the way round the running track still gripping the instrument. His long march must have been to consult his supervisor ( what a mighty man he must be to make such weighty decisions!!!),and, having done this he was returning to the scene of the crime. What was going through this poor pillocks mind when he slowly mounted the steps into the stand and, head bowed, he was forced to return the horn to its rightful owner. A right royal round of applause echoed around the away stand. Surprisingly, none of this made the highlights last night ( not much did!), with the BBC preferring to feature a 30 yard scorcher instead.....................these editors with their fancy ideas!
  22. Flawless display today Brosno. Handled cleanly, distributed well, came for the ball when he had to,one seriously good decision to come and punch the ball in the 2nd half which no-one else appears to have seen. It has to be said we were looking very solid at the back today.
  23. Here we go again. Seems our defense is now catching the medias attention...............for the wrong reasons!! Tricky conditions...............come on guys...............I'll take a point
  24. Stunning response David.........................if I had a very long handled shovel. Come on guys!!!
