  1. I thought she was older than that
  2. Now , where did I hear that before?.............
  3. I have alluded to this elsewhere but I thought it might deserve a topic of its own. I guess I will soon find out . I thought Tuffey had a good game last night although God only knows what he is thinking this morning. I think Ryan will be thanking his lucky stars that he was left out. Pretty much faultless with all the goals I thought that he was commanding in the air and saved brilliantly on more than one occasion in the first half.......once with his feet and another time full length to his right. He was maybe lucky to stay on the park late on but I had a poor view of that. He was left sooo exposed at times by the high line of our defense (what was that all about with the pace that Celtic have?) but wasn't holding back when chastising the guilty parties. He must be feeling sh*t this morning but I say.........well played lad..........you will hopefully never have to endure that again
  4. Travelled home in a car full of Tims............say no more. You could only take your hat off to them though. We were dire at the back (I actually thought that Tuffey played OK. He handled a couple in the air well and made two great saves.one with his feet and one diving full length to his right.............no chance with the goals), but Celtic took full advantage and were awesomely powerful going forward at pace. The big new Swede at the back looks the part...........a white Balde. The gulf in class was embarrassing and I too question Butchers thought process.........I think he may be regretting it now. It could have been double figures. I don't know the answer. We were all saying it will be different on Saturday. Well, its payback time for me..........I want a performance. If, on the other hand, there is an adverse reaction and we make a horlicks of it ............then we are in trouble.........and I know who I would blame!
  5. Just back from a short break to hear this sad, sad news. Alison was a lovely lady. I had not seen her for many a moon although bumping into Ian from time to time. Like many others I had no idea she was ill. So sorry to hear this and all my best wishes go to Ian and his family.
  6. The Scotsman says that Bavidge has been tied up at work............is this legal?
  7. Just flicked onto the forum while I was contemplating a largish investment at the very generous odds offerred up by the bookies on this fixture. They got it way wrong on Sunday (5/1!!) and they have done it again. Gone are the days when Caley were overpriced for almost every game in the lower divisions but the bookies still have a tendancy to see the promoted side as whipping boys early season. I hear all that is said and it is a matter for some thought. However, without being complacent, I cannot see us not winning this game. Now..............how much?
  8. Our favourite steward on Sunday was hanging on to his lunchbox as if his life depended on it. So , what was in the said tupperware............the crown jewels? I think that if Johndo had had his way.........his crown jewels may well have been in a box by full time! Any suggestions?
  9. Sundays result has indeed reverberated round Scotland. I have had as many "well dones" and murmurs of approval as you would normally expect if ICT had turned over one of the Old Firm. Our team were magnificent to a man so it would seem churlish to level any criticism. Those that know me will tell you that I am anything but churlish (possibly a poll there Scotty!). So, before I make my point, please do not see this as criticism.....it is not. I thought at the time, and the feeling has been confirmed by replays, that Eric should have shot when one on one with the goalkeeper prior to squaring the ball for Adam to score. Given that the ball ended up in the onion bag one can hardly accuse him of making the wrong decision, but, would a more confident player have pulled the trigger. In the first half Eric had two shots, one with his left peg ,one with his right, if I remember correctly, and they both dribbled through to the keeper. Perhaps this was on his mind. In the past our team has, to my mind, gone through long periods where it seemed nobody was willing to take responsibility in the final third and "have a go". In the SPL there may not be many occurrences of being " one on one". We must make them count. Eric was a revelation for me on Sunday........a constant irritant for United and, as Mantis pointed out, seemingly much better at using the ball when he has much less time to think about it than he did most of last season. If he is lacking in confidence then lets hope he bags a couple quickly. For me Rooney was outstanding as highlighted in Andrew's or Mary's ( I don't know which you prefer) match report. As a matter of interest, as a match scribe from yesteryear, did you find that taking copious notes detracted from your enjoyment of the experience?
  10. No bother............just found it. Been under the bath all day ymip. Can't get the damn thing started!
  11. Just woke up alone.................you could at least have left a note
  12. I'll bunch up Don. I'll sleep with anyone tonight. Hope your back improves.
  13. Quick note to say ............what a great day in the sun. The whole summer wine crew in attendance............a support in great voice............the boys playing a blinder. Goal difference plus 3 after Celtic at home and d Utd away cannot be bad. Superb opportunity surely to move onto 6 points next week. Richie still to come back. Its looking quite good to say the least. Will leave it to others for in depth analysis.....those more eloquent and insightful than me. Now..............where is that darkened room?
  14. Ah...............an experienced pisher. Well done you
  15. One more comment before Scotty declares this a Road Safety thread. Any amount of tinkering will make no difference. The road cannot take the volume and nature of traffic it is forced to carry. It would be rail every time for me if I was anywhere near a bl**dy railway station! Took the train from Aviemore yesterday ( long story why I was there). It was such a pleasure and so stress free despite the carraiges having a distinct green and white hue, a definite smell of alcohol and three grown men at a time visiting the toilet. With public purse pressures upon us a lot of (so-called) unessential work will be put on the back burner. I fear for some of the programmes listed above. In any case................they are only sticking plasters

    A9

Never mind car parks and stadium bars.......................could someone sort the A9 please. It is tortuous. If, God forbid, summer football ever gets the nod then a journey north will be a no-no. Thank you
  17. Almost impossible to get either today at half time. Why was the North stand crowd not allowed under the main stand for these facilities? I was famished and bursting at full time!!!!!!
  18. Which of course is what is going to happen.
  19. Please stick me down for a couple Naelifts and Mrs Naelifts. Ta
  20. Haven't a scooby where Grosblie is Yngers but you can bet your bottom dollar Mantis (or what ever he is called now after his op) has spent a night there and has a tale to tell!
  21. What a story.................but one we have all read before. So tragic for his family. The rules of these high terrains were followed.............probably stretched, by the brave men that tried to save Peter. Anyone who doesn't get it could do worse than watch "Touching the Void". This is an entertaining and gripping film and gives some insight into the choices that have sometimes to be made. R I P
  22. Good for you DJS. Hope you have a great day out. I am otherwise engaged tomorrow but wish County all the luck in the world. Theirs is a fabulous achievement.
