21st March Falkirk
could maybe arrange to pick you up John
-
3000
Am I correct in thinking that there were three thousand souls at the game yesterday and a third of them were from Falkirk? I seem to have picked that up from somewhere. If so then the suits must be getting very twitchy. This does noy bode well. After one of our best EVER results and for a Scottish quarter to boot you would have been hoping for 50% more. It looks to me like a good swathe of our support are either unable to justify the cost of attending on a saturday or are just entirely pissed off with the entertainment, or lack of it , that has been served up this season. These people may be hard to get back. Should the club gamble and lower prices; produce a mini season ticket; or simply sit back and hope for the best. Of course, needless to say and before anyone points it out............I wasnae there. I had a 10 year olds birthday party to attend...........it was great.

Walking On Air ....part 2
Feb 9th 2000 saw me leaving the house with an awkward gait. It was as if I had bought a pair of Dr Martens but forgot about the purchase. All day I beamed at strangers in the street, whistled softly to myself, had the inner contentment that Tibetan monks strive for over years of sacrifice. The feeling lasted for several days and was compounded by the back slapping from well-wishers. I was a proud man. Today, over 9years on, I feel a similar glow................quite remarkable Quote of the night from a dewy eyed youngster at Ibrox: " I love Russell Duncan in so many ways" What a night, what a journey

Tynecastle........free buses please!
We must march on Edinburgh in force. The club should lay on buses again. Lets start sorting our club out. All of a sudden I see a glimmer of hope.

21st Century Schizoid Man
A title sure to draw the attention of our more senior readership I am sure. I spent a perversely enjoyable 90 mins on Saturday afternoon cocooned between an elderly sage from Aberdeen and a passionate and voluble Invernessian. The latter provided a colourful commentary for the spectacle in front of us. Hardly a feast of silky skills and glorious interplay it was indeed deserving of some of the RICH and varied adjectives delivered. A veritable thesaurus of condemnation and criticism was hurled forth by this increasingly hoarse and irate spectator. Blood pressures were reaching critical levels when in the 97th windswept and sodden moment the referee did the humane thing and blew for full time. As if a switch had been thrown my neighbours' demeanour became that of the silent vanquished..........without hope. We parted company. Within the hour I was listening to an eloquent, level-headed,rational,articulate and good humoured gentleman engaging Jim Traynor in an intelligent and rounded discussion on ICT's current plight. Could this have been the same man? What metamorphisis had taken place? Were drugs involoved? This truly was a 21st Century Schizoid Man PS For those who didn't hear him, JT said that he thought that CB would get until the end of the season or until we were well detached....................hope he is wrong!

Hamilton -V- ICT : Matchday Thread
Have to agree with that. The pub session was brilliant. It was great to meet up with so many of the regular contributors to this website, and put faces to names like King Beastie, CaleyStan, Alternative Maryhill, Naelifts...to name but a few. Always good craic of course with IHE, the Mantis, DJS, Caley100 and TM4TJ... Great too, to hear 10 second snatches of all Mannie's favourite CD tracks in the CaleyD bus.... I agree it would have been boring to have been subjected to much more than that. This was a great day out... Would I do it again? Absolutely - but only on condition that I wouldn't have to watch another match like that again... Good to meet you too Johnboy

HAMILTON PUB INVITE

Munro as Captain
I remarked at the time that when Granty "led" out his team after half time his chin was dragging along the ground and he could not have looked less inspirational.

Congratulations to Calum & Jill
Well done bart.....................well thats how i remember you. Congrats to all

HAMILTON PUB INVITE

An observation.........and some praise!
In times of turmoil such as these................and we have had some worrying downturns before (notably at the start of a season)...............we look to our senior players to keep young heads up and lead by example on the pitch. Step forward Royston Mcbain................how good has he been in recent weeks? I remember posting many years ago.........something like "unsung hero".............the times were similar although not as bad, but the hero was the same man......Roy. If you are reading this lad you can hold your head up high. Singled out correctly by commentators in both of our last two games he has come onto his game at just the right time. Not without his detractors, Roy can have very effective quiet games........games in which he goes unnoticed (invisible some would say). His is not a glamourous part and he really has to excel to be noticed. No-one can ever have faulted his effort and commitment and he possesses one of the best engines in the league. ps this may help as an antidote to all the doom and gloom around these days. some folk i know have just stopped looking at the forums because the same stuff is regurgitated day on day. you can hardly blame the fans.......we are in a pickle.......but, in this case.............credit where credit is due

Elvis
The Scotsman reports Brewster having made an offer and speculates that EP could be in the side v Rangers on Sunday. Pressley/Robertson team anyone?
-
Elvis
Surely the Elvis situation is now promoted to this forum as it has become apparent that this is no longer a rumour. The club are in touch and an approach has been made. A formidable centre back and leader (how is Granty going to react to that/or will he replace Granty on the park?) it remains to be seen whether he is interested. Could he shore us up at the back? That would only leave the dugout, the midfield and the forward line to sort out. Progress indeed!

ICT -V- Aberdeen : matchday thread .....

A plea from Blackie
Hey Alex. there are more important things than football (increasingly these days!) STAY SAFE OUT THERE

Best wishes to BARRY WILSON
Yep. A sad day. My fav was probably the opener against Celtic on Feb 8th 2000. I have never been so close to a full blown coronary event!. Wishing you well in all you do

ICT AND VAT
Remind us TBB. This is the sort of thing that I used to switch on to read.............ah.........the halcyon days!!
-
ICT AND VAT
This is one of the best threads that I have read in a long time. We have had the accountant speak............where is the maths teacher? Personally I think they should make the pies 2.13 % smaller and still charge the same. In the case of macaroni , taking out one macaron should do it!
