  1. Bl**dy h*ll. Going out with the dogs again! seems to be good luck
  2. You are being generous. It was only 3 mins. By 5 mins we should have been 2 down! Sounds like Mikey at fault. I'm off out with the dogs.........................
  3. It is getting nigh on impossible to motivate myself to attend home games this term. The more easily accessible away games are much more attractive. And when we get the chance to revisit the old haunts of halcyon days the juices really start flowing. Arbroath was a great trip...............I am talking here about an overall experience, not purely in terms of football. The return to Morton was another such voyage. And what a pleasure it turned out to be. As Weestie said, car parking was easy, there is a huge bar capable of accommodating hundreds on the door step, the stewards and police were polite and helpful ( and when it came to the more raucous stuff.....very tolerant). Morton have spent a lot of money doing up their ground and when it is full it must be a rocking venue. Those amongst our support who were singing about a shed were SO wide of the mark. I would say it is a much better and user-friendly facility than ours. Thank you Greenock for your hospitality. On the football front I met many who thought that I had been over-critical on Saturday. I stand by my comments however and feel many were re-inforced last night. I concede that Mr Imrie had one of his good days and was probably our best player. Rooney added something when he came on. It was good to see Russell back although he was obviously a bit rusty. Morton played well and looked a useful oufit. It was never going to be easy. If Rosscoe's header (that came back off the post and hit him , only to bounce harmlessly to safety) had gone in, we would have lost the game. The celebration with the players was enough to send us home happy. I couldn't help thinking though that this was our level..........I hope that i am proved wrong
  4. They always seem to muck us about with this fixture. Ticket only is the mantra until the 11th hour when they relent and sell tickets at the ground. Tickets are now available through our office and I have got mine to avoid confusion and a long wait in a queue on Saturday
  5. Because " Its like a fridge and its a hassle" but its still wonderful!
  6. You are missing the point Don. We were/are mince. Up front the situation is dire. Barrowboy is supposed to be lethal at last nights level. Rory and Gary were too similar (in stature/style and playing ability). How many more chances is McAllister going to get? I echo Mantis' concerns. Where do we go from here?
  7. Its all good stuff. Was extremely worried about Scotty " not even looking to see what games were on " the next time he was in Scotia. I'm glad he has relented as I knew he would. The club would have to be seriously worried if he gave up the cause! Arbroath tonight............can't wait. This trip evokes such good memories of the good old days

No idea whether this will be regarded as non-ICT or not. I think it is relevant. The sound of tightening belts must be coming from the boardroom. The building trade is in serious long-term doo-doo. Any thoughts?
  10. Unfortunately, that triple Yes album may well be their last. Jon, still a magnificent performer, has a chronic respiratory problem which caused them to cancel their summer/autumn US tour. They were rumoured to be heading to Europe thereafter..............they may still do so.......I hope so. Anyhoo............I am off piste n,est ce pas.................Niculae was a step too far for ICT. The whole saga cost the club too many problems. He is a decent player but my 30 year old Rega deck does me just fine. I was never a Bang and Olufsen man. Does anyone know what I am talking about?..........maybe Gordy
  11. Hi Guzz...........do I still owe you money? If so sorry........and it will be on its way
  12. Best I can do is this. Many years ago Brian Taylor (BBC Scotlands political editor) stood with us at Ayr Utd.
  13. With the laudibly ambitious Motherwell board making Mark McGhee an improved package in order to secure his services, I was wondering whether Mr Brewster and Co were going to do the same for me as we approach another season. After the interminable 2007/08 season finally coming to an end, the autopsy and evaluation must take place. Those of you who know me, recognise a fully fledged member of the value-for-money brigade (Neil Young/Tom Waits tickets excepted naturellement!) Next season it will cost me ?10 more to fill my tank with fuel. The tarmacadam snake that is the A9 only gets busier as people belatedly realise the attractions of living in or visiting the Highlands. I would not normally drive for 7hrs to go and see Indiana Jones and the Helmsdale Hermit if I knew that the gig was going to cost me ?70-100, the film was generally poor and the ending predictable. By the same token, if the film was poor, i would not return to see it 4 times in a year! We are stuck in the stagnant and putrid waters of the SPL ( a place I never wanted to be) . I am sick of going to Kilmarnock (the A71 surely being the single worst cross-country route in Europe); likewise Paisley; Falkirk is grim (although at least they try and have a decent guy at the helm). The so-called "big games" are no longer attractive.......we've done it all before. Come on SPL......freshen it up. Let's have a bigger division with more comings and goings at the end of the season. As other pastimes beckon, football must not be complacent. What improved offer am I going to receive so that i may continue to grace the Innes and Caley Stadium in the coming year? My initial demands are: Ambition and quality.....................Are the bean-counters content with the current balance sheet? Is that all that matters? Do they look to the future? How many young converts do you think passed through the turnstiles this season?, how many more next season?. We can't rely on return visits from old codgers like me. I'll pass on the Niculae debate.....it's been done to death. Personally I think it has had a net detrimental effect on ICT. Play the youngsters......get Zander and Vigurs on the park. Just as importantly...........recognise crap when you see it and get rid. Entertainment and excitement is what the punter wants. Don't treat us like idiots! Be open and honest with us. We pay your wages. Post match interviews should be handled by an articulate club representative and reflect what was on the park. "We played well", "I'm proud of them", We were unlucky". No we weren't!!...We were SH*T.......and it's my fault! I want guile, understanding and tactical awareness. If something is not going according to plan............fix it!.....and before 87 minutes! Show us that you have an understanding of the game. Everyone in the stands can see that something is wrong long before any action is taken. Pricing structures need to be looked at. A kid should not have to pay more than a fiver to get into a game. And, certainly, come the meaningless end-of-season matches, I should not pay more than ?10. And while we are at it. Sort the merchandising out.........the shop is a joke! Stewarding..........I know, I know..it's all been said before. From the car park to the terraces.....you are there to facilitate our enjoyment....remember that! "Have a nice day" Make the whole package a day out. I don't need pole dancers at half time ( but wouldn't say no). Surely the club can come up with some innovative entertainment. I can only imagine the "show" that Scotty sees when he goes to see Toronto............maybe he can tell us. You could start with a bar!..........remember Falkirks Budwar tent? It's all easy to say..............harder to do. But that's what we pay you for. ICT and the SPL WILL pay for their complacency. Money is tighter than ever before. Belts are being tightened round the land. As more businesses and pastimes compete for our leisure time we must get our act together. Like a man who knows that, deep down, his relationship is on the rocks...........I'll give it one last chance..........and we BOTH have to work at it!. But I won't be fobbed off with the promise of a quickie over the kitchen table! I'm already having an affair with Peebles Rugby Club! and it upsets me to say that.
  14. This whole sorry mess is symptomatic of the kind of shady dealing with which I have no truck. It is straight out of Westminster. It is a complete turn-off and accentuates my lack of desire to be part of the ICT story anymore. Having said that..............I will , of course, be at Tynecastle on Saturday. As the Kinks once said " Where have all the good times gone?" If you are listening Board....................Some plain speaking please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Just tried to put mine back to Feb 8th 2000.............................it didn't work!!
  16. .........I might turn up next week
  17. Sorry...........am I to understand that we have just had an entertaining 45 mins???? What a tube Russell!!!
  18. I am bored with being told by a reliable informant that what I have just been informed of, was from a reliable source. LG off to the shinty; Mee coming down from those caves way up on the hill and heading for Dingwall...............me............I think I may go and watch my local rugby side. I didn't think it would ever happen but my patience has worn very thin. Sort it out ICT or you may have seen the last of me for a good long while. Its just NOT GOOD ENOUGH
  19. Nice to see you at Hammersmith oh tasteful one. What a blinding gig. Took along my brother-in-law. The last gig he had gone to was one Wild Willy Barrett........................................respect!
  20. Any Brewster comments after this latest gash? I am getting increasingly sick of being told that we played well......................it never seems to match up to what I have seen on the park.
  21. I think that many truths have been spoken on this thread. The apathy shown by previous generations of posters may well be to do with a reluctance to tear themselves away from the memories of , what seemed like, better days. Like childhood summers.......everything under Pele was great. I always said, to the point i am sure of boring everyone, that i would not follow ICT into the SPL where the rules and regs are heavily influenced by the powerful few and enforced in a bullying fashion on the "minor" clubs. Where the stadia are sterile, concrete and plastic, soulless places overseen by stewards with ideas above their station and no notion of letting people enjoy themselves, let off steam and build an atmosphere. Of course....I still go. But I do not have the same passion and do not glean as much enjoyment out of a trip as I used to. The Innes clan, and indeed the Caley Inn before it are still around but the SPL tears the heart out of football. I feel so sorry for Scotty and CaleyD for the many hours they put in to keep this ship afloat but I think these things are inextricably linked. So many times they ask for input/ suggestions and get very little or no reponse. It is up to all of us to keep the site going..............if you don't use it ....you'll lose it. Perhaps the only thing that would really buck things up would be relegation........and we don't want that..............or do we???? Happy Birthday to DC Weeman in Washington DC
