  1. Whats your point?
  2. Great argument there. Did you not realise you were disproving your own argument in the same sentence as you made it and contradicting your own point. You are right though...Jesus! Well nearly all of them arn't. Maybe a couple of them might be counted as bigoted because they probably say stuff like **** off out of Ireland ya british ********. Never know these days though
  3. Well, I grew up in West Central Scotland and from what I see, Celtic don't have a significant minority of bigots in their heartland...it's the majority. The songs were all full of IRA and anti-protestant sentiment. No exaggeration. Sectarian violence. Verbal abuse. It's a completely different atmosphere to liking Celtic in the Highlands. Wear a Rangers shirt to the Barras and see how well-meaning the hardcore of Celtic fans are. Jesus... songs about the IRA are not sectarian. They are not bigoted either except maybe one or two. No, they are not in the majority. You think because you lived in the central belt for a while you must know it all? I have most my family living there. I go down on a regular basis. Also, being a Celtic fan i see these things first hand. But i can assure you it is very much in the minority So it's perfectly acceptable to boo black players too? That's political. It's pretty obvious you sympathise with left-wing politics (so do I as it happens) but it can't be that the left can have a voice but the right, with Nazi flags, BNP leaflets, anti-immigration rhetoric and racist chanting are denied just because it's not the kind of politics you like. I take it your suggesting they Boo protestant players? Well thats a pile of bollocks and its obvious you don't actually pay much attention. Your compairing the waving of a Tri-colour or a Palastinian flag the same as the Swastika? Now that really is rediculous. Everyone has the free will to wave these flags if they want. Not my fault if the government see flying the swastika a little more negative than flying a Tri-colour. You hide it well. Don't think you have to be saint to condemn religious bigotry and support for terrorism that was only supported by a minority of Catholics in their own country. Likewise, I don't think you have to be a saint to denounce the booing of black players either. Obviously, as you're a Celtic supporter, why not just blame everything on a Masonic conspiracy. That's what you lot usually do. Thats your fecking problem! You're so hung up on the whole Catholic-Protestant! Most Celtic fans who support the IRA's actions hate Sectarianism. For the simple reason people like Wolfetone were Protestants but fought for Irish Independace. Some Celtic fans maybe hooked on a conspiracy. But, people like you are hooked on the idea all Old-Firm fans are sent from the devil to destroy our beloved Country and cause trouble
  4. Fact is, Celtic have a good few sectarian and bigoted fans. But every fan of other club in Scotland exageratte it to such a great deal. They say that every fan of either side of the OF is a bigot. For instance.. look at this thread. Started to complain YET again about the OF. **** sake, how many times does it need to be brought up that most of you think OF fans are bigots? Instead of thinking on two sides, like i have to being on an Inverness forum, it is safe to say that - as i have said - you just think that its all bollocks because every Celtic fan that waves a National flag of a country other than Scotland is a bigot and there to cause trouble. Ever thought that maybe they just arn't as oh so nationalistic towards Scotland as you might be? That they might sympithise with a country other than their own. Which is not a crime. Though you would think it looking at this forum. Then someone will say "But it has no place in football" Utter Bollocks. Things like Palastine, The Troubles, Catalonia, The Spainish Civil War.. Factors in the Political world that are held close to the heart of a person or a group have always been shown off in Football. Long before anyone on this forum was around anyway. Just like when crowds sang the name of Neville Chamberlin after he came back from the Munich agreement! If you don't want Politics in Football, why the poppy? The Soldiers getting free tickets? Not saying i disagree with either.. its just a question I have ranted a lot. I can't even make sense of half the ***** i have written. I am not claiming to be a nuetral and that i see things the way they truely are. I have a bias. But, so does nearly everyone on this forum and just as i might be looking through tinted glasses, so are a lot of you. So just remember that when trying to act like a Saint and casting mis-givings over to others who see differently from yourself.
  5. "Never again will you be capable of ordinary human feeling. Everything will be dead inside you. Never again will you be capable of love, or friendship, or joy of living, or laughter, or curiosity, or courage, or integrity. You will be hollow. We shall squeeze you empty and then we shall fill you with ourselves." Capitalism has been more effective in producing these results than communism IMO. Orwell was a fan of neither and 1984 offers comment on both. DornochCaley, given your interest in all things left wing, i would recommend that you continue to read Orwell, especially his autobiographical pieces such as Homage to Catalonia, Down and Out in Paris and London and The Road to Wigan Pier. Correct. He is neither. But Socialist he is! Thanks, i will give them ago. Homage to Catalonia was next on my list anyway after i finish "Fighters Against Facsism" that i recently got from the Imprerial War Museium. Yep, fantastic. I have been ranting about it since i finished it. Unbelievable tbh. Just finished a fantastic book called "Daddy". It seems this year has been a good one when it comes to reading for me as it is another MUST read. It is set during WW2.. An 11 year old boy is on the run from the Gestapo in France and his Father is sent to help him. Little does the boy know that this American is actually his father. He is on the run because his mother held codes to a vast sum of money. The Gestapo were hoping to find the boy in exchange for the codes off the woman. Fantastic read and i finished all 370 pages in a day! Just could not put it down.
  6. I hope he is fit. I think Rossco is a very important member of the team and is solid at CB. Has given him a new lease of life.
  7. Celtic Football club have no such political connotations other than John "the *****" Ried. It's the fans that have these flags. Tbh, i don't really see the problem. Would you be annoyed if someone had an American flag with ICT on it? Though more often that not, this is all mistaken for sectarian hatered which is obviously going to happen when you live in a place like Scotland who is full of veeery small minded people. That's OK then, if somebody told you! I think people overuse the word 'sectarian' when really they mean 'political'. Why do your team (the green huns) and the other lot (the blue tims) have to sing political songs at all? BTW 'Boys of the Old Brigade' - if I'm not mistaken, that's the one where this jolly chap asks his pal where he's off to, and he says he's away to join the IRA, n'est-ce pas? Well yeah, he is a member of the Green Brigade after all. Yes, that is pretty much what it is about. But, it is the same core principle as the Soldier Song and Flower of Scotland.
  8. Defense tooks solid. I think this will be the backbone of the team and will cement our 9th placed finish!
  9. Expand the leagues and create a pyramid system. Simple
  10. I hate when sectarian songs are sung at football. Some Celtic fans do it, but i know for a fact they dont get away with it as those in the "Green Brigade" are against all that.. so a friend has told me who is a member. Boys of the Old Brigade ect are not sectarian, they are in the same league as flower of Scotland! They have been sung by Celtic fans since the 30s and will probably always be. The Flair looked rediculous from TV though they are the sort of things i would love to see in Scottish football. Flairs look good in Turkish games ect and help create a good atmosphere.
  11. You sure about that? There are 33 on our fixture list, being 3*11. Oops, you win.
  12. Since its during the Holidays and i have no money to buy any new Xbox games, i have been reading like maad. Just finished Nineteen Eighty Four. While it's understandable why many would dislike it. Saying it is boring, i have to say it was fantastic IMO. Couldn't put it down and the sheer thought Orwell put into the book is mighty in itself. It is powerful and one of the greatest books written by, in my opinion, one of the greatest authors ever.
  13. Firstly i would like to say well done people. This must be the first Thread in aages that is to do with Atmosphere and hasn't been dragged into Main Stand vs North Stand ect. One of the biggest problems is the stadium itself. Being so open and close to the sea kills nearly any noise me make. Celtic and Rangers are lucky to have HUGE away supports that can generate enough noise to make it to create a good atmosphere. If the club take notice (And im not just saying this because i sit there) that Section G do make the most noise. There are small pockets of fans across the back of the NS that also sing, but it is not enough. If and i mean IF the club can get a system working in which any people who wish to sing can move to Section G, then that will be great. The idea is to create one section that makes a whole load of noise and then that, in theory, should entice others to join in. A step in the right direction would be anyone who wants to sing, even just go up to the back of the North stand where there is anyone singing, section G or not, if there is spare seats and make your voice heard. As the Tesco advert says... Every Little Helps... though i would rather something Big!
  14. Nope. 31 then 5 after the split mate. Fantastic news! They sure have taken their time to do something like this. But its welcomed all the same!
  15. Finished reading "The Forgotten Highlander" and i would highly recommend it. At times he wanders on about his family and what he used to get up to when he was younger and you wonder where it is going, but it does get there. Truly great book which really shows you how POW's were treated by the Japanese. It shocked me to read it as it is a huge crime against humanity which is largely untold by the world today.
  16. To be honest mate, i think its out of order saying he is an embarrassment to the club. He is probably a Caley fan like me and you. Give him a break. End of the day, we come to watch football, not listen to a Fecking PA system. Fair enough, could be better but its not. Lets not moan.
  17. The performance last week was shocking, but to write Celtic off already is just stupid. Remember back to 2005... 5-0 Brataslava. Then at Celtic Park 4-0 Celtic and the Hoops missed a penalty. Two good performances in the emirates cup, bar some more terrible defending by Mulgrew who is awful. Its one thing to say the performance was shocking and Celtic have a small chance, but to write them off completely and say that Lennon will be getting the sack before the seasons over its very stupid. Just remember back to last season for ICT. A very poor performance against Montrose who finished bottom of D3! Now thats laughable. Then we never came into a game until November. We were shocking before then. So maybe thats worth a thought before writing other teams off so early.
  18. He would never come to us, and good. Hes a ******
  19. Celtic 'fans' from Inverness? Hope they get ejected. It's against SPL rules to sit in the wrong area no? Don't think so. I think its just team Colours or Celebrating the opposition goal when being in the other teams end which is deemed Ejectable.
  20. Obviously there will be a big demand for this game though i can't see them having sold out already. Better just phoning the ticket office, mate.
  21. County away please
  22. We live near eachother, was talking to him last week. No mention of why he hasn't been on though.
  23. Good to see us signing a new LB at last. Hopefully he will do the job. Im sure he will do better than Golly anyway. Love the guy, but hes past it
  24. Mods, any chance this might be able to get pinned? So it doesn't fall down the pecking order and needs to be fished out after every book finished by someone?
