  1. There will be black and white iced cakes in the baker's windows next.
  2. Personally, I'd very much rather not waiting until the last minute, penalty or not, to secure victory on Saturday.
  3. A decent signing. Not prolific but experienced and familiar with the league. Who knows, we may have the pace and running of Miles Storey as well by the time the window closes.
  4. Probably about as many as we'll take to Elgin on Saturday which, considering Elgin is half the size of Inverness, is not bad going on their part. That said, it's fair to say that we've left Elgin behind in just about every other respect.
  5. The Ionic. A proper old style pub on the High Street five minutes walk from Borough Briggs.
  6. We should beat Elgin but I'm not certain that coming off a three week break is an advantage. Elgin have played weekly and will be match fit whereas we could be a little off the pace in that respect. I remember that when we overturned Hearts at Tynecastle when we were in the Old First Division it was the Jambo's first game after the SPL's Winter break whereas we, as an SFL club, had played all the way through. I am convinced that that was as big a factor in our win then as Ross Tokeley's big heart. No room for complacency.
  7. To be fair, they do at least now have a Harry Gow's.
  8. Which is a balance that our club has been adept at achieving for a decade or more.
  9. ICT gave Shane his start in football and an opportunity to play in the top flight. Why on earth would he want revenge for anything ? He is, however, a professional and will no doubt want to do the best for his current club before he leaves you to return to a higher level befitting his talent.
  10. The stand seats have sold out.
  11. It's good to see some opposition fans getting involved in the thread. As I recall, that was a regular feature of our time in the lower leagues but hardly happens at all in the Premiership which, in my view, is a great shame.
  12. Pleased that you managed to get a recording of your day out in the big city.
  13. =1500 rubberbumbers.
  14. The stand actually holds more like 2,700.
  15. We should win but it is an IF especially as Elgin will be match sharp whereas we will be coming off the back of a three week lay off. A great chance to progress but absolutely no room for complacency.
  16. Maybe not but they tool a very healthy support of well over a thousand.
  17. At £12 full price and £7 concessions, well done to both clubs on the pricing front. Good to see a 'football special' train as well.
  18. Agreed. I believe the current capacity of Borough Briggs is circa 4,500. I can't see the attendance for this being more than 3,000 at the very most. I can see some merit in the stand being ticket only but surely, for the sake of common sense, the terracing could be pay at the gate.
  19. There may be defensive issues this season but it can hardly be said that scoring goals has not been the problem. Scoring goals is a problem and remains so. We may have a forward players on the books but none of them can be described as reliable goal scorers let alone anywhere close to being prolific. Not an easy task and one that we have not fulfilled since Billy McKay departed but we do need a fifteen plus goals a season forward.
  20. Yes, Elgin entered the selection process for the two new league places under that cloud whereas County went in on the back of an impressive 4-0 win away to Forfar in the Scottish Cup. That said, Elgin have hardly set the heather alight since they did later gain league entry.
  21. You're forgetting that some posts are ironic.
  22. I think that he does get credit and he deserves to. There is no denying his success. However, there is equally no denying that his place in club history was tarnished by the self serving manner in which he engineered his lucrative self serving exit.
  23. As Elgin is north of Inverness, shouldn't that be 'is there many of yous coming up ?'
  24. Well said. There are enough Central Belt 'pundits' talking us down without us resorting to doing it ourselves. We are indeed now a significant part of the Scottish football scene and, without ever getting over confident and taking things for granted, should regard ourselves as such and act accordingly.
