  1. All the more incentive for Miles to leave Pittodrie at least on loan.
  2. A clear indications that Central Belt 'pundits' are as ignorant of geography north of the Tay as they are about our football.
  3. To be fair to ictfcsince1994, he does say that it's his personal opinion and that he could well be wrong. This is a football forum and it is largely based on personal opinion.
  4. I don't condone the 'scuffles' that took place. They were childish, immature and frankly embarrassing. From the footage I have seen, powder puff handbags at dawn stuff by daft laddies. I do wonder whether Police Scotland should be directing their somewhat stretched resources elsewhere.
  5. His performance on Saturday did seem to present further evidence that he is not yet ready to play in our first team. However, he did have a decent scoring record in a very poor Newport County team and he did seem to have something about him when he first arrived. Given that he is on a three year contract and rather than writing him off just yet, there is merit, before the transfer window closes, on lending him out to a League 1 or League 2 team for the remainder of the season to give him game time, sharpen him up and perhaps remind him just how fortunate he is to be playing full time football for a living. I appreciate that any part time lower league club would not want or be able to pay his full salary but even if they paid half or a third, there would be a financial advantage, albeit very modest, to the club as well.
  6. Then let's hope they are just that complacent about the tie.
  7. Of course you do. Maybe you can point me to your last even vaguely critical or questioning post expressing an opinion as a fan ?
  8. I still rate OFW despite him not being in the best of form just now and I appreciate that you feel it your role to defend and talk up the club and it's employees. However, to say that no 'keeper could have reacted to save that poorly executed shot is just ridiculous. The sun may or may not have been in his eyes but it was a clear goalkeeping error. In the end we recovered from that early reverse and won more comfortably than the scoreline suggests. No harm done in the end but it does no harm being prepared to acknowledge shortcomings and hopefully learn from them.
  9. I doubt that very much. A cup visit to Parkhead would have been your club's biggest match this century whereas such trips are routine for us at least twice a season. The cash generated is a welcome wee windfall for us which might enable us to recruit one additional player whereas that sum would transform your finances for this season and next. An indication of how far we've come and how far you haven't.
  10. Some credit to the SFA for getting the timing of the draw right and holding it immediately after the final match rather than some random Thursday afternoon a week and a half after the preceding round has concluded. That credit slightly tarnished by almost cocking it up again.
  11. Agreed and the fact that the rules on the tournament permit the use of two goalkeepers and to allow the fans to assist by pulling down their players in the box when playing in Glasgow against Celtic is an added bonus.
  12. I actually think it's a good draw. A guaranteed six figure pay day with the distinct possibility of a further cash windfall for live TV could well mean that we are able to strengthen further for the remainder of the league campaign. Also, we have a very decent record against them in this tournament especially in Glasgow.
  13. We never have been.
  14. Refreshing to see that Elgin are a bit more open about ticket sales than we are. I have never understood our tendency to secrecy especially when it comes to season ticket numbers. Nudging over 3,000 is a decent crowd for this match.
  15. Walk up on the day is a welcome and common sense course with neither Elgin or us looking close to selling out. Might help to nudge the gate above 3,000.
  16. Nobody hates anybody. Generally speaking, Elgin City and their fans are not even on our radar. No hatred in this thread, merely pre match banter.
  17. Or, indeed, any beginnings.
  18. A bit like Dingwall but without the Wimpey.
  19. In fact, a track record of losing track of the number of tickets printed and it appears that, in Moray, the correct term is 'selt'.
  20. I don't think that any of us are blinded and think we are too good to go down. We are all too well aware of that possibility and the serious implications thereof. However, one thing that we have been calling for is an experienced striker used to the league. In Anier, we now have that. He may who you were looking for personally but for goodness sake, give the man a chance before getting your knife out on him and the management and don't forget, there is still another fortnight until the transfer window closes during which there may be other incomings.
  21. Possibly not but, unlike Niculae, he won't be on a salary at least five times that of any of his colleagues.
  22. One of those unenforceable 'options' we seem so keen on.
  23. Not clear yet whether tickets will be sold at the ground on the day although common sense would dictate that they should be since it's pretty clear that we are not going to sell our full allocation beforehand.
