So, what's changed?
I think there are three main factors. Firstly, Liam Polworth is a fantastic and fantastically committed player who has been wasted for most of the season by being played out of position when he has been played at all. The last couple of games have shown beyond doubt just what a difference this round peg can make when placed in a round hole and it seems that the manager has got the message and if he's continued to be played in his most effective position for the rest of the season I'm convinced he will reward the manager by continuing to make a difference. Secondly, Billy McKay brings with him not only his obvious goal threat but an ability and willingness to run tirelessly for 90 minutes getting into threatening areas and pulling defenders out of position in a way that the other strikers we've played this season, whatever other qualities they may have, simply aren't capable of. Thirdly, OFW has recently regained his confidence and, with it his form which in turn has made a big difference to the confidence of the defence in him. My only comment on Friday's defensive selection is that, as decent as Laing and McCart are, I would not play either of them ahead of a fit Gary Warren. I appreciate that Warren has not been in the best of form but neither had those around him and there's no reason why his confidence and form won't improve with the others. On his day, there are not many better in the league. We can't be complacent. There's no doubt that we are still in a bitter relegation dog fight but recent events make me, for one, think it's a fight that we have much more chance of winning than appeared likely at the beginning of the month after that abject defeat at Hamilton. Finally, we the fans must continue to play our part as we did on Friday.

Match 1000
I too would probably back East Kilbride based on potential, particularly as they don't have a predecessor club which engaged in cheating and financial impropriety to the extent of tens of millions of pounds. Nor, as far as I am aware, are their fans in possession of a grossly offensive song book.

Test Poll
Thanks Gringo. Maybe now you can fix the poll

Match 1000
Agreed, they are every bit as bad as the club with a similar name that for some reason they were permitted to replace in the league ahead of other potential applicants with far longer history yet much much less baggage.

Test Poll
What the bloke from Coventry NIL says.
-
Match 1000
I don't know the answer to that but do know that our opponents on Friday have played about 800 competitive matches fewer than us.

Goalkeeping Crisis
He'd be no match for Bobby Mann in a pie eating contest.

I refer you to Caleygirl's post based on her personal observations.

John Hughes, not half as daft as some think he is, not a fraction as clever as he thinks he is.

For what it's worth, I didn't red dot you.

Good as you think this bloke Kinsella is,Personally, I would have preferred it if we had retained Marsella.

ICT v Warburton & Weir Wanderers
Maybe you should reconsider the title of this thread given that Warburton and Weir have, in fact, wandered.

Hearts -V- Inverness CT
I agree entirely. The last time The Rangers visited on a Friday evening we missed gilt edged chances right at the start and right at the end of the match. This fixture owes us three points. Moreover, we have been the 'crisis club' of the Premiership for a few weeks now. With the happenings on and off the park at Ibrox just now, win on Friday and that title will be well and truly transferred to the visitors and the knuckle dragging hoards who follow follow them. If Dundee can do it there's absolutely no reason why we can't. Remember we have won a major national trophy. The Rangers never have.

It seems to me that Bughtmaster is fully entitled to his opinion even if it does very often seem to be rather skewed and very much in the minority. He his equally entitled to air his view on this site. It is, after all, a forum for fans of ICT with all sorts of view points. Nor do I think he can be criticised for attended relatively few matches. We don't know his personal circumstances and dyed in the wool fan's, wholly supportive of the club, are not able to attend often or sometimes at all for reasons of finance, geography, infirmity, work commitments and countless other reasons. Where I do take exception is with his persistent tendency to sneer at and denigrate others, often the majority, who hold different and entirely legitimate views many of which are based on what, unlike him, they glean from a little inside information or see on the pitch with their own eyes week after week while he is sitting at home listening to Open All Mikes sniping at the summarisers for making legitimate criticisms of our style of play particularly towards the end of the Hughes era when we could all see very clearly what was happening. Worse still is his arrogant and high handed tendency to speak of the 'support' of those he disagrees with clearly implying that he doesn't believe that these people, many of whom put a great deal of time, effort and hard earned cash genuinely supporting the club we all love in very practical and financial terms. So, I suggest that he continues to post his opinions after all the site would be a very dull place if we were all of one mind but does so in a somewhat more respectful manner and, for goodness sake, when you've clearly lost the debate put that bloody shovel away and move on to something else.

JH was the author of his own downfall at ICT. Managers will invariably push their chairmen for more money but that should have been kept in house. The moment he went bleating to his friends in the media he was acting entirely in his own interests and against those of the club. Richie has obvious shortfalls in his ability as a coach, at least for now, but there is no doubting that he has more class in that respect than Yogi.

The case foran against
In many very many respects we are not 'many other clubs' and, over the years, have been all the better for it.

January Transfer Window
If the lad has anything about him he will have a point to prove having been released by Motherwell.
-
The case foran against
I am supporting the team and the manager all the way in the battle against relegation. Continuing talk about a fruitless battle for top six that was lost weeks ago is nothing more than a distraction from the very real task that is becoming more and more difficult with every passing winless week.

January Transfer Window
Looks like, in this case, he was being shrewd.

The case foran against
Ambition and talking up potential is all very well but right now we are in a relegation battle and one we are not currently winning. What we need right now is focus on that and a sense of realism.

Goalkeeping Crisis
Easy to say that with the benefit of hindsight. OFW had a very solid season last season, we only had the resources to keep one and, since there was nothing between them and there was a significant financial benefit in keeping Fon Williams that decision made sense. Nobody could foresee just how quickly and badly his form would drop this season.

Ominous February
Probably the best we can hope for is that the gap doesn't grow too much.
