  1. Having the ground as collateral, even if that were the case, would not open up any additional avenues for funding. Long gone are the days when Scottish football clubs could borrow commercially, whether they are offer security or not. No bad thing in my view, forcing clubs to live within their means which is something our board has proved adept at all our history with the exception of the grossly overspending regime under Doug McGillivray which brought us within days of administration or worse. Yes, it's imperative we do what we can to turn things around and remain in the Premiership but not at the expense of prejudicing the long term future of the club.
  2. How about, instead of deriding the league he played in, we give the boy a chance ?
  3. Can we please just stick to the topic. Any more personal insults or abuse and those responsible will be banned from posting on the thread.
  4. I agree that the media side can often appear amateurish and could maybe do with refreshing but the board has served us well and steered a steady course for very many seasons keeping us financially sound whilst punching above our weight on the pitch. Yes, this season has been disappointing to date but there is still time to turn things around and no club with our resources has a divine right to a permanent place in the top flight.
  5. In a word, no, not to much to ask. Eight points from these four league fixtures will see us clear of the relegation and play off places and put a different perspective on our season. With wither Hibs or Dundee United to face in the play off, it's almost as important to avoid eleventh place as it is twelfth. By the middle of February I believe our prospects of doing that will be looking much brighter.
  6. I agree with all you say apart from the last sentence. Yes, there is ample cause for concern but there is no need to panic and it's certainly not time to part with an inexperienced but hugely committed young manager less than half a season into his first job. It may, however, be time to bring in an experienced assistant to help. Someone of the ilk of Donald Park.
  7. The challenge now is to buck that trend. with the squad spirit we have I am absolutely convinced we can do it. It will help immensely if we as fans don't become too restless or unsupportive and continue to get behind the team. the performances of late have been encouraging we just need the goals to start flowing and a bit of confidence to return.
  8. Have we been 'a bit disrespectful' in not extending our 'Four for Forty' ticket offer to away fans ? If it's true that the offer extends to home fans only then I personally think that's a bit of a poor show especially for fans taking the trouble to travel at this time of year.
  9. Agree. Harmless mild banter. Any ICT fan offended is in serious need of a sense of humour and a sense of perspective.
  10. The perennial problem since Billy McKay left. We are lacking someone who is a consistent and reliable goal threat up front....Santa, if you're listening....
  11. I would settle for the ball crossing the goal line..
  12. Lighten up. There's nothing wrong with a bit of gallows humour to help though challenging times.
  13. A comeback for Bingham Legend with Little Drummer Boy.
  14. I suspect that he's just warming up.
  15. The January transfer window is almost upon us. What business would you like to see us do bearing in mind our limited resources? Despite our defences lapses, I actually think we have a decent bunch of defenders when fit and also options in midfield albeit with Tansey and Vigurs both struggling for form. I would rather see us strengthen up front. I see that Rory Loy has been told he can leave Dundee on a free. While he seems to have lost his way a bit at Dens, I think he is a decent forward who could do a job for us. Given the lack of game time he has had, I wonder if there is a possibility of getting Miles Storey on loan as well.
  16. With Bughtmaster insisting he's biased against the production.
  17. Is it just me or do both Vigurs and Tansey both seem to be lacking in desire and commitment for some reason at the moment ?
  18. If we are going down the bakery route, Kingsmills !
  19. To be fair, Tulloch's have had the benefit of 'naming rights' for the last decade or more. The club certainly owed them and David Sutherland a debt of gratitude at the time but that debt has been more than repaid in terms of publicity on a national basis week in and week out.
  20. Folk had different opinions of them, they no longer exist. Although, by coincidence, folk also have very different opinions of the new club which seems to have inherited Ibrox Stadium, an asset, which in my view, ought to have been liquidated to settle the claims of their very many unpaid creditors. However, I digress and agree that we need to be very careful as Elgin will indeed be up for this. As I recall, it took us until the last minute to get the better of you the only other time the teams met in the cup a few seasons back and we had the advantage of being at home then.
  21. Random question, does anyone know why 'Borough' is spelt the English way ?
  22. I am not fussed that it's away. Borough Briggs was one of my favourite trips in Highland League days. Very happy.
  23. I agree. As well as a world class athlete, possibly our only one, he is clearly a thoughtful and thoroughly decent young man who is sometimes unjustifiably treated by the press and media. A survivor of the Dunblane massacre and an example of the triumph of good over evil.
  24. Sadly, I can only add to the consensus. I think it is time for someone else to have an opportunity in the starting XI. Greg would still be a more than useful substitute.
  25. I agree. I should dough better...
