  1. Renegade is not the answer up front and Bughtmaster has been injured in a training ground incident with Barry Wilson. Subject to international clearance, I would bring in Gabby and Jock Watt with a view to playing them both up front in a 4-4-2
  2. Sorry, started this thread in a bit of a rush before I left this morning and neglected to add a poll to my poll so thank you for doing so. . I have not voted as I'm genuinely not sure but what I am sure of is that if we retain Richie we need to bring in someone with experience to assist him, whether that is in the form of a Director of Football or an experienced assistant and to do so without delay. Richie may be inexperienced and struggling but Brian Rice is being no help at all.
  3. Should be replace the manager or, having given him a four year contract, stick with him ?
  4. There is no point in hiding from interviews. He is not Mark Warburton and we are not The Rangers.
  5. These set of players have shown time and time again that they have bottle. Very sad to say, as he was a great club servant, that it increasingly looks like the problem lies elsewhere.
  6. Aye, he did a wonderful job with Hibs when they were in free fall.
  7. Assuming we replace the manager, who is available with the experience and ability to keep us up ? Personally, I would wait and see the result and performance on Saturday but if we don't win then, there's a big decision to be made. Brian Rice must accept a great deal of the responsibility. He is the experienced half of the partnership and seems to be doing nothing to assist.
  8. I will wait to hear what those at the game have to say but it sounds as though Richie has learned nothing from his mistakes. We know that the players are good enough. The squad is the core of the squad which has stayed in this league for years. The problem lies with the management. I, as have most of us, have been supportive of Richie to date but the situation has become dire and we may have to do something before it's too late. We have another vital game on Saturday. Fail to win at home against Dundee then, with great regret, the manager's position will have to be seriously considered.
  9. If you want to make a political point please post in the appropriate forum,....then again, we don't have a forum for bizarre and ridiculous conspiracy theories.
  10. Charlie or Ryan ?
  11. We're staying up...we're staying up.....
  12. Offloading would be dependent on finding clubs willing to take them or coming to an agreement to pay up all or part of their contracts.
  13. There could be any number of reasons why no business was done prior to the Partick game no fault of the club. With modern technology, there is no reason whatsoever why playing on deadline day will prevent us from bringing someone in.
  14. Now that would certainly lift the gloom.
  15. The BBC as a public sector broadcaster funded by a compulsory levy should be paying a much fairer price for Scottish football approaching a tenth of what they pay for the English league given that they derive approaching a tenth of their revenue from Scotland. That said, we are not the Rangers and will not be imposing any petty minded ban on journalists. I, for one, will not be signing your petition.
  16. If we don't eliminate that gap some time we will be going down. We have a decent record on artificial surfaces. Without throwing caution to the wind, we need to be going for the win.
  17. Hey, there are plenty of negative threads and posts just now. Can we maybe keep this one for positive nostalgia
  18. It's good to be ambitious but there is no point in aiming for or talking about top six any more. That ship has sailed for this season. The battle is to avoid relegation and I still believe that's a battle we can win but we have to start turning things around now. This coming week is crucial. I think we need a minimum of 4 points from these two games. We may not be risking vertigo but the league will look a lot better from the 'height' of tenth place.
  19. I think it's actually a four year contract. It was a poor performance and that was a worrying post match interview but, as I said earlier in the thread, I think it was a decent point and we still have an opportunity to get off the bottom on Tuesday. I think that Foran still has a very great deal to learn but still has the potential to be a good manager for us. Don't forget that he had us playing successful and entertaining football in the League Cup group stage albeit against lower league opponents and was Manager of the Month after a successful league spell in September although that does seem a very long time ago now. Where I think we did cut corners, probably for financial reasons, is in appointing Brian Rice as assistant manager. An inexperienced manager needs a wiley and experienced number two. I didn't think that Rice was a good appointment when he first came, I didn't think it was a good idea to retain him when Yogi left and I'm even less convinced that he is the right man for the job now.
  20. To inject a positive note, I think Richie was wrong to label this match 'must win'. A point against an in form Partick side who have been a bit of a bogey team for us even when we have been on good form in recent seasons is not a bad result especially bearing in mind the rare clean sheet. An opportunity to lift ourselves of the bottom on Tuesday will hopefully lift a bit of the spectator gloom as well.
  21. I doubt that the club had much, if any influence on the kick off time so offering Inverness fans the opportunity to watch in the company of fellow fans with refreshments for such a modest price is a good and sensible initiative. Well done. Hope there is a good turn out at the stadium and remember none of the proceeds have to be split with anyone whereas the club will get only about 40% of the match proceeds once expenses are deducted.
  22. If so, then it's little surprise to see the SFA and TV companies having their usual regard to the interests of traveling fans.
  23. You forget, we now have Nando's !
  24. The improvement continues. If the development squad can drag themselves off the bottom then so can the first team.
  25. Encouraging that we are at least trying to sign a forward of Murray's potential.
