  1. I agree. Raith dropping points at Cappielow is a potential bonus but only if we can capitalise on their slip by taking maximum points tomorrow and next week.
  2. Well done both to the boys but to the band of supporters who turned up to back them.
  3. I think Austin Samuels could be a decent addition. Although he didn't score, my Aberdeen supporting friends were quite impressed with him during his brief loan spell at Pittodrie. Could offer something a bit different and a bit more energy up front.
  4. The whole of Scottish football thought we would be whipping boys the first time we were promoted to the top tier yet, apart from a one season blip, we remained there for a decade including regular top six finishes, cup finals and the premier knock out trophy in the land all on poor crowds but prudent management. There is no reason why that can't happen again but the priority this season has to get there which is the frustratingly worrying aspect to our lack of business this month.
  5. You beat me to it. We could do with a speedy left sided features editor.
  6. I can't help contrast our activity this month with that of Kilmarnock. They have replaced their faltering manager with someone who will be, by a margin, the highest paid in the division, brought in Ash Taylor, Kyle Lafferty and Daniel McKay on loan. By contrast, we have brought in a few on loan that, I for one, had never previously heard of. Killie have, for better or worse, bet the farm on going straight back up whereas it looks like we are maybe hoping to pip Raith or Partick to the last play off place That said, surely we now have a great incentive to beat them for the third consecutive time on Saturday.
  7. Not sure whether to be overwhelmed by the fact that he has been, not so very long ago, been on the books of both Manchester City and Liverpool or completely underwhelmed by the fact that, according to Wikipedia, he is a forward to has never scored a senior goal.
  8. Could be the core of the side that gives us our second Scottish Cup triumph a decade after the first.
  9. Could it simply be that Billy Dodds, despite being given his own first team debut by Chelsea at the age of 17, is just not willing to show faith in younger players?
  10. I used to have a bit of a soft spot for Clyde until they signed someone judicially determined to be a rapist and then went on to make him club captain.
  11. I really couldn't see the point in taking such a promising and talented young player and then using him so sparingly, especially when others were struggling for form or fitness.
  12. Definately weakens the squad but I suppose that is St Mirren's prerogative.
  13. Hoping for a performance to match the second half of our last home game against Partick. Definitely not a repeat of the first half.
  14. Which is a pity because, before that negative attitude permeated down to the dressing room, the players clearly did as did most of the fans. Such negativity can be so damaging and it must be particularly soul destroying for our talented young players just not getting an opportunity.
  15. I am willing to bet that, with 20 minutes to go, almost none amongst us was in any way confident that we would hang onto the points. That in itself speaks volumes about where we are just now.
  16. Our best chance of promotion since we were relegated and week after week we continue to blow it. So frustrating. Looking we will be playing Rangers in the league next season and Cove doesn't even have a decent chipper.
  17. To those who have suggested that those of us who have been critical of players and management in recent weeks are too negative, is it being to negative being boiling mad at throwing away a hard earned lead against the worst team in the division yet again ! Or, would you prefer that we were out of the play off places as well as the automatic spot before venting our frustration and disappointment because, at this rate, that is the direction we are heading in.
  18. ..and is nobody entitled to disagree with you ?
  19. Not at all the religious type so I will be praying for neither but will be hoping that you fully recover with no serious ill effects and if we can get three points to cheer you up and ease your isolation that would be a very welcome bonus.
  20. How about giving them a chance before condemning them out of hand.
  21. Logan Chalmers made his first team debut for Dundee United at 17 and was thought then to have huge potential but seems to have faded since and, for a forward player, has a poor scoring record. Hopefully, we will grab his time in the Highlands as an opportunity to revive his fortunes.
  22. Kingsmills replied to tm4tj's topic in Caley Thistle
Time enough to think about a squad fit to compete in next season's Premiership if and when that becomes a live issue. Right now we need to focus on having the players to compete over the next four months to give us the best possible chance of getting there and we are probably still two short.
  23. Kingsmills replied to tm4tj's topic in Caley Thistle
Looks like a promising young player with something to prove. Hopefully, one or two more to follow.
  24. One reason we are not now top of the league is throwing away the lead against a poor Dunfermline team when we last played them in Inverness to, in the end, come away with nothing. We need to remedy that tomorrow. We are better than the Pars, the league table demonstrates that, it's essential that we prove that on the pitch and keep our promotion push firmly on track. Nothing less than 3 points will do.
