  1. The only positive to take from today is that somehow we managed to lose no ground to anyone else in the top four. However, what a wasted opportunity to seize the practical and psychological advanage we could have had by going back top of the league if we could only hold onto the lead, not once but twice, against a poor Ayr side. We were fortunate with other results this week but that will not always be the case and if we are going to remain competitive we will have to be very much better
  2. Still a rumour but, given how important he was to us last season and during our winning run at the start of this, it would, without revealing any personal details, to have some information from the club before too much longer.
  3. £6 a point would strike me as good value.
  4. I imagine that if it wasn't bringing in at least some nett additional income then clubs would have stopped it by now. Seens to me that if it brings in more income to the club and permits fans who for various reasons, including failing health, to 'attend' matches both home and away there is great merit on making it a permanent feature. Maybe we should consider a PPV only season ticket for our home matches next season and beyond.
  5. To all those making the long trip to Ayr, have a grear day at the seaside. Can you please bring me back some shells from the beach, a stick of rock and three points.
  6. Sheer exploitation. I will watch as I am in a position to afford to without giving it much thought. Others are not so fortunate. A poor show from the 'Honest Men'.
  7. Simple run chase duly completed. I would not be quite so hard on our players as you given that they were up against an Indian team packed with superstars. I would also dispute that New Zealand were in third gear given that it was a must win game for them in their quest to qualify for the semi finals.
  8. HT, Ayr 0, ICT 1 FT; Ayr 0, ICT 1 ICT; Gardyne Ayr; Adeloye Crowd; 1,736
  9. Might have been useful for the site to have clearly and prominently stated that in the first place.
  10. After a crushing and humiliating defeat by a team even lower than we are in the world rankings, Scotland restore pride by being very competitive both with bat and ball in defeat to a New Zealand team who remain one of the favourites for the tournament.

Well done. Seven seems to be their lucky number. Usually takes the men's team seven games to score seven goals.
  12. Surely Satan is in favour of all things Halloween related...
  13. Since this thread has gone completely off topic, isn't it odd that no community in Scotland with official city status has a senior football club named City but we have two senior clubs called City based in towns that are not officially cities.
  14. Panama cannabis FC ?
  15. If they have I would be intrigued to know how a football club came to be named after a stone in the river which generations of washer women had used to beat the clothes dry.
  16. At risk of developing into 'Old Inverness' but I used to love being taken to Melven's as a child. Even more so if the trip into town also involved a bottle of Coke in the Locarno Cafe and maybe even a visit to the toy shop in the Market.
  17. You are absolutely right. These senior moments are getting increasingly frequent
  18. The best book written so far about Highland football has to ve Alex Main's 'In A Different League' Sadly, it has veen out of print for very many years now.
  19. Wait for volume two.
  20. In all fairness, nobody is 'flogging' the book on this site. A regular poster posted a link which is perfectly legitimate given Robbo's long standing connection to the club.
  21. To all the spooks and ghouls out there and, for all of you with young children or grandchildren, I hope that you will encourage them to go out for the ancient Scottish tradition of 'guising' rather than any pale, over commercialised, modern imitation from the US. That said, I will reluctantly concede that is easier to carve out a pumpkin rather than bending spoons more effectively than Uri Geller trying to hollow out a half frozen neep!
  22. I am not sure that I entirely agree. The service hasn't always been the best but the forwards have had decent opportunities in most games, concluding today's, but have failed to convert them. They need to be sharper.
  23. We were unlucky today but In fairness, you only deseve a goal if you can find a a way for the ball to cross the white liine between the posts and below the bar. Something we have failed to do nearly often enough this season and not at all in the last almost 200 minutes of playing time.
  24. I largely agree but am still hopeful that we might be looking at title rivalry rather than play off rivals
  25. Very possible but not inevitable if we can sort out our inability to score. Their visit to the Longman in early December could be pivotal if we can stay in touching distance up until then.
