  1. Gardyne is indeed a loss and we need to find a replacement during the January window. However, I do think that we would also benefit from some cover in defence for the run in. The only game in town now is the league and we need to be in the strongest position to gain promotion, hopefully automatically but at the very minimum though the play offs.
  2. I can't bring myself to get too upset about that as long as it purges our recent inability to beat Morton in time for the weekend.
  3. You perhaps misunderstand. The magnifying device is to assist in locating his moral compass.
  4. The page featuring Michael Gardyne has a helpful free magnifying glass sellotaped to it.

  6. On the kids or the players?
  7. A good friend to my malt whisky loving late father who, in turn, became one of his most regular customers. Condolences to all those who knew and loved him.
  8. Any one of the top five, even part time Arbroath, could achieve automatic promotion although I think in the shake up it might come down to Kilmarnock, Raith and ourselves and, on our day, we have as much chance as anyone. I won't be settling for a play off place just yet, especially if we can scrape together the resources to bring in a couple in the January window. Billy Dodds has demonstrated that he probably has a better eye for a player than Robbo did. Given where we are now, the target has to be automatic promotion with a play off place being the very minimum consolation prize.
  9. Old habits die hard. I imagine that Dave Milroy was exhausted after carrying Billy Urquhart around in his pocket all evening.
  10. Off topic but, if you think we have had it tough in the years since our Scottish Cup triumph, spare a thought for our cup final opponents. Relegated to League 1 despite having considerably greater resources and a significantly larger fan bsse than us and today thumped 6-0 by Queens Park leaving them languishing in the middle of the division made up almost entirely by part time teams. Whenever you are feeling a little down always remember that things could be worse, you could support The Bairns! Worse still, you could be Paul Sheerin.
  11. If Morton wish to stick with msnagerial dinosaurs after parting with Gus Macpherson, I'm sure someone must have Jimmy Calderwood's mobile number.
  12. Two wins would be great but the important one is the league fixture on Saturday with a win in the cup being a less vital but welcome bonus.
  13. The only team in the top five to take maximum points. A perfect weekend. Still top of the league.
  14. When he stated that the crowd looked good, he wasn't commenting on it's size but noting how attractive we all are.
  15. I fancy a trip to the Angus seaside. Nip into Spink's for a couple of smokies, a pint and a bite to eat at Tuttie's Neuk abd then over the road to Gayfield to cheer on the home team. Do you think Robbo would lend ne a maroon scarff ?
  16. ...and some cover in defence I hope as we enter the season of injury and suspension.
  17. Our inability to convert chances may yet rear up to thwart our promotion dreams. With, not one but two, experienced former international forwards on the payroll both with UEFA accredited coaching badges, it is disappointing that we are not just that little bit more sharp in front of goal. However, one was enough this evening and I am happy to celebrate that.
  18. Thank goodness the manager and team were a bit more ambitious.
  19. We're top of the league and you're no ! Immensely pleasing and well deserved. If we remain unbeaten against Kilmarnock all season we won't be far away in the end when the honours are handed out. Both the result and the performance should be a boost to confidence and self belief which has been a bit lacking of late. Great backing from the fans too. Don't you just love Friday evening football!
  20. Nothing that is apart from the smiles wiped off their faces.
  21. The biggest and most important game of the season with an opportunity to go back to the top of the table and put a great deal more pressure on both Raith and Partick for tomorrow. Kilmarnock, with their superior resources, are quite rightly, favourites for the title but have shown themselves to be far from invincible this season. We are entirely capable of winning this match but we need to be at our best for the full 90 minutes which we have often struggled to do this season. The fact that the game is on TV will unfortunately affect the crowd but if you are able to do so get to the Longman as that 12th man could make all the difference in what could be a season defining game.

  23. No other real candidate last month but the fact that Billy has rediscovered his scoring boots has kept our promotion campaign alive during what has been an otherwise disappointing month. Let's hooe he can bag another brace this evening.
