  1. Quite the reverse. I think the second paragraph of my post makes that clear.
  2. Although, we are far from the only club struggling to maintain full time football on a shoe string budget out with the Premiership. I have been as critical of the boardroom as most but they do deserve some credit for getting us through the crisis of Covid (hopefully) and still being able to provide the manager and coaches with sufficient resources, albeit very limited, to be able to field a competitive team in a highly competitive division.
  3. Any chance of joining in remotely for those of us who don't live locally ?
  4. We lose 4-5 on penalties after a goalless 90 minutes. All will be forgiven if we can beat Kilmarnock on Friday.
  5. I very seldom find myself in agreement with Dougal, indeed, more often than not, I profoundly disagree with him. However, he never breaches site rules and is as entitled to his views, however negative they may be, as anyone.
  6. In that case, bad luck with their dissertation
  7. Can't find a bookies that will give me odds on the holders being knocked out.
  8. Personally, I would swap a victory against Kilmarnock on Friday for progress in the cup. However, a continued cup run, although not a priority, would be a welcome bonus.
  9. In fact, he was in Hamilton when he struck the ball.
  10. I agree. I am generally a fan of this competition affording as it does the only realistic opportunity for the majority of SPFL clubs to win a national knock out tournament and I have thoroughly enjoyed the days out afforded by our ventures into the final over the years. However, with a truly massive league game and a cup replay coming up, we can't afford to hive tonight's match any sort of priority. Raith may very well feel the same way which ironically might lead to an entertaining and competitive game of football.
  11. The under reporting of crowds by the home team when gate receipts are shared has been an issue since the advent of the professional game. It was more of an issue when the takings from league matches were shared in the same way that cup tie receipts are now. Celtic, in the biscuit tin era, were particularly serious offenders often under reporting crowds by 10,000 or more.
  12. Done. Good luck with your dissertation.
  13. Although not quite as guilty as our neighbours in Dingwall who employ the simple formula of counting everyone though the turnstiles for a lesgue match twice but only every alternative person entering the ground for cup fixtures.
  14. The winner of our replay against Morton drawn away against Motherwell. Not the best draw for whichever side progresses.
  15. Whilst there is an ongoing issue with the club engaging with fans, I don't think that had much to do with the sparse attendance on Saturday. More to do with the weather, fixture fatigue and the game and playing familiar opponents.
  16. You are right. Even if the rumours true, the incident was not connected to his employment with the club or the workplace so the club would have no grounds to terminate his contract under employment law. If Gardyne has indeed left it must have been by mutual consent and possibly on the basis of paying up at least part of his contract.
  17. Power and the ability to communicate with the outside world finally resored to Chez Kingsmills after what seems like a, bitterly cold, eternity. What's being going on? Is there still a suggestion that Sergei Baltcacha is about to be replaced by young Steve Paterson?
  18. Been widely circulating for a while now. It will be a shame to lose Gardyne who added experience, skill and guile up front but it would have been a greater shame had Dave Carson sought to terminate his contract which had also been widely rumoured and dressing room harmony will will be maintained.
  19. A tough tie and Ukraine will, quite rightly, be favourites but that may well suit us,especially in front of a full house at Hampden.
  20. It is never right to punish the many for the actions of the few. Competent and proportionate stewarding could have and should have nipped any such problems in the bud.
  21. HT; ICT 1, Morton 0 FT; ICT 2 Morton 1 ICT; Sutherland Morton; Oliver Crowd; 1,138
  22. I hope that the club are taking note of the enthusiasm for this, even among us old sweetie rustlers, with so far not a dissenting voice. Over zelous stewarding has been a persistent problem ever since the North Stand was built so an opportunity to address this long standing issue and kill two birds with one stone with the advantage of improving the atmosphere and increasing attendances at the same time.
  23. As long as the young crew are not left marrooned on that 'stepping stone' They are the future of the club unlike the likes of me who sits quietly in the Main Stand occasionally clapping, even less often shouting and constantly moaning albeit generally about the catering rather than the team. A step in the right direction but a very modest one indeed.
