Fully agree, in the days of Steve Paterson most transfer negotiations were conducted discretely in private. It would be so much better if that was still the case.

Barrowman certainly has potential but is an unknown quantity at SPL level. Dennis Wyness was even more prolific in the lower leagues but didn't have the beating of SPL defenders on a consistant basis.

I too think that it will be Spartans despite the fact that Meadowbank Thistle were testimony to the appetite, or lack of it, for a third senior team in the capital.

If the club go about it's business correctly then Don Cowie will be contracted to ICT for another three seasons come the end of summer. Then, if Hibs, or indeed anyone else, want him they will have to pay a vry substantial fee well in excess of what Rankin went for.

I'm sure many of the potential candidates have prepared for some time. It's the state of preparation of the SFL to analyse and judge the bids competently in such a short timescale that concerns me.

I agree with all that's been said. Bobby was vey shabbily treated by Ross County when they dismissed him given what he'd achieved for them in the past on extremely limited resourses.

Makes a change for the club to be proactive on these matters rather than risking leaving it too late.

They seem to be the only Highland League team keen to gain entry this time. The Elgin City exoerience has deterred a lot of others.
