That is a very serious allegation to make against anyone without concrete proof ! More seriously, whilst not an absolute prerequisite, I do think that, where possible, employees of the club or the social club ought ideally to be fans.
  2. Please cut out the personal abuse. Any more and action will be taken. It's possible to disagree with someone without abusing them so kindly do so.
  3. The increase is entirely due to the two home derby matches. Strip that out and average is actually slightly down on the season before.
  4. The bit in the middle could probably do with a bit of attention too.
  5. Hopefully, by then, we will be back in the Premiership and playing once more in the Development League.
  6. Almost came to pass but the talks broke down at the end as they could not agree whether the mascot should be a male red deer or a mythical monster.
  7. Is he a Bolivian midfielder ?
  8. Donaldson has been linked with County for months by many people. Frankly, I don't care how many people link him with County as long as he doesn't actually leave and go there.
  9. What he says.
  10. I wonder whether the pitch relaying might be an opportunity to strip out the USH since it is no longer a requirement. We had a wonderful playing surface prior to fitting it and, largely due to our seafront location, only had one game postponed due to a frozen surface. Since it was fitted and destroyed the drainage we have had a poorer and poorer playing surface despite Tommy's valiant efforts and have had umpteen mstches called off due to waterlogging.
  11. Glad to hear that the Trawler is still going. Not been for years but I remember it for one of the finest fish suppers to be had in the Highlands.
  12. I agree. Whilst I can understand the frustration of the diaspora not having a vote on the future of what they still regard as their country, I do think that the right thing is to give that right to all those who have honoured us by making Scotland their country of domicile whatever their place of origin. As SC says, to try to enfrachise those born in Scotland where ever they now live in the world would be an utterly impractical.
  13. Good call. I am not surprised by the decision of the Highland League. Although it may have suited us, to have a Colts team from a higher tier would have compromised the integrity of their competition just in the same way as having Old Firm Colts teams in League 1 or 2 would compromise the integrity of the SPFL. Playing the idle Highland League team on an informal basis worked for us before and there's no reason why it couldn't work now.
  14. Entirely agree. It will be a tough league next season and to have any chance of winning it we need to get off to a consistently good start. We have finished very well in the last two seasons but that has not been enough and won't be again next season.
  15. With regard to your last paragraph, even though that might indeed be a boost to the independence cause, the English, Welsh and Northern Irish are our friends and closest neighbours and I would like to see them avoid that calamity. However, I genuinely fear that's where things are now inevitably heading. As far as the voting intention of non native born voters is concerned, first time around, the vast majority of of EU nationals living and voting in Scotland voted no for fear of Scotland not being admitted to the EU and losing their reciprocal rights. I suspect that their attitude will be very different next time around.
  16. You better lie down for a while to get over that !
  17. Nobody disagrees that we need to improve the squad. It was the rest of your post that exception was taken to. Three red dots now.
  18. The sort of complacency that the manager and the players certainly won't share. Nor will most sensible and realistic fans.
  19. Tough group with no easy games but no reason why we can't progress.
  20. I think he has tested their patience by effectively downing tools after losing out on the opportunity to play full time football again. That said, they paid a fee for him and would want to recover at least that fee. Are we in a position right now to pay a fee for anyone ?

Which is precisely why I have asked people to be cautious about what they post. Thus far, we have only heard one side of the story.
  22. It's the third most important tournament in the country and very worth doing well in for all sorts of reasons not least early season momentum and confidence building. I didn't regard it as a Mickey Mouse competition when I was sitting at Parkhead with my head in my hands after losing out on penalties to Aberdeen and I don't regard it as a Mickey Mouse competition now.
  23. Like it or not, the EU Parliamentary elections were effectively a proxy second referendum. Interesting to note that, in Scotland, the unambiguously remain parties outpolled the unambiguously leave parties by more than two to one. In England, on the same basis, the ratio was 54/46 and the picture very similar in Wales. No wonder the nutters are running scared of a confirmatory vote. Since when did proposing a mass exercise in democracy become an affront to democracy?

I was referring to both the "without reason" comment and the second part of the OP regarding the future, or otherwise, of the club which, for now at least, is merely rumour. Accordingly, the thread, for now at least, remains where it is.

Anyway, our proper social club in Baron Taylor Street was sadly closed years ago.
