  1. A most appropriate topic for a Sunday post.
  2. Aiden Nesbit was a very promising youth player who is still young but has lost his way a bit in recent seasons. Very like Paul Sheerin when we first signed him. Well worth a punt if he is willing to commit to at least a two year contract on reasonable terms.
  3. Both OFW and ICT are now out of this mess. Best all round for both parties.
  4. One of the finest directors our club has ever been privileged to have and, although I didn't know him, I know those who did, and have never heard a bad or negative word said about him. Sincere condolences to his family and friends. Another member of the ICT family gone too soon.
  5. Bluddy predictive text ?
  6. A game at Tynecastle on 8th July against Hearts as a testimonial for Angus Broth. Let's hope he gets a decent turn out to provide him with a reasonable nest egg as he embarks on life away from football.
  7. There is merit in taking risks in any walk of life. Our big mistake was taking too many risks and making too many unrealistic assumptions in a very short period of time. After winning the Scottish Cup we should have been looking to consolidate rather than spending beyond our means in an attempt to reach even greater heights.
  8. Then, the new squad will just have to write their own chapter in our ever evolving story and create their own bit of history.
  9. Maybe the undisclosed fee will run to the paint for the white lines once the pitch has been re layed.
  10. Impressive number of metaphors in such a brief post.
  11. We have been fortunate, over the years to have had some excellent 'keepers including Jimmy Calder, Mark Brown, Dean Brill, OFW and Mark Ridgers. Even better, as DD points out above, we have three more home grown players with real potential to carry on that fine tradition once Mark Ridgers either moves on or hangs up the gloves. Credit also due to Ryan Esson both for what he's done on the pitch, including playing a very full part in our Scottish Cup triumph but, more particularly in recent years for his experience and skill in coaching and developing our other 'keepers.
  12. Off topic I know but, while I appreciate the connections particularly with St Valery, I've often wondered why Inverness is twinned with one city so much bigger and one village so much smaller but with no town or city of broadly similar size.
  13. Very well said. All these players were offered contracts far more lucrative than we can afford now. Nevertheless, they were not earning fortunes and what they were offered appeared value for money at the time and all served the club well.
  14. Nice thought. More likely though to be a match against St Valery en Caux.
  15. He is but we have one equally good goalkeeper staying and a couple of promising youngsters. Hopefully, at least some of the money freed up can be invested where it's needed more.
  16. A brief survey of Welsh international players to have played for ICT has led me to the conclusion that all Welshmen are called Owen or or a variation thereof.
  17. The issues over the last two years were not his fault. Why would he walk away from such a lucrative contract he had been freely offered ? However, his departure has freed up a huge wage which I hope that at least part of can be used to recruit a couple of new players. Better for both parties that he now goes.
  18. Once more, away from home in what could turn out to be the decisive final group match.
  19. With the help of funding from the EU.
  20. Nobody is forcing anyone to do anything. The operative word is "volunteers". Every pound we save on improving the playing surface is a pound available to spend on what will be playing on it. Bumped and pinned.
  21. Not unless he finds that magic hat. Gone from multi storey to single storey.
  22. ..and were once known locally as North and South Vietnam.
  23. Whatever the way to attract more fans is it certainly isn't by insulting many of those who do attend faithfully.
  24. Miles Storey had one good season and has been distinctly mediocre since. If we have money to bolster the squad, I would not be inclined to risk any on him returning.
  25. Why on earth would you support one of the Old Firm living in Inverness ? In fact, why on earth would you support them full stop?
