  1. I enjoyed myself. But it probably had something to do with all the pre-wedding drink I had consumed before the game (wedding was in morning, then reception in the evening, so managed to go to the match with a Dons fan). Absolutely flabbergasted like most others with the Proctor decision. I can see the point in it, but agree with the suggestion Proctor would've been a good replacement for Rossco, leaving Cowie on the pitch. There was some decent passing play though and it wasn't a terrible performance i suppose. Big 2 games coming up :symbol_exclaim01:
  2. This has been on my mind over the last few days following the Aberdeen game... Where I was sat (near the back), there were a few guys, who from what I can guess were fans who lived in Aberdeen (based on their knowledge of Aberdeen & their novelty at being at a game). They spent the whole game slagging off our players when it wasn't needed at all i.e. a cross the pitch pass to Rossco in space, was met with "Noooo... you're $%?&!! Pass it forward you $??$%!!", despite the pass leading to a chance. Then when it got to 2-0, they started on "We're $%?& and we know we are" etc. Note: this was quite close to the "singing section", so many in the crowd probably couldn't hear it. Further note: No-one else but these 2-3 took on that song. Had a word with the guy (roughly same age as me), saying his chat is rubbish and if he didn't have anything positive to sing, then shut it. Met with blank stare. ****************Here's the important bit******************* During the second half, this guy made 3 racist shouts towards the boy Aluko for merely tearing one of our players a new arse. At this point I called him a pr*ck; this time met with a shrug of the shoulders. I then muttered something about he should maybe start supporting the old firm as they'll cater to his hobbies a bit more... I recognise the guy, and i'm not sure how. He's either someone who's lived in Aberdeen for the last few years and i've just seen him out, or I know him from growing up in Elgin. Either way he is a total embarrassment as a "fan", and a human being. I just hope I don't bump into him on a night out :008: Should I have reported him to the nearest steward? I feel I had a responsibility as a "respected" :015: member of the public, to shop him; but felt a bit weird about approaching a steward to say "Excuse me, but he said something racist". Can stewards do anything about it, if they didn't see or hear anything? Wish i'd just moved seat now. Or stayed at home :023:
  3. If this was another team i was commenting on e.g. Hibs/Aberdeen, my usual chat would be to suggest a traffic phone for keeper as it'll do a better job.... ... But i fully support Fraser. He was immense for us when Mark Brown left, with only a handful of first team appearances to speak of. Has he even played 50 games yet?? Still a youngster in goalkeeping terms. Everyone makes mistakes, and yes even twice in the space of 2 weeks. But mistakes are only mistakes if you don't learn from them; to which i'd expect Mike to take fewer risks against teams in future.
  4. After wednesday night, i've tried not to think about what team could/should be put out. I'll just turn up at Ibrox, wait for the tannoy announcement (probably sigh...), then cheer on the team. First time to Ibrox, and i've got a Dons fan with a soft spot for ICT coming with me. Altogether now... "Nacho Novo....f..."
  5. And i've got a disclosure check coming up as well; that could be a problem :004: I think the casual jeans and trainers will be the order of the day for me. Don't want to make it look like i'm trying too hard!!
  6. ****. I was hoping it would be a 6 year old kid, or David Blunkett. I take it we'll probably meet each other in the Cabin before the game, so I look forward to that. Might Email the BBC or Setanta, to see if they can leave the camera's pointed at the goals with the film running, so that we can have a copy of our glory :024:
  7. ?? I'm a secondary school teacher. Working at the moment, but as the students are doing work on computers, i'm checking various websites for insider info on tonights game. Pile of marking sitting on the corner of my desk.... perhaps i'll get them to mark eachothers: encouraging peer assessment and all that ;)
  8. Quite happy with the team if thats it. Rather Blackie in for McBain (who i'm guessing is in the middle) if he's fit. Bayne will give problems to the Dons defence in the air, but i'm worries he won't be able to be the same kind of provider that wyness needs. Maybe give him 60mins and if its not working, chuck Niculae on. Need to focus on teaching rather than checking for any scrap of information on the game :029:
  9. Just had a thought. At no time has any report said that Blackie is out of this game. I've read almost every online preview on the game, and he's listed in the squad. It only seems to be McGuire who is struggling, along with our long term absentees. He's likely to be rested, but a good option from the bench none the less :022:
  10. Ever since we've been in the SPL, I've thought.... "This is it!! We'll break our duck this time". Told every single Dons fan I know (quite a few considering I live and work in Aberdeen) that ICT will gub them this time. Aberdeen always seem to be in some kind of "injury crisis", so my confidence soars. Then a drab game, where we are slightly on top and deserving of 3 points and end up with 1 or less. The 2 last minute goals really depressed me last season :019:
  11. Brilliant, thanks! Its a nice day in Aberdeen today, but by 10.30pm when we're slotting home the winning pen it'll be bloody freezing!!! Actually I hope it doesn't go to pens, as the Partick game is still fresh in the mind. Although, extra time would probably suffice as Aberdeen's half-fit players will have tired and fallen to bits by then. Hope Motherwell take Rangers to 120 minutes...
  12. What happens if its all square after 90mins tonight? Does it go to extra time or is there a replay? The Hibs Semi-Final game went to a replay last year I seem to remember, but I know there were changes to that format after such a low crowd turn out. But I can't remember if the change was that they were allowed to change the venue, or if the replay format was ditched. Anyone help?
  13. Us "Aberdonians" must stick together! :016: Competition was listed on the main site. I stumbled across it when i was getting the number to phone for tickets v. Rangers. E-mailed to answer a simple question; then got a phone call about a week later. I feel like a kid at christmas just now! Then the Scotland v. Italy game the following week; how will I cope!
  14. I just got a phone call from ICT saying i'll be one of the two contestants for the new Flybe sponsored halftime challenge. One of us will win 2 return flights to London or Belfast. Info on halftime challenge Make sure you keep an eye out on the 10th November!! I'll be the young looking handsome 24 year old :023:
  15. You can get odds of 4-1 on an ICT win at the moment :024: Stuck a tenner down; ?50 back. I actually think it'll be a draw, with a replay in Inverness (broadcast live on bbc). I always feel confident of a win when we play Aberdeen, but I have a horrible feeling there will be a poor referee or jammy goal to Aberdeen which would scupper a deserved win for us.
  16. Foster and Clark are both struggling to make the game as well. No loss really. The boy Aluko looks pretty handy though on the left, and I fancy him to start there or up front with Miller.
  17. When i was a student i got in as a concession, which was in the 2005/2006 season. Don't know if that helps at all ? Don't ask don't get i suppose :021:
  18. Aye thats the one
  19. Far aboots in Woodside do ye bide? I live 0.3 miles from the Pitt ken? Tanfield Walk. Which is probably less than half a mile from Todders (which is NOT in Tillydrone, before you say anything! :023: )
  20. A short walk from my flat in Woodside. Shortest travelling distance I have for ICT games :021:
  21. Normally I'd agree with this but this season I don't actually. After yesterday I'm more convinced than ever that we're in no danger of going down - Gretna are miles below anyone else and it doesn't look like Mileson's going to bail them out this time - but equally I don't think we've got much chance of a top 6 finish. Utd finally look like they're going places and I can see Hibs, Aberdeen and Motherwell (!) being the others beneath the old firm this season. So, this is the season for concentrating on a trophy. Celtic and Rangers are looking a bit preoccupied by Europe and the closeness of their competition for the SPL and the CIS Cup is the least of their priorities. With the right attitude and our strongest and most settled team, we're capable of beating any of the other teams left in the competition. Those semis against Dundee and Dunfermline, frustrating and heartbreaking though they were, are still among my favourite memories as an ICT supporter. It's ages since I've felt a sense of occasion like that, and I want a bit more of it. Well said. Brewster will go for McBain and Duncan in the middle with Wilson on the left, Cowie on the right. I'd be absolutely amazed if he had any different line up. Would like to see John Rankin back for this one though...
  22. I think he'll go for the same team as today, with maybe Wilson coming in for Black, if he's injured. Perhaps he'll leave Niculae on the bench and go for Bayne up front?
  23. 2-0!! Don Cowie freekick. Think the keeper made a mistake :024:
  24. Gretna just had a defensive blunder, which needed a goal line clearance. Other than that the only thing of note is a Yantorno free quick that went close. Need another goal
  25. Yes!! Wyness pen. Tokely was fouled. :crazy07: :crazy07:
