  2. Everyone else in that thread then goes onto disagree with him, saying that we have to make the same journey back if we were to play Hibs at Easter road though. So not all Hibs fans are as insular as that one. To be fair, I haven't met a Hibs fan that I didn't get on with. Even during the Tartan Army March in Paris there were a few that we shared various alcoholic bevarages with, who had brilliant chat.

    Buses

This has been covered again and again, so I apologise for bringing it up. I did use the search function on the site, but could not find what I was looking for... My dad and about 15 work colleagues are going to the game on saturday (they tend to organise 2 or 3 trips to Caley games a year), and they were wondering what buses run from the city center to the ground. They used to get the Pheonix bar buses, until the bar stopped doing them. So what are the options now? Is there still buses going from the bus station? Many thanks in advance.
  4. Never really rated him, but good luck in whatever club/career follows :clapping03:
  5. I believe it's pretty much a done deal and Malky's on his way up. From what I've been told he did not have a formal contract at Chester. I was told by one of his family members that he was paid in cash, rather than into his bank account. So there could be some truth in this rumour...
  6. Idlewild and The Twilight Sad in Moshulu, Aberdeen, on Sat 29th Dec. Seen Idlewild about 15 times in the last 10 years or so, but really looking forward to the Twilight Sad again :021:
  7. They've just said on the radio that the line is broken, and they'll try to sort it asap. Quite glad of the break, grim stuff hearing us under the cosh and "standing firm".
  8. Add to the list of commentator ramblings... 7. Massive overuse of the word "Tidy" and "Firm".
  9. I was using the example that the Dons don't have "Shire" in their name, in no way was i suggesting that Aberdeenshire includes inverness! Suggest an alternative to ICT then...
  10. I bet Aberdeen"shire" football club would be raking in the money :020: :020: :020: :020: :020: :020: :020: :020: :020: :020: :020:
  11. Just read that the draw for the Scottish cup 4th round is live on Sky Tv in an hour (12.30pm.), if anyone is interested?
  12. Maybe he's not got the "work ethic" of Roy (Undroppable) McBain? 33 years old. One footed. Can't attack. No pace. Scores 1 maybe 2 goals a season at most. And he's a first choice player?
  13. Well to add some weight to the malky rumour... I worked with a relative of his, who mentioned there are some major dodgy dealings going on at chester. Various incidents involving gangsters and cash payments. Perhaps he'll use this opportunity to escape?
  14. What happened to your kilt at the Ukraine game..? :crazy05: I hadn't cleaned it since Paris, so it was long overdue a dry clean. Although, the Paris fountains gave it a wee wash :023:
  15. It wasn't one out of surprise, it was more to make it clear to anyone perusing this thread that there was a former player in the squad. I've a funny feeling that Wilkie was called up but Levein said it was too soon for him (as he stated in the papers a week or so ago), so Machine was called up instead. He'll never get anywhere near the full squad though... Surprised a few more of the national team's fringe 'A' players aren't there e.g. Maloney, Beattie, O'Conner, Murty.... Barry (1 cap) Robson, especially since he won't be playing any first team football for a while after his :33:

  17. Tickets arrived. Travel down organised. Kilt dry cleaned after the Ukraine game. Ready to go..... Shame there's still 8 days to go :( Its going to be a long week at work.
  18. Rain, poor visibility and wind. There's my excuse to save face from a poor performance tomorrow!!
  19. Slightly off topic, but I just read that Barry Robson is out of the next 3 SPL matches which means he will miss the game against us :021:
  20. I enjoyed myself. But it probably had something to do with all the pre-wedding drink I had consumed before the game (wedding was in morning, then reception in the evening, so managed to go to the match with a Dons fan). Absolutely flabbergasted like most others with the Proctor decision. I can see the point in it, but agree with the suggestion Proctor would've been a good replacement for Rossco, leaving Cowie on the pitch. There was some decent passing play though and it wasn't a terrible performance i suppose. Big 2 games coming up :symbol_exclaim01:
  21. This has been on my mind over the last few days following the Aberdeen game... Where I was sat (near the back), there were a few guys, who from what I can guess were fans who lived in Aberdeen (based on their knowledge of Aberdeen & their novelty at being at a game). They spent the whole game slagging off our players when it wasn't needed at all i.e. a cross the pitch pass to Rossco in space, was met with "Noooo... you're $%?&!! Pass it forward you $??$%!!", despite the pass leading to a chance. Then when it got to 2-0, they started on "We're $%?& and we know we are" etc. Note: this was quite close to the "singing section", so many in the crowd probably couldn't hear it. Further note: No-one else but these 2-3 took on that song. Had a word with the guy (roughly same age as me), saying his chat is rubbish and if he didn't have anything positive to sing, then shut it. Met with blank stare. ****************Here's the important bit******************* During the second half, this guy made 3 racist shouts towards the boy Aluko for merely tearing one of our players a new arse. At this point I called him a pr*ck; this time met with a shrug of the shoulders. I then muttered something about he should maybe start supporting the old firm as they'll cater to his hobbies a bit more... I recognise the guy, and i'm not sure how. He's either someone who's lived in Aberdeen for the last few years and i've just seen him out, or I know him from growing up in Elgin. Either way he is a total embarrassment as a "fan", and a human being. I just hope I don't bump into him on a night out :008: Should I have reported him to the nearest steward? I feel I had a responsibility as a "respected" :015: member of the public, to shop him; but felt a bit weird about approaching a steward to say "Excuse me, but he said something racist". Can stewards do anything about it, if they didn't see or hear anything? Wish i'd just moved seat now. Or stayed at home :023:
  22. If this was another team i was commenting on e.g. Hibs/Aberdeen, my usual chat would be to suggest a traffic phone for keeper as it'll do a better job.... ... But i fully support Fraser. He was immense for us when Mark Brown left, with only a handful of first team appearances to speak of. Has he even played 50 games yet?? Still a youngster in goalkeeping terms. Everyone makes mistakes, and yes even twice in the space of 2 weeks. But mistakes are only mistakes if you don't learn from them; to which i'd expect Mike to take fewer risks against teams in future.
  23. After wednesday night, i've tried not to think about what team could/should be put out. I'll just turn up at Ibrox, wait for the tannoy announcement (probably sigh...), then cheer on the team. First time to Ibrox, and i've got a Dons fan with a soft spot for ICT coming with me. Altogether now... "Nacho Novo....f..."
  24. And i've got a disclosure check coming up as well; that could be a problem :004: I think the casual jeans and trainers will be the order of the day for me. Don't want to make it look like i'm trying too hard!!
  25. ****. I was hoping it would be a 6 year old kid, or David Blunkett. I take it we'll probably meet each other in the Cabin before the game, so I look forward to that. Might Email the BBC or Setanta, to see if they can leave the camera's pointed at the goals with the film running, so that we can have a copy of our glory :024:
