  1. I'd love to see him play at Keith, as that'll be the last pre-season game i'll make :029: Hope he gets his fitness up to scratch in superquick time
  2. Just saw the North Tonight report, quite glad that Niculae speaks English as it will make his integration and communication in the team a lot easier. In patchy English he basically said he wants to help ICT get into the top 6 this season and is not here for the money :tic01:
  3. He's also a midfielder apparently
  4. Its a bit of a worry that his name rhymes with 'Pie'
  5. I'll be in Aberdeen to see the midnight showing of Transformers, so think i'll get up and head through to Keith before going back to Elgin straight after the game.
  6. I've read a lot of reports about how he's an attacker who can also play in midfield. Does anyone know where in midfield he plays?? Would like to see him playing in an attacking center midfield role if possible, to bulk up our presence in the middle of the park. He'll be able to get onto the ball a lot more, as well as making late runs into the box to tuck away a fair amount of goals. That way we could keep a striking partnership of MacDonald and Bayne, who i would like to think will work well together. Opinions??
  7. I think the P&J said that the ex-man utd player Marsh coud be playing tonight, and he's a right back so perhaps him ahead of Tokely??
  8. Ian Black was spotted enjoying an Elgin City pie as well :clapping03: Good to see him making the journey whilst injured.
  9. Thats pretty much spot on from the City fan for the goals. Wasn't a great game. We were awful in the first half, better in the second. One thing i was pleased with was the communication between our players; lots of shouting between defenders and mike fraser to tell eachother where the opposition are, who to play it to etc. Team was -----------------------------Fraser------------------------------ Tokely-----------Caff------------------Munro-------------Hastings Wislon----------Hart-------------------McBain-----------Rankin -----------------Wyness---------------Bayne-------------------- With subs of Zander Sutherland, Garry Wood, Guy Kerr and No.16 (whoever that was!!!) at varying times in the last 20mins
  10. Put in my bid this morning, and they'll get back to me tomorrow by 5pm to say if its been accepted. Its a flat in Woodside, which is perfect as i'll be working 2 and 1/2 days at Bridge of Don Academy and 2 and 1/2 days at St Machar Academy after the summer hols :clapping03: Sun has been out for the last hour or so in Elgin. Prob still need to take a jacket, but quite nice weather at the moment. Hasn't rained once today either.
  11. I'm currently in the process of phoning around mates to see if any of them have old Romanian strips/flags (from World Cup games v. England) to welcome him if he's at the Elgin City game tonight :crazy07:
  12. Since that means we have the following strikers available... Marius Niculae Dennis Wyness Graham Bayne Rory McAllister Dean McDonald Surely it would make some sense to send Rory out on loan for 6months to get some experience/confidence?? We could have even more strikers if CC signs up one of these trialists...
  13. Beat me to it!! Also on Teamtalk.com here
  14. HOLY MOLY, LOOKS LIKE HE'S PUT PEN TO PAPER.... (Taken from TeamTalk.com) Caley pull off Niculae coup Inverness Caledonian Thistle have struck a deal to bring Romania striker Marius Niculae to the Scottish Premier League. The 26-year-old, whose move is subject to a work permit being granted, will join on a two-year contract and is due to train with his new team-mates on Wednesday. Niculae was released by German side Mainz following their relegation from the Bundesliga, and was reportedly being courted by several Continental clubs. Niculae has scored six goals in 26 appearances for Romania and boss Charlie Christie said: "This is a big signing for us. "Marius played in the Bundesliga last season and his final game for Mainz was against Bayern Munich so he clearly has the quality. "We look forward to being able to work on his fitness and blending him in to the squad as soon as possible." The deal is being part-financed by sponsorship from Inverness chairman Alan Savage's recruitment business, while the player reduced his wage demands to make the move. Savage said: "My company does business in Romania and Niculae was recommended. When Charlie Christie was shown the DVD of the player in action he immediately said he'd love to get him. "It is a rare opportunity to land an international player who was a free agent, thus involving no transfer fee, and the club directors were very keen to help the manager strengthen for the new SPL campaign."
  15. Its been overcast with the sun peaking through occasionally in Elgin today. I've been up and about since 7am and it hasn't rained once, so tonight should be ok for conditions.... :023: Will report back tonight with how we got on.
  16. Excitement tomorrow :crazy07: Been looking forward to this game for ages, and in the morning i'll be putting a bid in for a flat in Aberdeen (first time buyer after 7 years renting). Will be a bit all over the place Hopefully CC gives quite a few players 90mins, as we've been putting out a team for each half in the Italian friendlies. I'd much rather see the likes of McDonald/Paatelinen/Cowie et al get a full 90mins under their belt in preparation for Aug 4th. With about 4 more preseason games, i think that makes the most sense... :clapping03:
  17. Any word of progress with that Gym/Bar thing that was to be built behind the North Stand??? Obviously they haven't started building it yet(?), but perhaps someone knows if there is any word of confirmation that it will be built, or if there is even a timescale/budget :024:
  18. I actually quite like that one :021:
  19. If he does go to a different team, lets hope CC doesn't reignite his interest in John "Budgie" Stewart. Budgie in trouble again Didn't he get arrested for a racist attack in Aberdeen a couple of years ago. Something about stamping on a guys head?? Off to investigate...
  20. From personal experience, i'd guess there are around 20K Old Firm fans in the Moray area!!!
  21. Looks like i wasn't the only one who booked tickets in the home end!! TAKEN FROM THE DAILY RANGER FRENCH football bosses face a security nightmare after the Tartan Army invaded their Euro 2008 ticket sales. The French Federation's website crashed under the strain yesterday morning as Scotland supporters rushed to secure briefs for the Parc des Princes crunch on September 12. The SFA were given only 3500 tickets at prices of up to £82 to distribute to visiting fans through the official Travel Club. But it's now estimated there could be up to 15,000 Scots in the ground after tickets for the French end were made freely available online, without restrictions. A spokeswoman for the French Federation admitted they were unlikely to turn away Scots fans who had booked online, with many ordering up to six tickets each. Asked if they would be allowed entry, she said: "I guess so - we've had no problems before."
  22. Tickets for the French end went on sale at 9am this morning. By the looks of things on the Tartan Army messageboard hundreds, soon to be thousands of Scots have ordered tickets!! Better look out a France top/flag :023: The day we land back in Scotland ICT are away to Celtic, if Setanta don't change the kick off day/time i'll definitely be going to Parkhead. What a state i'll look by then though... fully kilted in a France top after 7 days of carnage. Don't suppose we can sign a Frenchman by then??
