  1. Team news from BBC Inverness are without suspended trio Barry Wilson, Ross Tokely and Ian Black for the visit of Motherwell. However, captain Darren Dods returns from a one-game ban which saw him miss Caley Thistle's 1-1 draw with Falkirk a fortnight ago. Motherwell striker Scott McDonald is set to return after being dropped for the visit to Celtic - the club he will be joining in the summer. Jim Paterson and Paul Keegan are still sidelined with injuries I read on the motherwell site that McDonald was a major doubt for the game, but trained today so should be fit. Whether Malpas plays him or not is a different story...

  3. Do you think i'd be able to blag being a student with my 2005/06 Aberdeen Uni card?? :024:
  4. BECAUSE OF ELTON JOHN! taken from teamtalk.com The singer will play a concert at the club's Caledonian Stadium on July 15, a date which clashes with the second round of the tournament. Director of football Graeme Bennett said: "We're withdrawing our interest in the Intertoto Cup. "The cup dates clash with an Elton John concert at the stadium which would've been a big issue. "We were also left hanging on so late last year to find if we were in the Intertoto that we don't want the same hassle. "We'll now look to fix up a training camp in Italy." Meanwhile, Gary McSwegan wants an answer from Caley Thistle boss Charlie Christie on his future. The striker, 36, has made two starts since signing from Ross County last August and is out of contract in June. He said: "I accept the club are probably hanging off to see what develops with players coming in. "But the sooner my situation is sorted out the better."
  5. I'd be extremely surprised if that isn't the lineup CC goes for :025:

Absolutely fantastic news if true... I've heard a lot of rumours in Aberdeen saying Jimmy Calderwood was looking at signing him to replace Richie Byrne.

    Me!
  8. An Elgin City fan was telling me about this a while ago. Apparently if they come last again, they have to reapply for SFL status (or something like that). He seemed very certain they'd get it though... Someone else may have a better knowledge than i on the subject
  9. Here is the Dunfermline team news.... (good to see Burchill is doubtful!) DUNFERMLINE STRIKER MARK Burchill looks set to miss tomorrow’s game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle despite scoring for the reserves this week. Burchill, who is on the mend following a double-hernia operation, netted the Pars’ only goal in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Hibs at East End Park. He played the full 90 minutes on Tuesday, but is feeling the effects, manager Stephen Kenny said. Kenny had hoped to include him in the squad to travel north, but it looks as though the Caley game has come too soon for the 26-year-old. The Pars boss told Courier Sport, “He’s short of fitness and is unlikely to play against Inverness. “He played the 90 minutes against Hibs, but is feeling a bit stiff so we’ll have to assess how he is. “It’s more likely he’ll play in the reserves against Hearts at Riccarton next week.” Kenny is also without Darren Young, who has a calf injury, and Greg Shields, who is struggling with a hamstring problem. Skipper Scott Thomson, who has been on the long-term sick list with a troublesome achilles, has resumed light training but Kenny said it was still too early to say when he would be back to full fitness. Meanwhile, Shields has set his sights on a Scottish Cup semi-final return after admitting he was naive about his torn hamstring. The experienced former Charlton and Kilmarnock player is planning to start training with the rest of his team-mates in the next fortnight in the hope he will be fit for the April 15 showdown with Hibs. With the Pars languishing at the SPL basement nine points adrift of safety, Shields’ seven-week absence has left him tearing his hair out. The 30-year-old suffered an aborted comeback two weeks ago as he made the problem worse by returning to training but he plans to give himself the best chance of being fit for Hampden next month. “The aim is to try to get back for the semi-final,” he said. “I am hoping to start training again with the boys at the end of March or the start of April. “I will start jogging and pick it up from there. “I have been doing a lot of bike work in the gym and doing a lot on my hamstring. “It has been very frustrating and perhaps I have shown a bit of naivety with this injury. “It is an injury that is new to me and there is a fine line between being OK and not. “I started back jogging before the Partick Thistle game a few weeks back and that was all right but it’s when I started to sprint that I found a problem. “I got found out and the doctors said it made an even bigger tear. “If I come back again too soon and do it again that could be me out for the rest of the season
  10. **** flaps! The only saturday lunchtime i'm busy. Any chance a someone with technological skills could record this and put it on YouTube????
  11. RossP replied to kencar's topic in Caley Thistle
How pap. That also means he could get an extended suspension if he picks up a lot of bookings at the start of next season
  12. I have a feeling it'll be the same team as the game against killie, with CC hoping that our defence is tighter this time against a "less dangerous" strikeforce... Really hope Put-a-line-on keeps his place. I might even make this game, as i'm back in Inverness playing the Ironworks that night. If soundcheck is over quickly, i can get up to the stadium in time hopefully!
  13. I'm going to blame my cold for missing that... :023:
  14. Whats the script for getting tickets for the Rangers v. ICT game on the 31st March?? Just realised thats the first day of my Easter Hols, so i'm planning on heading down, whilst dragging a few Glasgow-based-Dons fans along to show them how to beat the old firm. :021:
  15. Surely Markus Put-a-line-on has done enough in the last few subs appearances to merit a start. Perhaps play him and Barry as roving wingers who swap sides of the pitch occasionally I would go with... Fraser Tokely Caff Dods Hastings Black Duncan Rankin Wilson Put-a-line-on Bayne
  16. RossP replied to Libero's topic in Caley Thistle
Well after saying he is "suspended", they go and list him in the squad... Inverness squad: Fraser, Tokely, Dods, Hastings, Munro, Rankin, Morgan, Duncan, McAllister, Bayne, McSwegan, McCaffrey, Wilson, Soane, Black, Hart, Paatelainen, Ridgers. It'll be a typo.
  17. RossP replied to Doofer's topic in Caley Thistle
Ahhh.... Since i have terrestrial TV, anytime i see ICT on the box its in the pub. Just assumed it was Setanta... :)
  18. RossP replied to Doofer's topic in Caley Thistle
    Setanta are showing it
  19. We keep giving the ball away :020: Motherwell have had a few decent chances, Fraser playing well though
  20. no change in our lineup.
  21. RossP posted a topic in Caley Thistle
DOUGIE McDonald has been put in charge of the Scottish Cup quarter-final tie between Inverness Caley Thistle and Celtic, which is being shown live on Sky Sports a week on Sunday. Earlier this week McDonald was at the centre of controversy when he awarded a penalty kick to Rangers during their SPL win over Kilmarnock and later admitted his mistake after he had viewed the incident on television. Either he could be more generous to the "wee" team now... ... or he's a undercover Hun, who'll give us anything, just to beat Celtic ... or he'll give Celtic loads of dodgy decisions to make it an even dose of bias between the Old Firm :015:
  22. There are 2 pupils on the books of ICT, but i don't teach either so the names have escaped me. Both are rated very very highly though by all accounts!! I'm the only confirmed ICT fan. Steve Lovell has ruined 3 monday mornings over the last 11months...
  23. Out of around 100 pupils. I teach in Aberdeen, so the large % of them are Dons fans. The other large % don't follow football.
  24. I have maybe 25-30 Old Firm fans in my classrooms... - Absolutely none of them have ever been to a game. - I think only 1 has parent(s) from Glasgow. - Absolutely none of them have ever lived in Glasgow. - Only around 50% have even visited Glasgow!!
  25. Poor game by all accounts Alan Morgan, who's just come on, sounds like he is playing pretty pap as well. Hopefully he goes onto score an injury time winner to make me eat my words
