The whole thing has been a farce its all well and good the SPFL conducting an internal enquiry but that will go no where. The vote was flawed as has been discussed and Dundee have surely been promised something under the table to change their minds. On restructuring I like Kingsmills idea but the only thing that has a chance of passing the ridiculous 11-1 voting system (that needs scrapping for all the interest in Scottish football) is this 14 team league that has been proposed. As Doofers Dad said a 6/8 split would leave an inbalance of number of games with the top 6 on 36 and bottom 8 on 40 but it works well to meet all the criteria to get it through. 1. 4 old firm games - whether you like it or not Sky pay for those games mainly and reducing the number will in all likelihood reduce the TV deal. 2. More finance to lower clubs - playing an extra 4 matches in the bottom 8 will guarantee two extra home games which is two more games of income for those smaller clubs 3. Higher clubs play less matches - fixture congestion is a major gripe so should keep them content 4. gets rid of the current split imbalance. 5. it stops relegation and will allow Kelty and Brora into the system the fairest way The 11-1 vote makes me nervous but i think restructuring has to happen otherwise Scottish football could be ripped apart by legal battle after legal battle so even if some self centred Prem teams don't want to thin out their dough they may have to to now overt all out civil war. The interesting thing goes back to Dundee? What have they been promised to change their vote because only a 16 team league would mean they gain promotion and I cant see that so what made them change course at the last minute? Whats for sure this mess is far from done

At the moment the prem and league 1&2 have met the threshold to pass. But the champ remains 7/2 with one to go it sounds like Dundee voted against and defo plastic whistle so leaves us potentially with the deciding vote on the whole thing

First post in a while and sorry a bit late to the party but what a great half a decade that i got to see. My days of a season ticket holder sadly ended early in the decade with uni finishing and moving back down to England. One of my favourite matches was a home win over Raith in March of 2010 on that big run we had when Foran overhead kicked it in to give us a hard thought win one of the best atmospheres in the north stand. Missed the Ayr game which i will always regret but being a student ran out of money haha. Was at the Dundee home game for crowing and ran on the pitch and lost my wallet with me and my mates trains tickets back to Stirling but luckily found it again. Once I had moved away from Scotland got to less games but remember the anticipation for the trips North to watch the big cup games. The semi final at Easter Road was insane especially as my best mate was in the New stand as a massive jambo. The Nick Ross goal was absolute limbs and I remember feeling sick in extra time as wave after wave kept hitting our 9 men. Coming up for the final i was so excited but it was a damp squib unfortunately but little did I know that not long after we would be seeing the same but in the Scottish Cup. The semi does out rank the final and will always be with me but wasnt it great to see so many people out to support us even if they were just day trippers on the 30th of may. Missed the Europa (again another regret but had to work) i dont get to many matches now although came up for the derbies last season but I will continue to support and hopefully this next decade will bring some magic too

Now that I live in Ipswich I have got myself a season ticket, less said about last season the better. Jordan Roberts has only played in the leasing.com trophy I.E checker trade which is the equivalent of the challenge cup played only by teams from league 1 and lower plus Prem u21 teams. He hasn't started or been anywhere near the squad for a league game i think town signed him from Crawley last summer under Paul Hurst.

Can’t wait for this coming up with hopefully a few lads that have never been to a game in Scotland. They are both Ipswich Town fans so could do with some cheering up ?

Now the dust has settled I will add my thoughts. Lots of people in the mallard used the thrase we were robbed but we shot ourselves in the foot like we have done with many of the draws of we accumulated so far. Our lack of cutting edge has cost us points and Saturday was no different. In all three derbies Caley have played some great football but lack of goals has seen us pick up 2pts instead of 9 that we deserved. First game was tightest but we should have been clear in the first hour and then our home game we missed a hatful. Saturday we dominated throughout, county had chances but we had the better ones before we murdered them second half. Had that been a boxing fight then county would have thrown in the towel. But we failed to take any of our glorious chances including a wonderful chance for tom Walsh, who was exceptional without having that killer pass or strike to back it up. We had a better team in 09/10 when we came back from 12 Pts behind Dundee and we are 13 Pts behind county but realistically we are in the battle to stay in the play offs and chance our luck in that. Mixed emotions so proud of the performance but gutted by the result but we stick together and whatever will be will be in 2019 - Happy New Year to everyone!!!!!!

My first non derby game and now I see it. For both derbies I have seen tempo, creativity and excitement and I wondered why we draw so many - today gave all the evidence. Poor defending but yet we still have half an hour to win it and there was nothing. They looked shaky from set pieces and yet we didn’t put many good crosses in and resorted to playing straight balls to whyte and Oakley but no midfielders bombing on so no ideas at all. The officials were poor don’t let that mask over a poor display against a side we should be beating. Someone next to me said to his mate we will know where we are by the end of this month. With Ayr/Dundee Utd and a trip to Dingwall before the new year looks like we will especially after getting no points from the easiest fixture this month

Well can only echo what’s been said as it was an absolute perler of a game. I can’t comment on the offside from the angle I had, I called for it at the time but can’t say if it was but it did look like the linesman was 5 seconds behind the play. It’s hard to give a man of match as they all performed but that stop from Ridgers was Gordon Banks esq to get a strong enough hand to claw it past. On reflections Doran just couldn’t stretch enough even though I continued to scream how did he miss. I was disappointed in Polly’s effort as he had more time to pick and choose where he wanted to place it. Calder was immense and those crosses wow wicked every time just nobody to finish it up. I think the players need to have a little more belief as there were times when through balls or like calders free kick near the end, where players could have continued their runs and gambled. But nobody has beaten us even if a few too many draws and we are still only 3 behind 3rd place. If we can get a winning run together and then maybe if one or two additionals are available in jan (money dependant) then play like that every week and we should be in great shakes going into the promotion/play off mix

I don’t think the team is massively worse off that anyone else overall but we do lack a goal scorer and atm it is costing us places and losing us ground on the leading teams. Obviously dunfermiline on Tuesday is big in terms of giving us confidence going into the weekend. People think we will be battered next week but I don’t think we will as we have the best gk and best back 4. Defensively we are as strong if not stronger than anyone else in the league. Robbo needs to find a new set up to allow us to score more as we can’t keep it going as it is and hope we can nick games. Big week ahead

Frustrating apart from partick we have two games against 10 men and then 2 games against mid table sides and although we haven’t lost we have picked 7 from a possible 15. The 4-2-3-1 works well away which I have no worries but if we are going to keep in the play offs or even win the league then we need to find a way to turn draws into wins at home. Unbeaten run continues but For all the pretty football we seem to play we have little end product atm. We need more goals in the team strange feeling we haven’t lost but I feel a bit meh about the last few games even though we haven’t lost

DERBY RETURN MATCH FOR OVERSEAS SUPPORTERS (Ross county)

It was a long one for me sleeper from Euston Friday night and then flight back to Luton on the Saturday before my sister picked me up and we drove the 2hrs back to Ipswich. Even though it was 0-0 the day was well worth and cant wait for November and New Year when I will be visiting my parents and getting to the games. -
excellant day brilliant banter in the singing section and a deserved point. Probs fair result but i thought we were the better side throughout. For all county's money and quality on the pitch they looked very ordinary and lacked any cohesion. Just missed that spark up top otherwise we would have won that. Big shout out to Liam Polworth, standout player on the pitch pulling all the strings. Also shout out for completely different angle to Ian Vigurs, who came on and worked so hard to take Liam out of the game. What a thug ?

Derby Day is here! The first Derby of the season kicks off at 3:00pm in Dingwall on Saturday. Tickets for Inverness fans can be bought on the day from the matchday ticket offices at the ground. Ginger Jaggy has written this weeks preview ahead of the derby and here is what he has to say.... It is always a fixture that fans look too on fixture release day with the first of four instalments taking place in Dingwall on Saturday. And if a derby is not enough spice then throw into the equation it being a top of the table clash against a County side boasting several ex-Caleyjag players to get the juices flowing. For myself the excitement can’t get any greater having not attended a game since the ill-fated final season in the top flight and I have not been back to Dingwall since the old away terracing was done away with. County started the season as favourites, who would bet against a side that still boasts Premiership quality and one of the biggest budgets. But they haven’t set the league alight and currently sit behind us by a point as we look to make a statement of intent on enemy territory. If John Robertson can get the Caley Jags promoted it will go down as probably the biggest achievement in his managerial career. He has had an ever-shrinking budget and is almost rebuilding the club on his own by creating a new squad good enough to get back into the top flight. And so far, the omens look good. Since it eventually clicked last season the Caley Jags have now gone an impressive 17 league games unbeaten including the first five of this term. Although home draws against Alloa and Ayr were poor results considering both played at least a full half with 10 men, Inverness have continued to be hard to beat and carry on picking up points. But either side of the international break we have scored three times against Dunfermline and Partick - two expected rivals for promotion - setting us up nicely for the trip to Dingwall. Ross County have reported strong sales for the match so far and with a large away following expected it should be a cracking atmosphere. Here's hoping that the points get brought back across the Kessock Bridge that will give us the early bragging rights but more importantly puts us further clear at the summit. Team News John Robertson will be without George Oakley who was injured late in the game against Partick Thistle. It is understood he will be out for a few weeks. Shaun Rooney is a major concern although he has allegedly been training all week since coming off before half-time in the same fixture. Jamie McCart will be an option should Rooney fail to make the squad with Brad Mckay moving to right back. Young Daniel Mackay will move up the pecking order with Oakley sidelined. Liam Polworth is another who carried a knock forward after the Partick game but he is likely to be fit. Stuart Kettlewell & Steve Ferguson were given a boost with the news that Marcus Fraser and Keith Watson should be available. County could possibly have four former Caley Jags players in their line-up. Don Cowie, Ross Draper, Iain Vigurs and Billy Mckay. Brian Graham has been in goal scoring form recently and the big striker will present a tough test for Coll Donaldson and his cohorts. Other new names to the County squad are forwards Declan McManus (Dunfermline) and Ross Stewart (St Mirren), midfielders Josh Mullin (Livingston), Harry Paton (Hearts) and defenders Keith Watson (St Johnstone), Stelios Demetriou (St Mirren) and Callum Morris, (Dunfermline). Out went some crowd favourites like captain Andrew Davies, Alex Schalke, Christoper Routis, Jaison Naismith, Thomas Mikkelsen, Craig Curran, Reghan Tumilty, and Tim Chow. Hey Guys, I will be travelling up for the Derby in a few weeks but will also disappear back down South after the game. As the train will get me back into Inverness too Late is there a chance of a lift back to sneck so i can sort out getting to the airport. If not i can get a taxi but if there is then it will save me a few pennies ?.

Haven’t been to a game since losing to Killie in the relegation season but hope to be at most if not all derbies and a few others. Now I am not going to argue with people who have been to the games as they have the best views of seeing the whole 90 minutes but I find this doom and gloom outlook on the season a bit laughable. I looked at my phone and saw Alloa had equalised and did roll my eyes but we had a worse start last season. County lost to Morton today, which I didn’t see coming, I think this league is going to be tight with points being taken off each other. I agree that not winning against 10 men and two promoted sides is not great but to say that means our season is going to be awful is a bit premature. Early season is always a bit of a phoney war, you want to start well but we will know far better how this season will pan out closer to Christmas. The fact that we are creating chances makes me less worried, yes we need to start putting teams away so they can’t get back in to games but again strikers are weird creatures. Austin scored quite a few last season when he joined but has struggled so far, if he gets on a roll then I am sure the goals will start flowing. Drawing today was awful but not terminal in our promotion/play off chances but we have to start winning games when we are on top. As for penalties sort it out!!!

I am hoping to get to more games than the 0 of last season now my parents are leaving Caithness to be closer to Inverness. easier to sneak off to the football when visiting, especially with derbies this season and generally happy to produce previews this season and any game I do get to a report.

Foran won't go so unless change is made at the boardroom level then he willl lead us in our campaign to stay up and more likly a promotion campaign. The mess with Hughes has left us in this position. I think Richie was being groomed to manage at some point but the mess we got ourselves in with Hughes left us to promote foran early. I don't think had funds been available that he would be manager now and with relegation almost a formality unless some kind of miracle, then even less money than last summer it is hard to see them sack another manager so early into a long term deal. I've said in another thread he should stay in some capacity but just not manager but if the excuse was no money last summer then it is even more apt if we are a championship club face it guys Richie is going nowhere fast unless something changes at the top.

Relegation is not good and of course I want to see the club remain in the top division but a side from the financial it may just be something to kick start a revival for the club. People will lose there jobs and that is deverstating but maybe this will be the making of the club. More chance of winning silverware, cheaper admission may just increase the crowds up a little. I remember 2009, my first year at uni and I had an exam on a Saturday (yes what is that all about) and missed Falkirk. My mum took my season ticket but I watched in the union and I cried when the whistle went. I won't be this time but what followed was great fun visiting old stadiums with terraces and the last day when the ground was almost packed. My first game was Ayr in Inverness with just over 1,000 fans and then a dunfermiline semi at hampden before watching the first promotion on the bridge. The club has had way more highs than lows but the size of the club we have to accept this will happen from time to time. We certainly ain't a yo-yo club but maybe this will get people back and enjoying the club. We won't suddenly get flocks of fans but maybe we can back over that 3,000 mark. Even if we don't win with the play offs now we need to finish top 4 to be part of a play off so coming back won't be as difficult than in the past with just one going up. Hope we stay up but if the inevitable happens then let's embrace it, sort this mess out and come back stronger

Only hope is Dundee continue to drop but I just can't see us doing anything to even make up a 5 pt gap
