  1. oh dear a point sounds ok now
  2. Im astounded that the crowd is down even if season tickets sales may have been down surely people would have turned up to the gate to support the side but if we start well we may see more people coming if they can see that this season will be an improvement
  3. sounds like jim spence rather than robbo
  4. well i have not renewed but not for any footballing reason. Alas i have finished uni and the increased price is harder and atm my future is unclear on the job front so i may be along way away but i will still get to games just cant make enough games to make it viable for me
  5. Well the fact there is clarity over the squad is that there is no money left but from what i have read in the press and journal Butcher was looking to add one more striker but because of last week has to make king the last signing. I agree we probs do need another striker but without the money we have to make do. It is weaker than last seasons but who is to say that it wont work this season. We seem to have a few more players with experience than last season of the new additions and in some of our youngsters we can give them experience and who knows they may just rise to the challenge. I read that in the courier that the muirfield mills consortium are putting more money in which unfortunately may have to be used to cover the shortfall rather than give us a little extra but is it worth the board asking them if they could put just a little extra to maybe get one more player after king because i think the squad will be ok if we could get one more striker
  6. it is very blue but it has red stripes crossing it so not the best but i dont mind it and even though people aint happy about losing the stripes the state scottish football is in i may buy one to help the club out after not being able to purchase a season ticket this season
  7. it is not question of our supporters being rubbish but circumstances has led to the home atmosphere being poor. I did not get to to many games before i had a season ticket but i did take in a few 1st division games where the crowd was about 1,500 to 2,000 and the atmosphere was better than now. This is because of terracing where people could stand and jump about which makes a decent atmosphere. The second issue is people can stand where they like which is generally what happens at away games because we have a relatively small away support and so wont sell out the away ends meaning people can choose where they can sit and the people who want to sing can band together. At home everyone has a seat and season ticket holders buy their seat because they like where they sit. Not all of these people want to sing and make noise which means it is hard to group people together and then the lopsided nature of our stadium means that we struggle to trap any noise generated. So it is not our supporters that is embarrassing as many away day has showed where with about 200-300 we can out sing home fans but circumstances out with our control. And if im being critical quite a few home supports i have seen in the spl are just as similar to ours. St Johnstone were terrible, st mirren had one area with little noise, Kilmarnock make more more noise away, dunfermiline for a team in trouble made very little noise on the two visits ive been apart from when they scored.
  8. we got a concelation

  13. thats it comon caley lets win in style tade got a hat trick last time maybe mckays turn now
  14. excellant needed that
  15. 1-0 down i wish this season would just end
  16. i dont think many people would be saying anything about th nationality of the players if they were top spanish players playing quality football and winning honours. But because they aint some people think because they aint scottish the team isnt doing well. It aint because they aint scottish it is because as footballers some of the players quality isnt that high and so the team has suffered. i dont care where they come from as long as they perform and excite us as caley thistle fans while keeping us in the league and maybe a cheeky trip to hampden now and then
  17. Well after watching a cracker in which everton came back to snatch a 4-4 draw against Man United (not good result) i better make a contribution to yesterday's more drab game of the weekend. I went up yesterday knowing that it may be my penultimate game as a season ticket holder due to leaving uni and trying to find a job. And it looks like it may be a sad end because yesterday was poor without it being the poorest (st johnstone away and celtic cup home being worse) but it wasnt good. Bright start against a non existent Aberdeen but we never continued and it became scrappy and that was the way it remained. First goal was a shock and still dont know who scored but who cares it went in from sloppy defending. Then we went on to huff and puff for an equaliser with shane having the best chance but inevitably ballooning it over - story of the season no cutting edge. I feel that aberdeen should have been down 10 with the last ditch foul on tade but again only a yellow when had it been an old firm player the defender was probably gone. The second goal i have two gripes. Firstly, even though hayes was poor i wouldnt have taken him for Proctor, maybe winnal which still bewilders me. He is a striker, may not score hundreds but he will get us goals if he was played more but like quite a few loan signings they are here to make up squad numbers and cover but not given much of a chance. Secondly it was all to easy and again sums us up this season cant score cant keep clean sheets. Their were positives with Doran deservedly getting motm back from injury. Owain Tudor jones played from the start and not on as a 90 min sub and sutherland looked bright when he came on and hayes is doing very well in stopping any interest with some terrible performances which may mean we can keep him for at least another half season and see if we can get the best out of him again. But it has been very disappointing this season with players not making the impact we expected. Next season hopefully better, we dont need to completely change the squad but a few havent done enough and need jettisoning and maybe terry could have a good summer and find a few gems that will hopefully improve us.
  18. Butcher hasnt had a great season but it is one season. He has not taken us backwards as we were never much higher in the table apart from 7th. Some of the signings havent made the impact we would have hoped for but give him the summer to make a few changes and hopefully we will keep the majority of the squad fit and then we can push on. We have lacked a striker and need a poacher but on our budget we may struggle and defensively we have got stronger and if we can keep golabart then that is a plus. Butcher has done brilliant in his time and one poor season can be excused, we are going through a transition but we are a better side than what we have shown this season and with a few changes next season hopefully will be better
  19. we dominate and should be battering them and now we are losing
  20. brilliant typical
  21. yay we finally get a penalty
  22. I became a fan when i moved from england in 2001. I am a big man united fan but i just fell in love with caley thistle. I went to a few first division games with my dad and i really enjoyed it then we went to the 04 cup semi which was great and then promotion where i stood on the bridge and watched gain promotion before going into the stadium to celebrate the trophey and then season ticket in our first full season in inverness and that remains and being at uni i can get to away games. It is great fun and having a small crowd allows for a alot of banter and meeting new friends
  23. great win should be pretty much safe now we have 11 points with 21 to play for and we have an extra game so we are almost their
  24. no rebuild we have had alot of injuries keep most of this squad and get back players like andrew shinnie and keep owain tudor jones and get these fit for next season and try and get a proper striker and maybe a few other positions hopefully doran will be back and hayes may stay now that he has tailed off and we can go into next season with optimism oh get golabart back as well
  25. well im in manfers camp on this one. I dont know where this came from after some really appalling performances but where ever it came from it was a vast improvement. But with that vast improvement we showed our underlying problem in many games this season - cannot score enough to win games we deserve to win. I though golabart was brilliant own goal a side and i though it was one of the best games greg tansey has put in in a caley shirt. I didnt think foran was great yesterday he gave away a lot of easy balls. Cammy bell was brilliant yesterday but we missed some really guilt edge chances. I thought mckay and winnall linked up well and looked dangerous just the final ball lacking again. I know we scored with 5 in midfield compared to the 4-4-2 but i though it tightened it up and made it harder and in fact it came from another great save from bell that allowed golabart to tap in. It was a much better performance and surprise surprise it culminates in us playing the ball on the deck.
